The cutters 5, 5 are supported by cutter units 8, 8 and the supported cutters 5, 5 separate or approach with res-pect to the direction of the pipe member P under cutting. Guide rails 9 are laid in the width of the foot 4. The cutters 5, 5 move as the cutter units 8, 8 transfer on the guide rails 9. Each of the cutter units 8 is provided with a cutter driving motor 10, and -the driving force of the motor 10 is transmitted to the cutter 5 via a reduction gear (not shown).
On the foot 4, the clamp device 6 is provided adjacent to the cutters 5, 5. That is, a supporter 11 stands on the foot 4 for holding the clamp 6, and clamps 12, 12 are mounted on the supporter 11 and the foot 4, respectively.

50 that they hold the pipe member P at both sides. The clamps 12 comprise the supporter 11, fixing members 13 secured to the support 11 and the foot 4, cylinders 14 secured to the members 13, a roller holder 15 provided on the rod of the cylinder 14, and clamp rollers 16 which are rotatably provided at four positions of the roller holder 15. The clamp rollers 16 of the clamps 12, 12 separate or approach with respect to the direction of the member P under cutting.
A chuck device 7 for the member P is provided adjacent the clamp device 6. The chuck device 7 of this embodiment comprises a scroll chuck. A main body 17 of the chuck device 7 is rotatably prouided to a proper supporter on the foot 4, and is rotated by the driving force of the motor and the gear mechanism. The main body 17 is rotated while it chucks the member P under cutting~
In addition to the above mentioned structure, there are respectively provided transfer rolls 1~ at an exit side of the foot 4 in the transfer line L, and pinch rollers 19 at an entrance side thereof. With respect to the transfer roll 18, cylinders 20, 20 are fixed to the foot 4, and a roller support 21 is fixed on ends of rods of the cylinders.
A roll 18 is equipped on the roller support 21 vla a bearing, and a roller driving motor 22 is furnished thereon. The transfer roller 18 is movable vertically by the cylinders 20, 20. With respect to the pinch roller 19, cylinders 23, - 23 are fixed on the foot 4, and a roller 24 is fixed on ends of rods of the cylinders. A lower roller 25 i5 equipped on the roller support 24 via a bearing. The lower roller 30 25 is movable vertically by the cylinders 23, 23. At the B~

With respect to the pinch roller 19, the lower roller 25 is a driving roller driven by the motor 28, and the upper roller 27 is an idle roller to effect breaking of -the transferred member to be cut.
The support roller 1 (or la) is supported on a ~oot 32 via cylinder 32. That is, the cylinders 33, 33 are mounted on the foot 32, and a roller supporter 34 is fixed on ends of rods of the cylinders. The support roller 1 is provided on the roller supporter 34 via a bearing, and a motor 35 is furnished for driving the support roller 1.
The support roller 1 is vertically movable by means of the cylinders 33, 33.
The cutting apparatus A and the support roller 1 are not always limited to the above mentioned structural embodiment. For example, the pipe member P may be stationary while the rotating cutter is whirled as planets around the pipe member, and structure to be required to such process could be mounted on the foot 4. As the cutters there may be employed cutting tools, grinders and the like. Further, on each foot 4 or 32, partial omission, alternation or addition of the above mentioned various mechanisms may be effected.
Especially, in the present invention, a plurality of cutting devices are disposed in the line direction, and in the cutting apparatus, the plurality of cutting devices is not always the same in structure, and there exists the opportunity for partial omission, alternation or addition of the structure for each of the cutting devices. For example, the chuck devices are prepared f~r all the cutting devices, but the rotary driving mechanism thereof need not necessarily be furnished to all the chuck devices. In the present example, the rollers of the transfer line (transfer roller 18 and support roller 1) are driving rollers, but the idle roller may be partially substituted therefor. The pinch rollers 19 may be positioned at optional places of the cutting devices, and the support roller 1 may be replaced with the pinch roller. It is preferable to provide the pinch rollers 19 for each of the cutting devices or the support rollers, but there is no limitation thereto. It is sufficient to provide the pinch roller at one position of the cutting machine or the support roller at least at the entrance of the transfer line.
