Headlight for vehicles. The object of the present invention is a headlight for vehicles, for example automobiles. One embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a vertical longitudinal section of the lighthouse, and FIG. 2 is a plan view thereof partially in horizontal section.
The headlight comprises an outer box 9 'of the usual shape and mounted on an arm 23 fixed to the vehicle. The reflector 1 of the headlight pivots on two vertical pivots affixed to each other, one of which consists of a tightening screw 7, screwed into the box 9 and provided with a conical tip which engages in a conical recess of a boss 14 integral with the reflector. ' The second pivot 4 serves at the same time as a support for the lamp 3 of the headlight. This pivot is riveted by its lower end in the box 9 and provided with a 19 "let collar.
Above this collar 19n is a ring 19 fixed to the reflector by the intermediary of an arm 20, the pivotb4 passing freely through said ring and the reflector 2. Between the collar 19a and the ring are arranged balls. bearing 18. On the ring 19 is fixed a vertical rod 21 qhi carries the small reflector 2 intended to project the light of the lamp 3 on the reflector 1. In the center of its rear face the reflector 1 carries an arm 11 located in the extension of the optical axis of the reflector and to which a weight 24 is fixed. This arm is subjected to the action of two springs 22 which tend to hold the arm in the drawn position (fig. 2).
The headlight described operates as follows: If the vehicle turns, while it is moving, to the right the weight of the arm 11 turns to the left and carries with it the large and small reflectors 1, respectively 2 and if the vehicle turns to the left the weight will turn right. Consequently, the reflectors rotate, during each change of the vehicle, in a direction which is equal to the direction of said change of direction, so that the rays projected by the headlight continually follow the route taken by the vehicle without any relief from cams or other mechanical means.
The arm and with it the reflectors automatically return to their normal position as a result of the action of the springs 22, when the vehicle stops or follows a straight road.
