  Verfahren zur Darstellung eines     substantiven    kupferhaltigen     Azofarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man     substantive     kupferhaltige     Azofarbstoffe    erhält, wenn  man     Trisazofarbstoffe    der allgemeinen  Formel

    worin     R1    beliebig     substituiert    sein kann und       R2    den Rest einer Komponente der Benzol-    oder     Naphthalinreihe,    welche     mindestens        eine          Sulfonsäuregruppe    enthält, bedeutet,

   unter  solchen Bedingungen mit kupferabgebenden  Mitteln     behandelt,    dass die in     R1    in     o-Stel-          lung    zur     Azobrücke        befindliche        Methogyl-          gruppe    gespalten wird.  



  Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes     ist     ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines     substan-          tiven    kupferhaltigen     Triazofarbstoffes.    Es  besteht darin, dass man den     Azofarbstoff    der  Formel

    mit einem kupferabgebenden     Mittel    unter sol  chen Bedingungen behandelt,     dass    die     Me-          thogygruppen    aufgespalten werden.    <I>Beispiel:</I>  100     Gewichtsteile    des Farbstoffes der  Formel

    werden in 2500     Gewichtsteilen    Wasser ge  löst und auf<B>85'</B> erwärmt.

   Dann versetzt  man unter Rühren mit einer Lösung von 88       Gewichtsteilen        kristallisiertem        Kupfersulfat     und 100 Gewichtsteilen 25 %     igem        Ammoniak     in 250 Gewichtsteilen Wasser. Die Mischung  wird dann noch 12     Stunden    bei 80 bis 90    gerührt. Man erhält einen Farbstoff,     dei     Baumwolle in blauen Tönen anfärbt.

   treated with copper-releasing agents under such conditions that the methogyl group in R1 in the o-position to the azo bridge is cleaved.



  The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a substantial copper-containing triazo dye. It consists in getting the azo dye of the formula

    treated with a copper releasing agent under such conditions that the methogy groups are split up. <I> Example: </I> 100 parts by weight of the dye of the formula

    are dissolved in 2500 parts by weight of water and heated to <B> 85 '</B>.

   A solution of 88 parts by weight of crystallized copper sulfate and 100 parts by weight of 25% ammonia in 250 parts by weight of water is then added, while stirring. The mixture is then stirred at 80 to 90 hours for a further 12 hours. A dye is obtained which dyes cotton in blue shades.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines substan- tiven kupferhaltigen Trisazofarbstoffes, da durch gekennzeichnet, dass man den Azofarb- stoff der Formel EMI0002.0017 mit einem kupferabgebenden Mittel unter solchen Bedingungen behandelt, dass die Me- thogylgruppen aufgespalten werden. Der er- haltene neue Farbstoff färbt Baumwolle in blauen Tönen an. PATENT CLAIM: Process for the production of a substantial copper-containing trisazo dye, characterized in that one uses the azo dye of the formula EMI0002.0017 treated with a copper releasing agent under such conditions that the methogyl groups are split up.
