welche in Nuten 59, in der Platte 36 eingrei fen. Die Lineale sind vorzugsweise so, ange- ordnet, da3- der vor der Maschine stehende Arbeiter ein Lineal auf der linken Hand und das andere zwischen sich und dem Arbeits- stüzlk hat, durch welche Anordnung die Mess- massnahmen vereinfacht werden, weil die Ab stände dann abgetragen werden können in vollständiger Übereinstimmung mit der Ar beitszeichnung;
13 an die-Lineale 40 beze:
41 herangesahöben, und der Aufsp.anntisch 16 darauf zuerst mit- felst der Kurbel 20 oder 21, und -dann mit- telst der Kurbel 24 so7 R=eit geschoben;
Es ist hierbei zu bemer ken, dass bei der Einstellung des Aäfspaain= tisches sehr darauf geachtet werden muss, class die Lehrklötze nicht reit zu grössei Kraft gegen die-Iessansehlä;gä bedrückt -werden, da es wohl bekannt ist, dass die Genauigkeit;

Dis shown in Figs. 1 and 2 milling machine is with. a vertical work tool age spindle 1, which is mounted in a bearing dock 2, namely by means of a displaceable sleeve 3 in which the spindle is rotatable but not displaceable, and which in the vertical direction in decorative dock 2 by means of a hand lever 4 and a rack and pinion gear can be adjusted for the purpose of pressing the tool against the workpiece.
The bearing dock 2 itself can be ver in the vertical direction by means of a handwheel 5 under the mediation of a worm on the shaft of the handwheel and a worm wheel 6 on a screw 7, which is mounted vertically in the Maschi nengestelle and 'is provided with a nut 8, which is firmly connected to the storage door 2 movable along a guide 9.
The drive of the spindle 1 takes place in the usual way by a belt which has a drive roller 10, two guide rollers 11 and. a roller 12 is guided, the latter with one in a groove of the spindle. 1 sliding wedge is provided. The roller 12 is therefore always transferred to the spindle, without taking part in the vertical movement of the spindle itself.
The column 14 of the machine has an angled table 15, which carries a lower support 19 with a clamping table 16 of the usual type. The clamping table 16 is adjustable in the horizontal longitudinal direction by means of a screw 17, which is mounted on both ends in the table 16 and works together with a nut 18 firmly connected to the lower support 19. The screw in question is at each end with a crank 20 BEZW. 21 provided.
The lower support 19 can be understood in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the mounting table 16 ', specifically by means of a screw 22, which is mounted at its ends in the angled table 75 and with a nut 23 firmly connected to the lower support 19 cooperates. The relevant screw 22 can be turned by means of a crank 24.
The angle table 15 is slidably arranged in a vertical slide guide on the stand 14 and can be adjusted upwards or downwards by means of a screw 26, which is provided with a crank 27 and by means of a snow gear with a vertical, the angle fish 14 bearing and in -Foot of the machine screwed screw spindle 28 is gekup pelt.
The storage dock 2 is provided with a downward facing approach 29, which means a screw 31 on the lower. horizontal surface of the attachment bracket 30 carries. The console in question is provided at its outer end facing away from the stand 14 with a bore hole 32 coaxial with the spindle 1 and a fixed 141essanschlag for a set of the work piece relative to the spindle 1 serving approach 33.
For the relevant purpose, said approach is to see with a carefully crafted, with the Bolirlo, ch 32 and the spindle 1 concentric rule cylindrical peripheral surface 34 ver. The hole 32 is wide enough to let the tool 35 pass through it without touching the wall of the hole. In some circumstances it may be necessary to control the tool and a guide sleeve can be inserted into the hole 32 for this purpose.
In order to enable a horizontal adjustment of the console 30 for careful adjustment of the projection 33 in an equiaxed position rela tively to the spindle 1, the holes of the console through which the screws 31 go through, conveniently larger than the screw thickness.
