Arrangement for regulating the passage of current through grid-controlled discharge vessels with ionizable nedlum. It is known that in the case of vapor or gas discharge vessels, that is to say discharge vessels with an ionizable medium, the initiation of the discharge can be influenced by a control electrode, a so-called grid.
Various arrangements have already been proposed for regulating the passage of current using grid-controlled discharge vessels with an ionizable medium. In general, an alternating control voltage is supplied to the grid circles, the amplitude or phase of which is variable.
According to the present invention, the pointer circles receive a control voltage, which is composed of an alternating voltage of constant amplitude and phase and a variable floating voltage.
The advantage over other arrangements is that a simple control transformer or an additional winding supplies the AC voltage component on the main transformer and the regulation is controlled solely by the sliding span 2D Zn arrangement, skoiu- component is effected.
An important area of application of the invention are grid-controlled rectifiers. The mode of operation of the control according to the present invention is to be explained with the aid of the curves in FIG. 3, before the applications are discussed. A sinusoidal alternating voltage P 0, e must be inserted into the anode circuit möo, e. In addition, three curves G,. G "and G, are given, which correspond to the different control voltages.
These control voltages differ only with regard to the DC voltage component. while the alternating voltage component is kept constant in terms of amplitude and phase. As can be seen from FIG. 3, it is expedient to give the grid alternating voltage a phase lag of 90 ° To issue anode alternating voltage.
If one assumes that the discharge occurs when the grid voltage changes from negative values to positive values, then it follows that if a control voltage, G, is present, the discharge current starts at time X :. , if a control voltage is present, G, at time X #, if a control voltage is present, G "the discharge vessel is conductive during the full positive half-wave.
As need not be explained in more detail, by changing a negative DC voltage component, the time at which the discharge is initiated can be shifted in such a way that the discharge vessel only becomes conductive or not conductive at all towards the end of the positive half-wave of the anode alternating voltage.
In Figs. 1 and 6 are execution examples of the inventive concept that relate to an automatic Schnellreaelung of the voltage respectively. Relate excitation of electrical machines, while FIGS. 2 to 5 contain curves for explaining the mode of operation.
In FIG. 1 of the drawing, a control arrangement is used to regulate the voltage of the generator 1. A synchronous machine 1 feeds a three-phase network 2. The generator is provided with a field winding 3 , which is fed by an exciter 4.
The excitation machine 4 itself contains 4 a field winding 5 which is normally fed via grid-controlled discharge vessels with ionizable media, the control of which has already been mentioned above, from a V # Teehsel power network -becomes.
Switching means 6. , which can be operated both manually and automatically, are provided in order to activate the Feldwickluuo, 5 itself while the machine 4 is being started. As can be seen, the switch contains two physical contacts 7 and 8, those with fixed contacts 9, 10, 11 and 1,2 work together. Means are also provided to control the moving parts of the switch, and although a solenoid 13 is used for this purpose, it is actuated by means of an auxiliary switch 15 .
In the wire position shown, the contacts 7 and 8 close a circuit via the fixed contacts 10 and 12, so that the field winding 5 from generator 4: is self-excited. A variable resistance 16 is provided in order to be able to regulate the excitation voltage during starting.
Normally, however, the field winding is made from an alternating current source, for example the mains 2, via grid-controlled discharge vessels 17, 18 and 19 with steam or gas filling, or a other form fed by discontinuously controlled tubes.
It is known that such discharge vessels have the advantage of high current permeability and small voltage drops compared with discharge vessels with a pure electrical discharge, the discharge of which is continuously controlled. The term "discontinuously controlled tube" is therefore chosen in order to identify the type of discharge vessels in terms of their control.
As already stated, the onset of the discharge current in the tube is determined by the control grid, but the discharge current can only be interrupted by reducing the anode voltage below its critical value. The supply unit, which zn in alternating voltage to the vessels 17, 18 and 19 respectively. the field winding 5. takes place. by means of a transformer 20 which can be fed from the network 2.
The primary winding of the transfer motor is preferably arranged in a triangle and the secondary winding in a zigzag star, whereby the direct current magnetization is kept away from the transformer limbs.
The anodes of the vessels are connected to the ends of the secondary winding, while the field winding 5 via the contacts 7 </ between the core point of the secondary winding and the cathodes of the vessels B> and 9 is inserted. A transformer 23 is provided for the cathode heating, the correct heating voltage being set by means of a variable resistor 24.
