a presente invenção refere-se a uma célula eletrolítica para geração de hidrogênio através da eletrólise de água, compreendendo um compartimento anódico (10) e um compartimento catódico (9) separados por uma membrana eletrolítica alcalina polimérica sólida (4). o compartimento anódico (10) compreende um eletrodo positivo ou anodo (3) pelo menos parcialmente submerso em uma camada de água (19), e o compartimento catódico (9) compreende um eletrodo negativo ou catodo (2). a célula (1) está compreendida entre uma primeira placa de fechamento (7) e uma segunda placa de fechamento (8). um tirante (22), fornecido na porção central da primeira placa de fechamento (7), passa através da primeira placa de fechamento (7), da célula (1) e da segunda placa de fechamento (8). um coletor central (21) para transportar o hidrogênio gerado no compartimento catódico (9) é disposto coaxialmente à barra roscada (22) e está em comunicação com o compartimento catódico (9) através de uma abertura (23) formada no tirante (22).
