Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA AUMENTAR O TEOR TOTAL DE óLEO EM UM ORGANISMO VEGETAL OU UM TECIDO, ORGãO, PARTE, CéLULA OU MATERIAL DE PROPAGAçãO DO MESMO, CASSETE DE EXPRESSãO TRANSGêNICA, VETOR TRANSGêNICO, ORGANISMO VEGETAL TRANSGêNICO, OU TECIDO, óRGãO, PARTE, CéLULA OU MATERIAL DE PROPAGAçãO DO MESMO, E, USO DOS MESMOS. A invenção diz respeito a processos para aumentar o teor de óleo nas plantas, preferivelmente nas sementes das plantas, mediante expressão da glicerol-3-fosfato desidrogenases (G3PDH) de levedura, preferivelmente da Saccharomyces cerevisiae. A invenção também diz respeito a construções de expressão para a expressão da levedura G3PDH nas plantas, preferivelmente nas sementes das plantas, plantas transgênicas expressando G3PDH, e ao uso das referidas plantas transgênicas na produção de gêneros alimentícios, rações, sementes, produtos farmacêuticos ou produtos químicos finos, especialmente na produção de óleos.
