Chronograph watch mechanism. The subject of the invention is a watch-chronograph mechanism comprising two pushers, the first of which is used to actuate a column wheel whose function is to engage and disengage the control returns of the chronograph hand and of the control hand. minute counter, while the second pusher is used to control the reset hammer.
In the usual mechanisms of the type defined above, the first pusher makes it possible to start and stop the chronograph hand, while the second pusher is used exclusively to reset the chronograph and minute counter hands to zero.
The watch-chronograph mechanism according to the present invention fulfills all the functions described, but it also offers the possibility, when the chronograph hand is running, of recalling these hands to zero using the second push-piece, without first stopping the chronograph hand.
For this purpose, the components carrying the mentioned control references are also capable of being actuated by the zeroing hammer, when these references have been engaged using the first pusher, so that the references can be disengaged. , recall the chronograph hand and the minute counter hand to zero, by pressing the second pusher, the references being instantly returned to their running position and leaving the chronograph hand restarted as soon as we stop pressing on said second pusher.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
In the drawing, we can see the chronograph wheel 1 which carries the chronograph hand; it is controlled by the auxiliary seconds wheel 2, by means of a return 3 mounted on a lever 4 in two parts, pivoted at 5 and subjected to the action of a return spring 6. The return 3 engages ton- days in wheel 2; on the other hand, it moves away from the wheel 1 and stops driving it, when the lever 4 is moved against the spring 6. The wheel 1 controls the minute counter wheel 7, by means of a finger 8 fixed to the wheel 1, and a return 9 engaging in the wheel 7.
Each time the wheel 1 has made a revolution, the finger 8 actuates the return 9 which then advances the counter wheel 7 and the minute counter hand driven by this wheel. 10 designates the sau toir of the wheel 7. The return 9 is mounted on an arm 11 fixed by a screw 11 'to a rocker 12 pivoted at 13 and controlled by the column wheel 14 which can act on a spout 13' of the arm 13.
The rocker 12 is subjected to the action of a return spring 12 'and comprises two arms 15 and 16, the first of which is intended to be actuated by a pin 17 fixed to the zeroing hammer 18 pivoted at 19, while that the arm 16 controls the lever 4 by its heel.
The hammer 18 is subjected to the action of a return spring 20 and its main function is to act on the usual caeurs (not shown) for setting the chronograph hand and the counter hand to zero. of minutes. The two arms of the lever 4 are assembled with one another by a screw 21, while a screw 22 serves as a guide for the lever 4, the original position of which is determined by a stop screw 23.
The chronograph wheel 1 is kept stationary, when the chronograph hand is stopped at zero, as long as it is not hand held by the hammer, by a usual brake 24 pivoted at 25 and controlled by the column wheel 14 ; this brake is subjected to the action of a return spring 26 and its initial position is determined by a stop screw 27 which also limits the travel of the lever 12.
The brake 24 is also controlled (lifted) by the pin 17 of the hammer 18, a pin which projects on the internal face of the latter.
The mechanism can be controlled by means of two pushers 28 and 29 arranged on either side of the winding and time-setting crown 30. The first push-button, 28, is connected to the large pivoting lever 31. at 32 and the pawl 33 of which actuates the column wheel 14 cooperating with a jumper 34. The pawl 33 is subjected to the action of a return spring 35, so that the column wheel advances by one tooth , each time pressure is exerted on the pusher 28. The column wheel only controls the rocker 12 and the brake 24, the zero-setting hammer being controlled exclusively by the pus evening 29.
To this end, the pusher 29 is connected to a slide 36 which is coupled, by means of a pin 37, to a lever 38 pivoted at 39. This lever, as well as the lever 31 are held in their initial position by a stop screw 41. The hammer 18 bears, under the action of its return spring 20, against the lever 38, by means of a pin 40 of the hammer, against which said pin also acts said spring 20.
Assuming that the chronograph hand and the minute counter hand are stopped at zero and that a first pressure is exerted on pusher 28, the column wheel 14 advances by one tooth and drives the rocker 12 and the brake 24 in the position that these members occupy in the drawing. Thus, the chronograph hand is started, due to the fact that the return 3 meshes with the chronograph wheel 1, under the action of the return spring 6 of the lever 4.
On the other hand, the return 9 is placed in the path of the finger 8 and therefore in a position to be actuated by the latter. It is important to note, in order to understand certain subsequent functions of the mechanism, that during operation, the beak of the arm 15 of the rocker 12 is pressed on the pin 17 of the hammer 18.
If a second pressure is exerted on the pusher 28, the column wheel advances one more tooth, which has the effect that the nose 13 'of the rocker is pushed back by a column of the column wheel 14 and remains engaged on the peripheral face of said column, while the nozzle of the brake 24 engages in the vacuum separating two neighboring columns of the column wheel. It follows that the rocker 12 and the brake 24 perform a pivoting movement in the opposite direction relative to each other, so that the arm 16 acts on the lever 4,
rotates the latter and thus disengages between the return and the chronograph wheel 1, at the same time as the return 9 is moved away from the path of the finger 8 and the brake 24 is pressed against the wheel 1 for the 'immobilize. The chronograph hand is therefore stopped. By pressing a third time on the pous evening 28, the members 12 and 24 return to their respective operating position, so that the chronograph hand starts again. If, instead of pressing a third time on pusher 28, pressure is exerted on pusher 29, the chronograph hand and the minute counter hand are returned to zero by hammer 18 and there. stop.
During this function, the pous evening 29 only actuates the hammer 18 and the brake 24, to the exclusion of any other member, via the slider 36 and the lever 38, because the beak of the arm 15 s' is erased in front of the pin 17 of the hammer during the second pressure on the pusher 28 (stop of the chronograph hand) thus allowing the hammer to act on the brake 24 by the pin 17 and on the zero settings and to return to its original position without activating the rocker 12.
After returning the chronograph hand and the minute counter hand to zero, the chronograph hand can be restarted by pressing the push-button 28, an operation which returns the members of the mechanism to the position. of walk which they occupy in the drawing.
In addition to the four functions described above, the mechanism makes it possible to perform a fifth function, by means of the push-button 29. This function consists in instantly resetting the chronograph hand and the minute counter hand to zero, when the chronograph hand is running, and restarting these hands.
Indeed, once the chronograph hand has been started by means of the pusher 28, the members of the mechanism occupy the respective positions shown in the drawing. If, therefore, the pusher 29 is fully pressed and held in this position, the hammer 18 is actuated and first acts on the rocker 12, by means of the pin 17, so that this rocker pivots at 13 and disengages the references 3 and 9 by acting by its arm 16 on the lever 4.
Then, the hammer 18, continuing its travel, acts on the hearts and returns the chronograph hand and the minute counter hand to zero. But, as soon as the pusher 29 is released, it returns to its initial position, just as the components that it has just ordered are returned to their respective original position, under the action of the return springs 6, 12 'and 20, so that the chronograph hand immediately resumes from zero position.
This function operates without the intervention of the column wheel and can be repeated at will.