On the clamping table 16 there is a ring clamping plate or holder 36 for the work piece, FIGS. 3, 4, 5, consisting of a right-angled plate provided with clamping block 37 for fastening the holder to the clamping table. The plate in question is also along two sides of the same, each with a fixed bar-38- respectively. 39 see.
Rulers 40, 41 are provided on the upper side of the strips concerned, which can be firmly attached in their places by means of screws 42 restricted in the strips and through holes in the rulers, the holes being wider, than the diameters of the screws to allow some degree of fine adjustment of the rulers on the ledges.
The rulers in question form stops for precise adjustment of the work piece 43 with reference to the spindle 1, the rulers being used as a coordinate system and the distances between the rulers and the cylindrical measuring surface 34 of the fixed measuring, deflection 33 being measured on the console 30 . For this purpose, the rulers can be adjusted exactly perpendicular to each other.
But they can also be set in a different angular position opposite each other, if this should be necessary in special cases. In order to enable the lines to be set quickly in the desired position, two fixed measuring stops 44 are provided on each strip, each of which consists of a conical steel plug which, in order to be held in an immovable position, is provided in a conical hole in the bar is plugged and carries a button which is provided with a measuring surface in the form of a surface of revolution with a vertical axis.
The adjustment of the rulers with regard to these stops can be carried out by means of final dimensions in the form of teaching blocks which are inserted between the measuring surfaces of the aforementioned stops and the rear edge of the rulers.
The rear and front edges of the rulers are preferably exactly parallel to one another. In front of each bar 38 and 39 and parallel to the same there is another bar or lath 45 respectively. 46 attached as a carrier for - adjusting screws 47, by means of which the workpiece 43 can be fixed on the plate <B> 36 '</B>.
The aforementioned slats 45, 46 are preferably relatively thin. and soft, in order to spare the plate 36 bending stresses which could be caused by the screws 4: r, and by which: before the position of the rulers could otherwise be disturbed. Around. To make the screws 47 easily accessible, there are horizontal holes in the strips: 38 and 39 opposite the screws.
The two strips 38, 39 can, as can be easily seen, be made in one piece in the form of an angle. . 'The rectangular work piece 43 -will be attached to the platen 36. with two sides parallel to the rulers 40 and 41, namely the same is preferably placed on four base plates 49, 50, 51, 52, of which the.
the last screwed against the lower side of the work piece and fastened to the plate 36 by means of a screw 53 passing through a hole in the plate 52, the hole being somewhat greater than the screw thickness; to allow a small displacement of the workpiece. The thickness of the plates 49-52 is chosen so that the top of the work piece comes in the same area with the top of two rails 54, 55, which are screwed together with the slats 45, 46 and serve to position the measuring devices .
The distance between the rulers 40, 41 and the inner surfaces of the aforementioned rails 54, 55 and the slats 45, 46 is expediently lower than half the diameter of the fixed cylindrical measuring surface 34,
in order to enable the attachment of the work piece with its sides facing the rulers at a distance from the rulers equal to half the diameter of the aforementioned measuring cylinder, which simplifies the measuring measures. After the workpiece has been adjusted by means of the screws 47, it is fastened in its place by means of clamping brackets 56, 57 and bolts 58.
which fen in grooves 59 in the plate 36 einrei. The rulers are preferably arranged in such a way that the worker standing in front of the machine has one ruler on his left hand and the other between himself and the work piece, which arrangement simplifies the measuring measures because the distances can then be removed in full compliance with the work designation;
in which the aces are calculated from the left and from the lower part.
Before the measurements are carried out, the folder plate 36 of the work piece is securely attached to the mounting table 16, and the rulers 40, 41 are adjusted perpendicular to each other, with one, 41, of the rulers preferably being placed parallel to the one direction of movement of the mounting table 16 ' becomes.
