FRAGMENTED SEA BOTTOM MINE
1. TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention relates to a fragmented sea bottom mine /FMDM/, realized by means of a structure ensuring its fragmentation during its placement, and grouping of the individual functional elements after the activation of the non-contact detonator.
In the design of modern sea bottom mines, a compromise is usually sought between the tactical requirements for this type of weapon and the requirements for high resistance against possible mine countermeasures, for example, they are made in a cylindrical shape when they have to be placed in position by torpedo tubes of submarines, their hull is constructed in the so-called "stealth" technology and is made of non-metallic materials, the amount of explosive substance increases when the depth of the area is greater, etc. The invention offers an approach that provides a general solution to all these requirements.
2. PRIOR ART
Bottom mines have high trawl resistance, but they can only be used in areas with a shallow depth of up to 40-50 m.
In the 60s of the last century, jet-floating sea mines were adopted, which are a bottom variant at depths of the staging area from 40 m to 150 m, and as anchor mines - at depths from 150 m to 300 m.
The logical development of jet-floating sea mines came with the realization of projects for anti-submarine mini-missiles. In structural terms, they are a combination of an anchor mine with a high-speed submarine missile. The missile is placed in a sealed container that is installed at a great depth, which provides the mine with effective anti-mine weapon protection. The high speed of the missile and the short time to attack the target exclude the possibility of the submarine using countermeasures and performing a maneuver to deflect an attacking missile.
Simultaneously with the creation of mini-missiles in the leading navies in the 1970s, the development of the mini-torpedo as a combination of an anchor mine and a self-guided anti-submarine torpedo took place. After leaving the launch container, the torpedo searches for a target according to a set program. After finding the target, the torpedo is guided to the target with its own guidance system. Unlike mini-missiles, a torpedo is capable of catching up and hitting a target not only in the mine's reaction zone, but also outside it.
The new sea mines are envisioned to be modular, with sensors and effectors able to be part of a distributed seabed network capable of multi-phase combat operations, offering flexible, scalable, distributed, relaying, persistent and autonomous lethal and non-lethal effects from the seabed. The Smart Mine initiative includes a set of modular, flexible, encapsulated seabed effectors that offer commanders a range of options by facilitating the integration of existing sensors and weapon systems into a single, networked seabed capability.
3. TECHNICAL ESSENCE
The task of the invention is to create a monofunctional, universal, modular and highly anti-mine resistance marine bottom 2 mine, which is intended for the destruction of underwater and surface vessels. For this purpose, a basic structure is proposed, which consists of a central hermetic body, where an electronic control unit and sensors are mounted, and warheads movably connected to it. In order to achieve the set requirements depending on the tactical tasks that will be solved and the characteristics of the mine positioning area - depth, type and slope of the ground, hydrological conditions, etc., the invention is implemented as a modular system with the possibility of being connected to the basic construction to integrate the following modules:
аербег с бутилка сгъстен въздух за осигуряване изплаване на изделието, с което се решава задачата по групиране на бойните тела, в които са поставени зарядите, за да се получи обща детонация и едновременно с това приближаване на сумарния заряд до корпуса на целта;an airbag with a bottle of compressed air to ensure floating of the product, which solves the task of grouping the warheads in which the charges are placed to obtain a common detonation and at the same time bringing the total charge closer to the target's hull;
подводен реактивен стартов двигател, който осигурява „отлепяне” на корпуса централното херметично тяло от тинесто дъно или при засипването му с пясък;an underwater jet starting engine, which ensures the "detachment" of the hull, the central hermetic body from a muddy bottom or when it is filled with sand;
различен тип бойни тела, като освен стандартните, състоящи се от запълнени с взривно вещество корпуси и детонатор, те могат да представляват пускови тръби за реактивни подводни заряди или високоскоростни малогабаритни торпеда.different type of warheads, as, in addition to the standard, consisting of cases filled with an explosive substance and a detonator, they can be launch tubes for reactive underwater charges or high-speed small-sized torpedoes.
