Abstract

On élabore un acier calmé et dégazé sous vide à très bas carbone renfermant en poids, entre 0,10 et 0,35 % de manganèse, moins de 0,006 % d'azote, moins de 0,025 % de phosphore, moins de 0,020 % de soufre, moins de 0,020 % de silicium, au plus 0,08 % d'un au moins des éléments cuivre, nickel et chrome ainsi que de l'aluminium. On coule l'acier sous forme d'une brame, on lamine la brame à chaud pour obtenir une tôle laminée à chaud, on bobine la tôle laminée à chaud, on lamine a froid la tôle laminée à chaud en deux opérations de laminage séparées par un recuit continu. L'acier renferme au plus 0,006 % en poids de carbone et 0.010 % d'aluminium et la tôle laminée à chaud est bobinée à une température inférieure à 620.degree.C. De préférence, l'acier est calmé par brassage avec un laitier comportant des quantités ajustées d'aluminium et d'alumine.
