Rear leg for velocipedes and motorcycles. There are many devices that allow both to disassemble and reassemble the rear wheel of velocipeds and motorcycles, but either their operation leaves something to be desired, or their construction is too complicated and does not allow disassembly and reassembly in a short time.
The rear bracket for velocipeds and motorcycle cycles which are the subject of the present invention differs essentially from the known types by the simplicity of its construction and the speed of operations, a particularly advantageous quality and sought after by riders whose rear hub is often worn. two gears of different multiplication.
This rear lug is characterized in that the actual lug is constituted by a crown carried by the fittings of the tubes and provided with an entry for the axis of the hub, this axis being able to be maintained at any point on the inner periphery of the hub. this crown by discs having a notch for the passage of the axle and blocked, on either side of the lug, in a variable determined position, by a wing nut mounted on the axle of the hub, the latter can be displaced eccentrically with respect to the center of the dropout, in order to obtain a quick assembly and disassembly of the wheel and without tools and a suitable tension of the chain.
Thanks to this arrangement, even in the event that the chain breaks, the rear wheel cannot come out of the clutches, the chain is tensioned automatically by eccentric locking without a key, using the aid. with a simple wing nut.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the fully assembled leg; Fig. 2 shows only the leg; Fig. 3 represents the offset discs; Fig. 4 is a section through @ -B of FIG. 1. As shown in fig. 2, the tab itself is hollowed out internally so as to form a crown I with an opening 2.
Against the tab on either side thereof, are fixed by means of screws 3, discs 4 and 5. The disc 4 has a groove 6 into which the circular rib 7 of the disc 5 penetrates after passing through the recess of leg I.
The discs 4 and 5 are both cut in the form of a claw 8, the opening of which is sufficient to allow the axle 9 of the hub of the rear wheel to pass. These discs being mounted on the leg, their corresponding claw 8 can naturally be moved eccentrically around the center 0 of the leg, so as, for example, to occupy one of the positions marked in dotted lines in FIG. 2. In this way, it will be possible to vary the chain tension by a length equal to the double radius of eccentricity, passing through the intermediate positions.
To obtain this result, it will suffice to loosen the wing nut 10 mounted on the axle 9 and intended to hold the discs tight against the lug. This tightening can be forced by providing the face of the nut 10 in contact with one of the discs 4 with suitable teeth II.
As the pin 9 is always maintained between the claws 8 on the one hand and the crown 1 of the tab on the other hand, it cannot be slackened in the event of the chain breaking. In addition, by the simple handling of the wing nut 10, one can easily move the discs, made integral with one another by the screws 3, so as to carry the axis 9 to the right or to the right. the left, depending on the chain tension.