The control electrode of each vessel receives an alternating voltage derived from the Neti 2 via a transformer 25. Resistors 26, 27 and 28 are also inserted into the grid circles. Normally the alternating voltage is essentially 'constant, and the phase relationship between the anode voltage and grid voltage is kept constant by the arrangement of the windings of the transformers 20 and 225 shown. A suitable arrangement ensures that the alternating control voltage fed to the grid circles lags behind by 90 the corresponding ano voltage.
Since the tubes work on the field circuit, which represents a relatively high inductive load, an essentially complete control with 90 ' phase shift of the grid voltage can be achieved. To regulate the discharge current to a small average value, it is advisable to use capacitors 29, 30 and 30 to achieve a relatively low resistance for the current flow from the grid to the cathode 31, which are connected directly between the grid and cathode of each tube.
The vessels are controlled by a variable direct voltage that is connected in series with the fixed alternating voltage. As shown, this is brought about by a resistance 32 in the lattice circle -the vessels 17, 18 and 19 < / B> is inserted and the voltage drop across this resistor is changed by a DC voltage that is controlled by the operating variable to be controlled.
This voltage-dependent circuit contains a bridge arrangement which, on the one hand, contains resistors that have a linear voltage current characteristic and, on the other hand, resistors that have a non-linear voltage current characteristic. The bridge arrangement preferably contains resistance elements of the same type in the opposite branches, for example the resistors 33 and 34 with linear characteristics and the resistors 35 and 36 with, non-linear characteristic.
It has been found that, as a material having a non-linear characteristic, a material. which contains silicon carbide and carbon, or other conductive materials, is particularly suitable.
In order to use all three phases for the regulation, a three-phase rectifier is used, namely the three single-phase voltages of the generator are converted to direct voltage so that the resulting voltage is a function of the voltages of all three phases . The bridge circuit receives a DC voltage that is dependent on the generator voltage. namely by means of a transformer 37 and the rectifier 38, 39 and 40.
The transformer 37 is provided with a primary winding 41 which is connected in delta and is connected to the alternating current network 2 via suitable resistors 42. The transformer 37 is provided with several single-phase secondary windings 43.
The various phase windings are connected to the full-wave rectifiers 38, 39 and -V), which is why full-wave rectifiers are used so that the harmonics of the individual rectifiers are reduced as much as possible. This is not necessary in itself, but it contributes to perfection.
In principle, all known rectifiers can be used for these rectifiers, but dry rectifiers should preferably be used. The DC circuits of the rectifier are connected in series and the entire voltage is applied to the terminals. 44 and 15 of the bridge arrangement, --ele "-t. A switching resistor 46 is used to adjust the bridge voltage (similar to resistor 42).
It has been found to be advisable to use the resistors 42 to make the setting primarily. The Au2o-angsspannun-- of the bridge arrangement is fed to the grid circle of a discharge vessel, namely a discharge vessel with pure electron discharge is used. Two discharge vessels can be arranged in parallel.
This improves the reliability of the control device, namely if one of the vessels fails, the other automatically takes over the full current. For the sake of simplicity, however, only one vessel is shown. This discharge vessel acts as a voltage amplifier in that changes in the anode current cause changes in the voltage drop across the control resistor 32 of vessels 17, 18 and 19 . The anode voltage is fed to the vessel 47 by means of a transformer from a transformer auxiliary winding 48 by means of a full-wave polarizer 49.
An electrical filter is also provided, which contains a choke coil 50 and a parallel connection of resistor 51 and capacitor 52. The cathode heating current for the vessel 47 is taken from the Transforma'Gor 37 by means of a further auxiliary winding 53. The winding 53 contains a center tap that is connected to the star point of the transformer secondary winding of 25 .
One end of the resistance 39- has the same potential, while the other end is connected to the upper direct current line of the rectifier 49 via the conductor 55. When checking the relationship, the anode circuit of the vessel 47 and the grid resistance of the vessels 17, 18 and 19 , it must be ensured that the resistance 32 </ B> is in series with the anode circuit of the electron tube 47.
The advantages achieved by the described Regeleinrich device, which speaks essentially without inertia, cannot be fully realized if one does not pay special attention to the question of over-regulation. It is known that overregulation or oscillation in the regulating process el e3 is caused by the time delay in individual parts of the generator circuits or the regulating device.
Although discharge vessels eliminate the time delay caused by the moving parts and relays of the usual mechanical reuler, there is still a time delay due to the inadvertent build-up of current in the exciter and generator fields. The latter time delay is comparatively small, and tests have shown that when a currently active control arrangement is used, overriding does not occur, even if means for preventing the overriding; absence.
However, it has been found that such a controller works incorrectly, especially during compensation processes, for example in the event of short circuits or switching processes, and that it is not advisable to operate the generator above its static stability limit. It was also established, e JO, states that overregulation can occur, even if the time limit or other inertia is kept away from the control device, for example by exciting the generator field.
