Abstract
Description
Diffraction-proof documents, which provide layer protection, and especially holograms, are controlled by sophisticated optical techniques. They require the subject to be very precisely positioned. The entire verification process takes so long that these control methods cannot be applied to high-speed document processing machines. For example, checking a banknote with a hologram security mark cannot be performed on a banknote machine because it operates at speeds in the order of between 500 and 1500 banknotes per minute or more.
DE 2 747 156 describes a method and control device for verifying that the holographically protected identity cards are genuine. The hologram is played back and visual controls are performed. This method is inappropriate for fast, effective and non-subjective control.
VERO 042 946 offers a scanner for laser scanning images with a mirror and lens system, as well as a photodetector. The economic costs in this case are too great. In order to avoid pre-sorting, a configuration, combined with several authentication systems, is required.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
It is an object of the invention to eliminate the shortcomings in the prior art and to propose an application and method of checking documents with diffraction-proof layers, and in particular holograms that can be realized quickly without the risk of subjectivity and at low cost. The method should be applicable both to document checking machines and banknote processing machines, and to manual document control devices with diffraction-optically shielding layers.
The use of holograms and other diffraction optics, which provide layers for the protection of documents and other securities, as well as for counterfeiting notes, is increasingly used. The possibility of rapid inspection represents a higher degree of protection in the evaluation of diffraction-optically acting layers, as a mark of failure. The diffraction-optically acting layers also contain a metallized layer. This metallized layer is electrically conductive. Depending on the thickness of the layer, the electrical conductivity will change. The active diffraction-optical layer has some discontinuous (non-integral) metallized layer and / or partial metal layers and / or sections with metal layers in different planes. Various methods of measurement are known to determine the presence of electrical conductivity. The non-contact capacitive measuring method proved to be the most convenient for practice. This security document control method utilizes the capacitive coupling between the transmitter and receiver and transmits energy between the transmitter and receiver by shunting an electromagnetic field through electrically conductive security materials. Analytical electronics placed after these devices compare the image of the signal from the test object with the corresponding reference signals. The comparison gives a classification signal for the purposes of further processing. This makes it possible, for example, to separate the document detected as counterfeit and the control device stops. The signal image depends on the structure of the metallized layer in the diffraction-optically acting layer. When the diffraction-optic layers comprise a discontinuous metallic layer, many segments of the metallic layer will have different electrical conductivity. Practice has shown that these different conductivity values affect the signal image.
Another increase in the reliability of the check is obtained by the combination of the electrical conductivity check with some other marks for the failure of the diffraction-optical layer. By introducing additional marks for unbreakability in demetallized segments within the discontinuous metallized layers and / or parallel metal layers and / or between sections of metal layers in different planes, the marks and electrical conductivity can be checked simultaneously. With the help of the analyzing electronics, a signal of unshackledness from an additional sensor for unshackled sensing is logically connected to the sensor for measuring electrical conductivity. At the output of the analyzer electronics, we receive a signal that classifies the diffraction-optically acting layer for further processing. The additional mark of non-genuineness has fluorescent, phosphorescent or light-absorbing properties, or differs from the environment with different magnetic properties. An optical or magnetic sensor will be used accordingly. To reduce detection and measurement errors, it is recommended that a sensor be used. This sensor bears all the sensors for detecting the scars. In this way, the distances between the individual sensors are minimized and the sensors keep their definite position. To avoid interfering effects, the sensor carrier connects compactly to a backing board that carries the analyzer electronics. The entire control unit is located in the document processing machine, so that no additional cost is required to transport the objects being inspected.

Examples of carrying out the invention
The control method proposed according to the invention provides for the corresponding sensors to be mounted in suitable locations within the banknote counting machines themselves. The conductivity sensors are designed so that the entire width of the banknote path can be controlled so that the sensor can perform the check regardless of the position of the banknote. Optical or mechanical sensors detect the presence of a banknote and provide a reference signal to control the control unit 4 by varying the signal timing ratios. At the same time, the holographic failure sensors are activated. By recording the entire time period from the beginning of the banknote to its end, the position of the hologram on the banknote can be determined.
