Abstract

"CABO PARA TRANSMISSãO DE POTêNCIA, E, PROCESSOS PARA CONFERIR RESISTêNCIA A IMPACTOS A ESTRUTURA INTERNA DE UM CABO PARA TRANSMISSãO DE POTêNCIA E PARA AVALIAR A RESISTêNCIA A IMPACTOS DE UM CABO, E, USO DE UM MATERIAL DE POLìMERO EXPANDIDO". A presente invenção está relacionada a um revestimento para cabos o qual é capaz de proteger o cabo contra impactos acidentais. Pela inserção na estrutura de um cabo para transmissão de potência de um revestimento adequado de um material de polímero expandido com uma espessura adequada, de preferência em contato com a proteção do revestimento externo de polímero, é possível se obter um cabo que possui uma elevada resistência a impactos. O Requerente observou alem disso que um material de polímero expandido utilizado como revestimento para cabos torna possível a obtenção de uma resistência a impactos para esse cabo mais elevada que aquela obtida utilizando um revestimento similar baseado no mesmo polímero que não é expandido. Um cabo com um revestimento desse tipo possui diversas vantagens sobre os cabos convencionais com armadura de metal, tais como, por exemplo, mais fácil processamento, uma redução no peso e nas dimensões do cabo acabado e um impacto no meio ambiente mais baixo no que diz respeito à reciclagem do cabo uma vez terminado o seu ciclo útil.