This is a consequence of the armature reactance, which is relatively large with the usual generators. For the regulation of such a generator it is therefore necessary to provide means for preventing overruns which take into account the inertia of the field of the exciter and the effects of the armature reactance when an exciter is used. becomes.
If the exciter is left off, means are still necessary to prevent overregulation in order to prevent overregulation due to the armature reactance.
To prevent over-regulation respectively. BEZW to compensate for the time delay caused by the exciter. An adjustable resistor 56 is provided by the armature reactance. The voltage drop across this resistor is changed as a function of an operating variable of the exciter 4, that is, its voltage.
A capacitance 57 is in series with the resistance at the terminals of the exciter generator, so that the voltage across the resistor 56 only appears during the equalization conditions of the excitation circuit, or expressed differently when the excitation voltage changes. So that the voltage change of the grid is delayed so that the feedback circuit has the opportunity - -,
To prevent the exciter machine from overriding, a resistor 58 is provided in the output circuit of the bridge. Furthermore, there is a capacitance 59 parallel to the grid and cathode. The resistor 58 determines the speed of the voltage application and the cathode. The decrease in the capacitance 59 and the time constant of this series connection of resistor 58 and capacitance 59 determine the time delay of the change in the grid voltage.
A capacity 60 is also parallel to the resistance 58 , so that small changes in voltage are not large enough to control the vessels 17, 18 </ B> and 19 can be quickly fed to the grid. A resistor 61 can also be provided in parallel with the capacitance 59 . This is used to change the time required to change the grid voltage. is. The arrangement of the elements 58 to 61 is similar in its mode of operation to the return elements of mechanical regulators.
The compensation of the voltage drop and the compensation as a result of the reactive power when two generators are operated in parallel can, if necessary, be achieved in a manner similar to the arrangement of mechanical regulators.
A variable resistance 62 and a variable inductance 63 , the sizes of which can be set according to the desired compilation, are now in a phase of the voltage supplied to the control device - inserted. A current transformer 64 delivers the required control voltage when the phase current increases, by means of the variable resistance and the variable inductance. The voltage, which is a function of the voltage drop in terms of phase and magnitude, is assigned to the control loop.
eiiihrt. The triangular voltages. The voltages supplied to the control device are not balanced and if the power factor is lagging, the voltages supplied to the control device are the same. that in t2 the regulated voltage tries to rise above that with the same load with leading power factor t ', or in other words, normal voltage drop compensation is achieved.
If two or more synchronous machines are working in parallel, then it is necessary to regulate the reactive power, provided that there is sufficient reactance between the two machines.
For this purpose, a further current transformer 65 is provided in a different phase and supplies an additional control voltage by means of a variable real dance 66 , which adds to the triangular voltages of the primary voltage 41 of the transformer -, which makes the voltages asymmetrical in the desired direction, so that the current is divided in the parallel .Nfaschinen according to their Z-VA designs.
It may be desirable when using the control system for generators and reactive power machines. Means are to be provided which edit the output current of the regulated machine and keep the output current el t essentially constant when a predetermined value above the full load limit is reached.
For this purpose a device is provided that is influenced by the output current of the regulated machine and takes over the control of the grids of the main vessels when the output current of the machine reaches a predetermined value above the full load value. A current transformer 67. which is inserted into one of the phase lines z) and excites an n intermediate transformer 68 is used for this. A suitable resistor 69 is parallel to the primary winding of the transformer 68 and is adjustable.
The secondary winding of the transformer 68 is connected to the input terminals of a rectifier 70, which is preferably also contained like the rectifiers 38, 939 and 40 dry rectifiers. The DC output voltage of the rectifier is applied to the input terminals of the bridge arrangement. The output voltage of the rectifier 70 is dimensioned by means of the resistor 69 . that it is smaller than the rectified voltage of the rectifiers 38, 39 and 40 for each current value below the predetermined load value.
With this parallel arrangement of rectifiers, there is no possibility of returning current, since the two groups of rectifiers only allow current to pass in one direction.
At the predetermined load value, however, the terminal voltage t3 of the regulated machine will slowly decrease and to the same extent as the output voltage of the rectifiers 38, 39 and 40 below that of the rectifier If B> 70 falls, the control and the input voltage of the bridge will now be determined by the output voltage of the rectifier 70 .
With the voltage that is controlled by the current, the regulating device will try to keep the output current essentially constant until the voltage is regulated in the manner described below.