In order to move the cutting apparatus A and the support roller 1 on the guide rails 3, the beds 2 are provided with racks 29, 29 along the guide rails 3, 3. Under the feet 4 and 32 of the cutting apparatus and the support roller, there are arrangedpinions 31, 31 gearing the racks 29, 29 20 and to be driven by the motors 30 and 36. The pinions 31, 31 transfer the cutting apparatus A and the support roller 1 in the transfer line. For this trans~er system, a cylinder system or the like may be employed.
In the present example, the exit end cutting device A6 is stationary, and has the same structure as those of the other cutting devices, excepting that it is stationary. The reference numeral 37 in Fig. 1 designates roller tables.
The invention is not limited to having the exit end cutting device stationary and the others movable in the line direction. That is, all of the cutting devices may be ~9~ 2 structured as movable, or one or more than two may be structured as stationary.
A further reference will be made to actuation of the cutting machine of the present invention. The cutting machine as mentioned above could cut the plurality of parts of the pipe member simultaneously. Herein an explanation will be made to this regard.
Prior to entrance for transferring of the pipe member, the cutting apparatus A is positioned in accordance with the desired cutting length. For example, if a pipe member of 60m is to be cut at four point, the cutting is under-taken at five parts of the member including cropping off.
Therefore, the apparatus A is moved in the bed 2 such that the five cutting devices are positioned at 15m intervals, and at the same time the support rollers are moved to center points between the cutting devices. Core alignment is provided bet-ween the member P and the cutters 5, 5 by vertically moving the transfer roller 18 (or idle roller ) and the pinch roller 19 (the upper roller 27 and the lower roller 25) by the cylinder.
Under this condition, the member P is transferred by the transfer roller 18. The transferred member P comes to the determined position as breaking by!the pinch roller 19.
Breaking of the pinch roller 19 is to synchronize the speed of the transfer roller 18 and member P so that they do not slip from each other, thereby to position the mémber P as determined only by control of the transfer roller 18, without using a stopper or similar means. However, the present invention may use a stopper as conven-tionally.
The member P transferred in the above manner is . g _ ~31~62 chucked by means of the chuck device 7 as well as vertically clamped by means of the clamps 12, 12 of the clamp device 6.
Centering of the member P is provided by the chuck. Under this condition, the cutters 5, 5 of the apparatus A move towards the member P, and the cutting operation is started.
The cutting is carried out by cutting the thickness of the pipe, and the pipe P is rotated by the chuck device 7 rotating during the cutting operation, and the cutting is completed at the determined angular rotation. The member P is cropped at both ends, and the plurality of parts are cut simultaneously.
The clamps 12, 12 clamp the member P such that each of the clamp rollers 16 rotates on the outer circumference of the member P, and prevent vibration of the member P in the diameter direction, The support roller 1 supports the member P between the cutting devices before and after cutting.
When the cutting is finished, each of the chuck devices 7 and each of the clamp devices 6 are released, and subsequently the transfer rollers 18, the support rollers 1 and the pinch rollers 19 drive respectively to transfer the cut m~mbers and a new member is transferred. Thus, the above process is repeated.
It is possible to apply the cutting machine of the invention to a continuous process for pipe production. Figure 5 illustrates a continuous process line where the cutting machine of the invention is employed. The reference numeral 38 is a constant diameter machine, 39 is a heat treating facility, 40 is a stretching machine, (a) is the cutting machine of the invention, and ~1 is a finishing machine.
According to the cutting machine of the invention, the pipe transferred from the manufacturing process can be cut at the plurality of t~e par~s at the same time, and transferred out in succession. Thus, a highly efficient continuous process may be realized.
