Abstract

"TéCNICA PARA DIFUSãO DE VìDEO EM LAN SEM FIO". Uma Rede de área Local sem fio (10) presta serviço de dados através de uma LAN de dados (14) e também presta serviço de transmissão de vídeo através de uma LAN de vídeo (26). Um assinante de LAN sem fio acessa a LAN de vídeo através de um de uma série de Pontos de Acesso a Vídeo (VAPs) (28~ 1~ e 28~ 2~), que transmitem vários programas de vídeo em um canal com uma freqüência diferente da freqüência através da qual o assinante acessa a LAN de dados. Cada VAP mantém o canal de vídeo em um modo de transmissão exclusiva unidirecional de modo a se impedir que um assinante de LAN sem fio busque transmitir informações nesse canal. Desta maneira, a LAN sem fio pode empregar um protocolo comum para transmissão tanto de dados quanto de vídeo e transmitir os fluxos de vídeo à taxa de transmissão de conexão inferior permissível máxima.
