Abstract
L'invention concerne des diffuseurs à fibre optique servant à émettre de la lumière de manière cylindrique sur une longueur du diffuseur (38), avec des distributions d'intensités lumineuses présélectionnées, sur la longueur du diffuseur. Cette partie de diffuseur est définie par formation d'une distribution de centres de diffusion dans une section de l'âme de la fibre optique (34) possédant une indice de réfraction modulé qui permet de coupler la lumière radialement hors de la fibre, le long de la section du diffuseur. La distribution de l'intensité de la lumière couplée hors de la section du diffuseur de la fibre est commandée par la régulation du profil de l'indice de réfraction modulé, à savoir le coefficient de couplage, le long de la longueur du réseau. La réalisation d'un réseau dans une fibre multimode constitue un procédé de contrôle des transmissions dans la fibre, étant donné qu'une partie de la lumière peut être couplée à l'extérieur, détectée et interrogée. Ces dispositifs diffuseurs peuvent être utilisés comme capteurs, puisqu'ils couplent également la lumière incidente sur le diffuseur dans l'âme où elle est transmise à un détecteur.
