Description
Process for the production of a dust-free, elastic, water-permeable surface material for playgrounds and sports fields. Playgrounds and sports facilities of all kinds, provided they were not laid out as lawns, in particular playgrounds for young people, gyms, running tracks and tennis courts, have hitherto been physically covered with a surface layer of sand, gravel, wall debris or street. All types of these surface materials have shown very significant deficiencies over the years.
Pits consisting of sand surfaces are never dust-free in dry, windy times despite being sprinkled and therefore endanger the health of the players. These blankets also become hard after a short time and playing on them is tiring and painful. A major disadvantage of the materials made of limestone products is that, after heavy or prolonged rain, the squares dry out, become slippery and slippery and therefore cannot be used for a long time or lead to dangerous falls while walking Injuries.
In contrast, the inventors succeeded in roasting and firing a mixture of the weathered product of a reddish slate and alum earth and adding an iron-based clay as a binding agent to produce a dust-free, elastic, water-permeable material mixture for play and sports fields, which meets all requirements in terms of health and play technology of a niche and economic nature.
The inventors mix the weathered slate with alum, roast the mixture and burn it to a hardness of 4 and a light red color.
The porous pieces obtained are crushed, sifted into coarse and fine-grained material, then an iron clay is added to both types as a binding agent.
The advantages of the new material are: freedom from dust, good binding properties, excellent permanent elasticity, maximum drying speed after rain, minimal maintenance, no frost damage, unlimited service life.
The application of the Ma terials described on the substructure of play and sports facilities can be done in a thickness of 2 to 5 cm. The layers are first rolled dry, then sprinkled and rolled several times in the semi-dry state until the covering is firm.