The work piece 43 is then adjusted by means of the screws 47 so that its sides become parallel to the rulers at a distance from the ruler edges equal to half the diameter of the fixed measuring element, hit 33, whereupon the work piece is set by means of the screw 53 and the < B>. </B> clamping devices 56-, 57,
58 on - is screwed into place. The desired distances> can now be removed in a suitable manner from the rulers, namely by means of final dimensions in the form of teaching blocks which are attached to the rails 54, 55 and the work piece.
Assume that there is a hole at a distance A de's center from the left side of the workpiece and. a distance B from the front of the workpiece milled who -soll, so first rows of teaching blocks with total length A respectively. 13 to the rulers 40 beze:
41 up and the clamping table 16 pushed onto it first with the crank 20 or 21, and then with the crank 24 so7;
until the teaching blocks touch the measuring cylinder 33. The work piece is thereby brought into the desired position relative to the axis of the spindle 1:
It should be noted here that when setting the Aäfspaain = table, great care must be taken not to force the teaching blocks too much against the - Iessansehlä; gä - be depressed, since it is well known that the accuracy;
of the measurements when using gauge blocks depends to a large extent on the pressure with which the gauge blocks are pressed onto one another. Too much pressure on the blocks can also disturb the position of the rulers and the console.
To prevent excessive pressure, friction clutches can be attached in a known manner between the cranks and the corresponding feed screws to automatically disengage the cranks at a certain "pressure or resistance," or other similar devices can be used for the same purpose.
A special method and arrangement for limiting the pressure on the teaching blocks, which can be used with advantage in connection with the present invention, will be described below with reference to FIGS.
It is clear from the above statements that the described method for the exact setting of the work piece with reference to the spindle of the machine is completely independent of inaccuracies in the movements of the clamping table 16 and the sub-support 19th
If the movements of these parts are not exactly straight or not exactly perpendicular to each other, this has no influence, due to the fact that there are measurements between the rulers, which are firmly connected to the workpiece and one firmly attached to the machine th measuring stop can be executed.
In cases where it is to be feared that the rulers have been unintentionally moved during work, it is easy to control any displacement and to adjust the rulers again by measuring the distance between them Stops 4.1 to the rear edge of the rulers 40, 41 by means of teaching blocks or other measuring devices,
such as the one below with reference to the Fiz. -21- to 24 described Liehrkeils. The workpiece holder shown by FIGS. 6, 7 and $ differs from that shown by FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 only in that the special rulers 40, 41 and the fixed stops 44 on the bars 38, 39 are omitted, and instead, the fixed strips 38, 39 are shaped as rulers.
For this purpose, the same are provided with machined measuring surfaces 60, 61, which are arranged perpendicular to each other and perpendicular to the surface of the platen 36 is. The construction of the work piece holder is probably simplified by this, but on the other hand, the holder is not so reliable in use, because in the case of a displacement of the holder during work, a reset of the same in its original position is not always possible, while, however, the adjustable Rulers are difficult to adjust again.
The arrangement of adjustable rulers on the workpiece holder has the further advantage that the rulers can be made more precisely than if they are made in one piece with the carrier plate, as in Fig. 6 to B.
In cases where the workpiece has such a thickness or shape that the clamping plate shown in FIGS. 3 to 8 cannot be used to advantage, the connections for fastening the rulers in a fixed position relative to the work Modify work piece in the manner shown in FIGS. 9 and 10 Darge.
The work piece 43x is here by means of clamping devices 62 directly BEFE Stigt on the clamping table 16 and the rulers 40, 41 are arranged on carriers 63, the latter in the form of angle irons are screwed to the sides of the work piece. In the example shown, a carrier is provided on the shorter side and two carriers on the longer S <B> S </B> side of the workpiece. The upper side of the carrier is arranged at the same height as the top of the workpiece.
The rulers can be screwed to the relevant carrier by means of screws 42, and fixed measuring plugs 44 can be attached to the carrier. Similar to FIG. 3; 4 and 5 are attached. If the sides of the work piece are not carefully worked, it could happen that the angle irons carrying the ruler 41 are fastened in such mutual positions that they cause the line to curve.
