método para operar conversor e método para produzir aço fundido. é proposto um método para operar um conversor que reduz a quantidade de consumo de matéria-prima auxiliar. ao suprir uma fonte de oxigênio para o ferro-gusa fundido dentro de um forno de refino de tipo conversor e realizar o refino de dessilicação, desfosforação e descarbonetação, o método mede um ou dois ou mais selecionados a partir de um formato de fluxo de remoção de escória, uma velocidade de fluxo de remoção de escória e um formato de superfície de escória enquanto descarrega escória através de uma garganta para estimar uma ou ambas de uma quantidade de remoção de escória e propriedades físicas de escória removida. ao realizar sequencialmente uma etapa de refino de realizar uma ou ambas de dessilicação em parte ou total e desfosforação, uma etapa intermediária de remoção de escória de descarga de parte ou toda de escória gerada através da garganta e a outra etapa de refino remanescente, na etapa de remoção de escória intermediária, o método mede um ou dois selecionados a partir do formato de fluxo de remoção de escória, a velocidade de fluxo de remoção de escória e o formato de superfície da escória, estima uma ou ambas da quantidade e propriedades físicas de escória removida, estima uma quantidade remanescente de escória ou a quantidade de escória remanescente e uma composição de escória, e com base no resultado de estimativa, determina uma quantidade de matéria-prima auxiliar a ser alimentada durante refino na outra etapa de refino.
