Circuit arrangement for automatic and semi-automatic telephone systems. The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for automatic and semi-automatic telephone systems, in which connections are established via lines equipped with voice current amplifiers, and is characterized in that means are provided to transmit the dialing-controlling pulses independently of the voice current amplifiers .
With this circuit arrangement, a pulse transmission device independent of the voice amplifiers can be provided in each voice current amplifier station for forwarding the selection-controlling pulses from one device to another.
In this case, this pulse transmission provision can include an electron transmission, and a common pulse output circuit that is independent of the individual speech circuits can also be provided for a number of speech circuits.
In the exemplary embodiment of the drawing, there are 1 ″ 3, 4 and 6 speech circuits of a cable line that are directly connected to four corresponding telephone lines. The latter are shown in dashed lines in the drawing. 2 and 5 are further speech circuits that are assigned to two phantom circuits superimposed on the four main lines mentioned. B 1, B 2 etc. represent speech current amplification units that are added to the individual speech circuits parts are.
Any suitable ringing current amplifier RB 1, RR 2, etc. is attached to each of these speech power amplifiers. The illustrated arrangement of this circuit is, as a whole, similar to the arrangement described in Patent No. 126,310.
In this arrangement, the voting takes place in the phantom group via a common impulse galaxy circuit. This circuit is superimposed on the phantom circuits and is referred to below as the ghost circuit. Due to the special dialing arrangement used, a battery potential is applied to the grid of a tube at the far end of the circuit with each impulse via one side of the ghost circuit.
At intervals, the filament is applied to the grid via one side of the spirit circuit, contacts of the number disk, and an earth potential on the other side of the spirit circuit. The charging and discharging of the cable sections of an amplifier section thus takes place via a circuit with practically negligible resistance. The time it takes for the voltage applied to the tube to build up and break down is therefore extremely short. This arrangement practically eliminates any distortion of the pulses.
The arrangement of the tube circuits in the amplifier station and at the far end of the leads of an amplifier section is similar to the arrangement described in patent no. 126310. A tube V 1 is provided in the amplifier station, the grid of which is earthed via a high-resistance r 1 . Furthermore, the grid of this tube is grounded over the upper two, the spirit circuit, the break contact of the numbered objects and the lower branch of the spirit circuit.
The latter circuit is interrupted intermittently by actuating the dial. During this period the battery potential is impressed on the grid of the tube via r 3 and a branch of the ghost circuit. By closing the impulse contact of the number disc, the applied potential is shunted across the other branch of the spirit circuit. This bypass is very effective because the spirit circuit has very low resistance.
The potential changes in the grid of the tube V 1 cause a corresponding pull-up and drop-out of the relay LI in the anode circuit. The arrangement of the contacts of this relay is similar to that of the number disk SD, in that through the armature of the relay the grid of the tube V 2 is alternately connected to the earth or ( read bafterie potential.
The pulses are thereby transmitted via the second amplification or Line section of the tube V 2 present at the receiving end is transmitted in exactly the same way as has been described, and cause the relay L 2 in the anode current circuit of this tube to work, which is connected to the Circuits IC 1, IC 2 or IC 3 connected devices operated.
Only a single voice current amplifier station is shown in the drawing, but it is readily apparent that there can be a number of such similarly equipped stations 7 for amplification and forwarding. The arrangement used for drawing symbols over the lines and for closing the working circuits of the tubes can expediently be made similar to that described in the patent mentioned. The special speech circuit that is to be used can be marked by the preceding transmission of a ringing surge.
This ringtone then actuates a holding relay (not shown), which in turn actuates a relay to close the filament and grid circuits of the tubes and one of the relays C 1, C 2 or C 3 through a pulse circuit controlled by the relay L 2 to the individual pulse receiving circuits whose conductors rr 1, rr 52 and rr 3 are connected to the contacts of the individual ringing current relays of the line.
The connected in series with the 48, volt grid battery and the number disk SD respectively. Protective resistors r 3 and r 4 added to the contacts of El are provided to prevent the current flowing through the phantom group coils when an insulation fault occurs in the cable to keep below a certain value. To prevent clicking noises in the nearby circuits when dialing via a ghost circuit, a small choke coil can be switched on.
It can also be seen that in the exemplary embodiment described, in each intermediate amplifier station one branch of the ghost circuit stood above a high resistance and the other branch is directly grounded. The voltage drop across the high resistance is pressed onto the grid of the tube whose anode current actuates the relay LI. The contacts of this relay replace, as has been indicated above, the Num mernscheibe for the next section.
The capacity of each cable section is charged and discharged in this way via a circuit, the resistance of which is practically negligible, so that the time required to build up the voltage across the resistance is extremely small. llt, and as mentioned, no serious distortion of the impulses can occur.
In the end station the arrangement of the tube is similar, except that the anode relay, instead of transmitting the impulses to another tube, directly controls a dialing device (selector) or a register mechanism by means of its impulse contact.
In the described arrangement, a single dialing circuit is used to operate several speech circuits, and on the receiving side the particular circuit through which a connection is desired is established by means of relays C 1, C 2 or C 2 C 3, which are actuated via the contacts of the individual ringing current relays.
In the case of the intermediate amplifier stations, it is advantageous not to connect the spirit circuits to one another, since as a result, the circuits would hang together over very long distances. In addition, the capacities to be charged and discharged would be very large under these circumstances for each impulse, since the ghost circuit has to be used for forward and return lines. For this reason, the relay tubes are provided in the intermediate stations.
From the description of the present exemplary embodiment it can be seen that, due to this simple arrangement, the structure and wiring and consequently also the mode of operation of the normal amplifier stations for speech communication do not have to be changed, but that the equipment required to transmit the pulses htings can simply be added to the existing equipment.