To avoid this, washers 42x are provided, wel che spherical, i.ri spherical recesses in the rulers have matching surfaces, and through which the rulers can be adjusted in the horizontal direction regardless of the position of the carrier. Also in this case the rulers are preferably arranged at a distance from the sides of the workpiece equal to the radius of the measuring cylinder 33.
11 to 17 show modified forms of the console 30 and the fixed measuring stop. The console can of course also be attached to the machine frame, specifically to the horizontal surface 30x, FIG. 1, instead of to the dock 2. In the meantime, the console is also attached with screws in wide holes so that it can be adjusted.
In FIGS. 11 and 12, the measuring surface is a rotational surface coaxial with the borehole 32 and having a circular generating line. Obviously any other shape of the surface of revolution that can be easily produced in a lathe or a grinding machine can be used; but in any case the area with the borehole 32 should bezw. be coaxial with the tool holder spindle.
The measuring stop is expediently made in a separate piece from the console, which is fastened to the console by screws 90 and is provided with a cylindrical extension 91) which fits into a hole in the console. The purpose of this arrangement is to be able to change the measuring stop and also to facilitate the adjustment of the surface of rotation with reference to the spindle axis:
This is because it is not always possible, or at least not easy, to precisely adjust the measuring stop only by means of the screws in the holes 30 of the console. Should it be during the control measurement. demonstrate,. that:
the drilling location and the spindle are not of the same size, only the outer cylindrical surface of the projection 91 has the same direction in relation to the surface of rotation, which is between the axes of the spindle and the drilling hole is
In order to keep the measuring surface in sync with the spindle, the hole 32 of the attachment is naturally made concentric with the measuring surface, especially if it is to serve as a guide for the tool. The execution of the measuring stop in a special piece also has the advantage,
that in the event of any damage to the mega-surface at the measuring points, other undamaged areas of the measuring surface can be attached to the measuring points by rotating the measuring attachment. For this purpose, the console is provided with a number of screw holes. 92 provided.
13 and 14, the console is provided with two measuring surfaces 64, 65 in the form of domes or surfaces of revolution, the axes of which lie in the same horizontal plane and perpendicular to one another in such a way that they respectively the axis of the borehole 32. the spindle cut. Each of the two domes forms the outer surface of the hexagonal head of a screw 66 which is screwed into the console. An intermediate washer 67 is arranged between the screw head and the console.
By using washers of different thicknesses, the distances between the spherical caps and the spindle can be varied.
15, 16 and 17 show a console with two vertical and mutually perpendicular real measuring surfaces 68, 69. The console is provided with a hole 32 for the passage of the tool.
The hole in question is preferably arranged at the same intervals in front of the mentioned measuring surfaces and is coaxial with the spindle axis. To be able to determine the correct position of the hole in relation to the spindle, one can use an indicator 76, which is also attached to the tool holder spindle. Rod 71 is screwed on.
The pointer of the indicator in question is at issue. gen. a with the hole 32 coaxial approach 72 arranged, In the case of the indicator retains its position while the spindle executes a full turn, so is .that 3, proof that the console 30 is in its correct position Location is in. Which the axis of the hole 32 coincides with the axis of the spin del.
._, When setting the console 30 should. the measuring surfaces 68 and 69 are placed parallel to the directions of movement of the clamping table 16 and the lower support 19.
If the movements of the clamping table 16 and the lower support 19 are not exactly straight, it could happen that the measuring surfaces 68 and 69 are not exactly parallel to the clamping table in certain positions. the rulers on the Aufspa.nntisch who, and the distances between the measuring surfaces 68 or 69 from the corresponding rulers are then different at different points.
If the inaccuracies of the clamping table and the sub-support are not too great, however, this does not result in any practical disadvantages, provided that the distances are always measured at a point that is closest to the spindle.