For a better understanding of the complete way of working, it is advisable to first look at the way the controls work. The alternating voltage of circuit 2 is first stepped down to a suitable voltage, which can be 220 volts, for example, by the transformer 37. This voltage is converted by the rectifier 38, 39 / B> and 40 rectified. It is important to note that # a rectifier unit is provided for each phase.
The voltages of the three phases of the generator are rectified and connected to terminals 44 and 45 of the voltage-sensitive bridge arrangement. -If the total DC voltage that is fed to the bridge has the correct value, which corresponds to the value n of the AC voltage to be maintained, then the output voltage of the bridge is zero or one predetermined value.
If the alternating voltage exceeds or falls below the prescribed value I M , the tuning, respectively. corresponds to a predetermined detuning, the output voltage also changes and is either positive or negative with respect to the equilibrium voltage applied to the bridge. The size of this output voltage depends on the amount by which the applied, ele2te voltage,
deviates from the value. which corresponds to the agreed value. The output voltage of the bridge is fed to the third of the discharge vessel 47. whose mode of operation in the control loop will now be explained in more detail.
The. characteristic working property of the bridge is to be explained with reference to FIG. 2, in which the curve D in general the change, the differential voltage, D against the input voltage E, which is a function of the 'alternating voltage. represents. It may be assumed that the bridge is adjusted until the differential voltage A is reached at the open circuit voltage of the generator 1 . This setting is primarily caused by the resistance 42, but the resistance 46 can also be used for this purpose.
If the load on the generator increases, the generator voltage will decrease and the bridge will be detuned. The output voltage, which is now in place of the value A eni -'-, will approximately assume the value B, which is smaller than the aforementioned value.
The output voltage serves as a negative bias voltage for the grid of the discharge vessel 47, so that the change in the voltage difference C between the value A and B shifts the effective grid voltage in a positive direction, so that the Ent Charge vessel 47 carries more electricity.
This discharge vessel thus amplifies the differential voltage, and since the anode current increases the resistance 32 in the grid circle of the vessels 17, 18 and 19 < / B> feeds, these vessels will consequently carry more current and thus increase the output of the generator 1 . For : Z the amplifier circuit, it is preferred to use a discharge vessel with a large gradient and high resistance in the anocular circuit in order to increase the sensitivity of this circuit or, more precisely, to improve the control effect.
The special type of control has already been explained in the first part of the description with reference to Fig. 3. It is only noted here that it is possible on sieve , to feed the voltage taken from the bridge arrangement directly to the grids of the grid-controlled steam or gas discharge vessels. By inserting #, en of the Entlaclun (Ysoefässes 47 ZD kn Zl # I however,
to amplify the voltage changes and thereby to achieve an increased reference sensitivity. It can be achieved that, if, for example, the voltage to be regulated changes by about one volt, the voltage across the resistor 32 Control equilibrium voltage component changes such that the mean value of the current flowing through vessels 17, 18 and 19 is regulated between its minimum and maximum value.
Because there is only one value for arousal. who fulfills the condition for a given tension and load, the tension will adjust itself until the correct excitation and the correct tension is reached.
The working group of the control device shown in Fig. 1 is essentially as follows: The start-up is carried out by means of switch 6 in the position shown, with the exciter machine initially turning itself achieved. By changing the resistance 16 , the excitation and thus the voltage of the generator 1 is set for the normal idling value.
When the AC voltage has reached the correct value, -the cathodes of the vessels 17, 18 and 19 are heated by the transformer 23 . As soon as the vessels have reached the correct working temperature, switch 15 is closed and the wire switch is thrown so that the field winding 5 from circle 2 over the vessels < B> 17, 18 and 19 is fed.
It is assumed that the bridge is set in such a way that the voltage A is applied to the grid of the discharge vessel 47, so that the output current of the vessels 17, 18 n - and 19 supplies the field current required for the open circuit voltage of the generator 1 .
If the load on the generator now increases, its voltage will decrease, which causes the bridge to be detuned. Dif, the output voltage of the bridge will change from value A to value B.
The, # o 1) interference voltage B is smaller than the preceding value, so that the grid voltage of the discharge vessel 47 is changed to positive friction, since the differential voltage itself has a negative sign Change in the grid voltage in a non-positive direction increases the anode current of the discharge vessel 47 and causes an increased voltage drop at the resistor 31 This effect already shown above.
increases the mean value of the output flow of the vessels 17, 18 and 19 and tries to bring the voltage of the generator 1 back to its normal value.
So that it can be determined how the regulated voltage can now be under the correct conditions, reference is made to the curves in FIG > J. of the output current of the vessels 17, 18 and 19 is shown. The horizontal line N shows the Excitation on, rll (, when idling eTforderlieli is. Line II is the excitation for half load and line F is the excitation for full load.
