Abstract

CéLULAS HOSPEDEIRAS GENETICAMENTE MODIFICADAS E USO DAS MESMAS PARA PRODUZIR COMPOSTOS ISOPRENóIDES. A presente invenção refere-se células hospedeiras geneticamente modificadas que produzem compostos isoprenóides ou precursores de isoprenóides. Uma célula hospedeira geneticamente modificada em questão compreende níveis de atividade aumentados de um ou mais das enzimas da via do mevalonato, níveis de atividade aumentados de preniltrausferase e níveis diminuídos da atividade da esqualeno sintase. Métodos são fornecidos para a produção de um composto isoprenóide ou de um precursor isoprenóide em uma célula hospedeira eucariótica geneticamente modificada em questão. Os métodos geralmente envolvem o cultivo de uma célula hospedeira geneticamente modificada sob condições que promovem a produção de altos níveis de um composto precursor isoprenóide ou isoprenóide.