The measurement error is then very small and practically of no great importance. But the disadvantage mentioned when using two fixed measuring surfaces set at right angles to each other is completely eliminated if a measuring surface coaxial with the spindle is used, such as the cylinder surface Approach 7 2 or the measuring surfaces according to FIGS. 1 to 14.
A console of the construction shown in FIGS. 15, 16 and 17 is nevertheless less preferable in some cases, in view of the fact that a flat metal surface is significantly more resistant to impressions than a cylindrical measuring surface. Furthermore, a console can be provided with two flat, mutually at right angles to one another. at the. Setting the rulers on the clamping table perpendicular to each other is advantageous. be used as an angle.
_ FIGS. 18, 19 and: 20 show an example. a device for performing i'essaperationen using a fixed stop of the form shown in FIGS. 15, 1Q and 17, with only one set of measuring devices for measuring the distances from one side of the workpiece will be shown.
In the example shown, both the work piece 43 and the rulers are clamped directly to the Aufspanntisüh 16, which is provided with grooves 73 for the clamping bolts for this purpose. The ruler 74 is placed on plates 75, and clamped to the table by means of clamping brackets 76 and bolts 77.
Behind the ruler 74 a second ruler 78 is provided, which serves the same purpose as the fixed measuring plugs 44 in Fig. 3. The latter ruler is similar. like the line 74, attached to plates 79 and clamped to your table with clamping plates 80 and bolts 81. Before the rulers are clamped, both the work piece 43 and the rulers are adjusted in the following manner with respect to the measuring surfaces 68, 69.
Two sets of teaching blocks 82, 83 of suitable total length are attached between the ruler 74 and the measuring surface 68, and other teaching blocks 84 are attached between the two rulers 74, 78, whereupon all teaching blocks and the rulers by means of two clamps 85 and 86 are clamped together, the latter with one end each in recesses 87 in the console 30 are introduced.
The work piece. is now placed against the ruler 74, with the interposition of teaching blocks of a length equal to the difference between the distance of the ruler from the spindle, acbse and the distance to be removed from the side of the work piece.
The rulers 74-78-and the work piece will be. then in their places, clamped on the clamping table -and the clamps and teaching blocks are removed.
In the case that the ruler 74 should be unintentionally adjusted during the measuring process, then: the same can be easily adjusted against the ruler 78 again. Such a displacement of this ruler 74 can be indicated by means of a control indicator attached to each end of the ruler. which is attached to the table and whose contact points are arranged to rest against the rear edge of the ruler 74.
21, 22 and 23 illustrate another device for carrying out the measurements, in which the measurements can be carried out quickly and with great accuracy, and which has a device for achieving a uniform pressure on the teaching blocks. The figures show one end of a bracket 30 with a cylindrical fixed measuring stop 33.
Both the work piece 43 and the rulers are clamped directly onto the clamping device 16. The figures show only one ruler 93 and a corresponding set of measuring devices, while a similar measuring set to the brass is required with respect to the other ruler. A plate 94 is applied to the work piece 43, on which final dimensions in the form of teaching blocks 95, 96, 97 are attached. The teaching block 96 is longer than the others.
The teaching block 97 facing the measuring cylinder 33 has a cylindrical end surface 98, the axis of which is horizontal and the longitudinal widths of the teaching block parallel. The relevant teaching block is provided with an approach 99 at each end. At its one end, the console 30 has a holder in the form of a yoke 100 which is fastened to the console by means of screws 101.
In the legs of the yoke there was a spindle 102 with two levers 103 and 104, which are loose on the spindle and rest with their lower ends against the lugs 99 of the inner block 97 '.
The obern- Endeis of the levers concerned are respectively by springs 1,05, 106 against one end of two pins 107. 108, which are slidable in bores in the upwardly projecting middle part of the yoke, and bear against the ends of a leaf spring 109 fastened to the middle part of the yoke by means of an adjusting screw 110. A control indicator 111 is attached to the console <B> 3 </B> 0, the contact point of which is concerned.
is arranged against the teaching block 96.
