Abstract
pode-se aplicar o corte durante diversas operações em um codificador ou decodificador. os limites inferior e superior para corte podem ser codificados de forma diferencial com respeito aos preditores. podem-se usar preditores fixos, por exemplo, 0 e 2bitdepth para os limites inferior e superior, respectivamente. também podem ser usados preditores adaptativos. os preditores adaptativos podem ser derivados dos limites de corte nas imagens codificadas ou decodificadas anteriormente, ou sinalizados de maneira explícita em um fluxo de bits. a decisão quanto a codificar ou não os limites de corte pode ser determinada com base no número de pixels que possuem valores próximos aos limites de corte. adicionalmente, tirando proveito da operação de corte, os resíduos de predição podem ser suavizados, ao passo que a distorção para o bloco pode não necessariamente aumentar.
