Abstract

"CATALISADOR DE HIDROGENAçãO DE METAL SUPORTADO SOBRE SìLICA E PROCESSO PARA HIDROGENAR UM POLìMERO INSATURADO". A presente invenção e direcionada a um catalisador de hidrogenação e a um processo para hidrogenar um polímero aromático tendo um peso molecular médio numérico (Mn) de 40.000 a menos que 120.000 compreendendo contatar o polímero aromático com um agente hidrogenante na presença de um catalisador de hidrogenação de metal suportado sobre sílica, caracterizado pelo fato de a sílica ter uma distribuição de tamanho de poro tal que pelo menos 95 por cento do volume de poros seja definido por poros tendo diâmetro de 300 a 1000 angstroms, menos que 4 por cento do volume de poros seja definido por poros tendo um diâmetro de 200 angstroms ou menos e pelo menos 80 por cento de hidrogenação aromática sejam atingidos.