Between the cylindrical surfaces of the fixed stop 33 and the teaching block 9 7: a wedge 112 is attached, which is seen ver with a control indicator 114 carrying an extension in the form of a rod 113. The rod 113 carries a bar 115, in which a round rod 116 is slidably arranged. The rod in question is perpendicular to the theoretical cutting edge of the wedge and parallel to the one opposite the plane of the wedge. Side of the rod 113 put.
The same is also provided with a collar 117 at its upper end, and both ends of the rod are rounded off. One end of the rod rests on the top of the teaching block 97, and the upper end is with the contact point of the indicator 114 in contact.
A rod 118 is also screwed into the rod 113, which serves as a handle and as a means for holding the rod 113 in a vertical position, the upper end of the rod being arranged in engagement with a fork or a similar device attached to the console or frame is. The wedge 112 and the indicator 114 connected to it together form a device for measuring or checking the small distance between the fixed measuring stop and the teaching blocks, as explained below.
The table is set as follows: A set of teaching blocks 95, 96 and 97 with a total width equal to the desired distance between the ruler 93 and the measuring cylinder 33, reduced by a suitable measuring unit, which is only a fraction of the relevant one Distance or, for example, about 2.5 mm, is applied to the plate 94.
The clamping table is then advanced by means of its feed screw until the lugs 99 come into contact with the levers 103 and 104, whereupon the movement of the clamping table, in which the spring 109 is now under tension, is continued - is until the distance between the cylindrical surfaces of the teaching block 9 7 and the stop 33 has been equal to the aforementioned measuring unit ge.
In order to be able to determine that this distance has been reached, a teaching block with a thickness equal to the relevant measuring unit can be pushed between the cylindrical surfaces. When checking between the cylindrical surfaces, the axes of which cross at a right angle, the surface adhesion of the teaching block to the measuring surfaces is negligible, and the control is therefore very precise. After the clamping table has been set in its correct position, the control indicator 111 can be brought to rest against the teaching block 96.
This indicator can now be used for further adjustments of the clamping table, instead of the loose gauge block 97, to check the distance, provided that the same gauge block 97 is used next to the fixed stop and that the contact point of the indicator is against it adjacent teaching block 96 is brought. It is then only necessary to adjust the cutting table until the indicator assumes the position previously indicated.
In practice, it is advantageous if the small distance in question always has the same size, so. that the spring 109 always presses the teaching blocks together with the same pressure, which is of great importance for the accuracy of the measurements.
The wedge 112 and the associated indicator 114 together form another means of determining the distance between the cylindrical surfaces in question. When the wedge has been inserted between the two cylindrical surfaces, the indicator 114 will: on a scale the <B> Ab- </B> indicated between the mentioned surfaces, provided that it is empirically classified for this purpose . The horny and his indicator can of course also be used as a zero instrument when eating the distance.
The same can preferably be used in conjunction with a teaching, the latter consisting of a vertical cylinder and a teaching block, which is exactly the same as the intermediate block 97 and which is attached with its cylindrical surface at a distance from the vertical cylinder exactly the same as the distance to be controlled. If the wedge is now set against the relevant doctrine, then in every special case the position of the pointer on the scalra corresponding to the relevant spacing can be checked.
In those cases where the fixed measuring stop has a measuring surface with a curved heel, the end surface of the gauge block 98 should be flat, as FIG. 24 shows.
After unscrewing the adjusting screw 110 and removing the spring 109, the teaching blocks can be removed without disturbing the position of the clamping table. The rod 118 is preferably to be provided with a counterweight 119 in order to balance the weight of the indicator 114.
It is evident that the measuring devices which have been described with reference to FIGS. 21 to 24 can also be used in machines other than milling and drilling machines of the type described above, and in general they can be used for precise control of the distance between two surfaces or edges can be used.