The greater the sensitivity of the control circuit, or the more the line shown reaches the vertical, the smaller the Xn-derun.o, the regulated voltage will be.
The change in the regulated voltage as a function of the load is illustrated in Fig. 5, in which the typical voltage curves of the generator for no-load (E ") and full load (E,) with power factor 1 depending on the excitation current 3, are shown.
Another voltage curve E, is an-, e-flat, this is dependent on the mean value of the current J, of the vessels 17, 18 </ B > and 19 applied. The interaction of E, with the other voltage curves now enables the voltage to be regulated for every load and every power factor. The greatest deviation - #. T) m idling will occur at full load and the smallest power factor.
By increasing the sensitivity of the control loop, it is possible to make the course of the curve E, almost horizontal and reduce the deviation between idle and full load.
To explain the mode of operation of the feedback elements, which prevent over-regulation, we first assume that the load on the generator is zero and that the regulated voltage is equal to the normal no-load voltage. If the load is suddenly switched on, the voltage supplied to the bridge is reduced, and as a result the voltage supplied to the grid circuit of the discharge vessel 47 changes.
A small change is inserted directly into the lattice circle of the vessel by means of a capacitor 60 and an attempt is made to increase the field excitation by enlarging the lattice tension of the vessels. At the same moment, the current # will begin to flow through the resistor 58 and the capacitor 59 will try to change the grid voltage of the discharge vessel in the right direction.
The constants of these resistors and capacitors are selected and set in such a way that there is a time delay before the # --- pannuna can be seen on the grille of the discharge vessel z71 C ZD builds up to a notable size. The time constant of this control circuit should preferably be approximately equal to the time constant of the excitation circuit.
As soon as the voltage of the exciter 4 begins to grow, a voltage is generated across the resistor 56, the polarity of which is such that it tries to reduce the anode current of the vessel 47 and consequently also the excitation of the Exciter machine 4 as soon as it exceeds the required value for the correct field excitation at the new CD load value.
Since the span now (r at the resistor 56 changes #exponeutiell in relation to the time, if the resistor 56 and capacitor 57 are chosen correctly If, so , the tension to prevent overregulation will disappear as soon as it has reached its correct value. This characteristic allows the re-u ler to compensate for sudden increases or decreases in the load and is very important when the generator is operating above its static limit.
The capacitor 57 performed a very valuable function, since it enables a practically instantaneous change in the grid voltage of the discharge vessel and thus compensates for the reduction in the generator voltage due to the armature reactance. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 6, the generator field is controlled immediately, without the usual exciter machine. Otherwise the arrangement corresponds to that in Fig. 1, with the exception of small changes.
The damping and quickly responding elements, in particular W; - derstancl 58, capacitor 59 and capacitor 60, are no longer required because the time constant the exciter has come in failure. However, the effect of the anchor reactance does exist and care must be taken to ensure that it is compensated.
Since the armature reactance is load-dependent, the compensation can be achieved by directing a current that is proportional to the load current and directing this voltage to the circuit for preventing the merre (yelns ein eD in As shown, a current transformer 71 is provided for this in the circuit, which is inserted into one of the phase lines 2 and which excites an intermediate transformer 72 .
An adjustable resistor 73 is parallel to the primary winding of the transformer 72. The secondary winding of the transformer 72 is connected to the input terminals of a straightener 74, for example As a dry rectifier, similar to rectifiers 38, 39 and 40. The DC voltage of the rectifier is via resistor 56 on capacitor 57 , just like the voltage of the exciter was connected to the capacitor 57 via resistor 56 .
A capacitor 75 is parallel to the DC terminals of the rectifier in order to reduce the harmonics of the rail voltage of the rectifier.
In this case, however, the polarity of the rectified SS voltage is reversed when it is fed to the feedback circuit consisting of resistor 56 and capacitor 57, so that with increasing load, the mean value of the output current mes the vessels 17.
18 and 19 C , whereby every change in the generator voltage due to the armature reaction is anticipated. The amount (of the voltage inserted at this point in the circle , which is necessary to achieve the correct compensation, must have a certain value.
In most working conditions, a roll setting of the size of the inserted voltage and the constants of the resistor 56 and capacitor 57 is sufficient, but in cases where the core generator Above the statiselien Bela.stuno, so Renze works, it may be necessary to adjust all these values precisely for the machine in question.
The mode of operation of this modified embodiment is essentially the same as that in Fiol. 1 and differs from it only in that the Erreuermaseliine 4 is allowed and Z, ZD the.Means for preventing overregulation work with a different sign.