In order to reduce the effectiveness of anti-mine sonars in detecting bottom mines by the size and shape of their hydroacoustic shadow and by the level of the reflected signal, a modern bottom mine must meet the following requirements:
да има нисък вертикален профил, за да формира по-малка хидроакустична сянка върху морското дъно;have a low vertical profile to form a smaller hydroacoustic shadow on the seabed;
да е с конструкция от материал, който поглъща и/или има малка отразяваща способност при облъчване с хидроакустични вълни в диапазоните на работа на съвременни минотърсещи сонари - 30 kHz + 600 kHz;to be constructed of material that absorbs and/or has low reflectivity when irradiated with hydroacoustic waves in the operating ranges of modern minesweepers - 30 kHz + 600 kHz;
профилът на тялото на мината да отговаря на изискванията на “стелт” технологията за разсейване на звуковата енергия в направление, различно от ъгъла на падане;the profile of the mine body to meet the requirements of the "stealth" technology for dispersing the sound energy in a direction other than the angle of incidence;
да има голяма отразяваща повърхост, която да води до маскиране на сянката, при което филтрите за големина на целта (относно габарити на известни мини) няма да я класифицират като миноподобна цел;have a large reflective surface to result in shadow masking where target size filters (relative to the dimensions of known mines) will not classify it as a mine-like target;
да има симетричност на формата поради това, че обикновенно се извършва двукратен поиск на перпендикулярни галсове и се оценяват (изваждат) сигналите от целите;to have a symmetry of shape due to the fact that perpendicular bearings are usually searched twice and the signals from the targets are estimated (subtracted);
е. ако една маса е с по-голяма площ тя е по-слабо контрастна.to have a low reflective energy capability because the center of gravity assessment is performed, i.e. if a mass has a larger area it is less contrasty.
In order to satisfy the requirement of symmetry, it is advisable for the mine to have a star-shaped shape in the fragmented state (when it is in position on the bottom), and in order to reflect the sound waves in lateral directions, it is necessary that the surface of the fragments make a right angle with the plane of the bottom. The casings of the individual fragments must be made of material with reduced reflectivity. When grouping the fragments (defragmentation), the mine must acquire a cylindrical shape with a diameter that allows it to be fired from a torpedo apparatus.
The proposed new engineering design of a fragmenting sea bottom mine /FMDM/ envisages that it will consist of N number of warheads, which are connected by means of movable connections with a central cylindrical body - a grouping non-contact detonator /GNV/, in which the sensors, the power block of the mine and a jet engine and/or airbag (airbag), which serves to detach the hull from the bottom and drive it in a vertical direction and group the combat bodies.
The purpose of the FMDM is to strike the underwater part of the hull and to inflict combat damage on ships with medium and large displacement, on submarines and on landing ships, including hovercraft.
The design features in the implementation of FMDM, in addition to meeting the requirements for reducing the effectiveness of anti-mine sonars in the detection of bottom mines by the size and shape of their hydroacoustic shadow and reflected signal level, make it multifunctional because:
съставните елементи могат да бъдат профилирани с максимален полезен обем при вариант “мина” и с подходящи пускови контейнери за варианти “подводни реактивни снаряди” и “малогабаритни високоскоростни торпеда”;the constituent elements can be profiled with maximum useful volume for the "mine" variant and with suitable launch containers for the "underwater rocket" and "small high-speed torpedo" variants;
минната постановка може да се извършва със свободно спускане на изделието на вода от палубата на кораб или от торпедните апарати на бойни кораби и подводници, като подбраните геометрична форма на фрагментираното тяло и масогабаритни характеристики, съобразени с размерите на торпедните апарати, осигуряват плавно удълбочаване и заставане стабилно на дъното;mine laying can be carried out by free lowering of the object into water from the deck of a ship or from the torpedo tubes of warships and submarines, and the selected geometric shape of the fragmented body and mass-dimensional characteristics, taking into account the dimensions of the torpedo tubes, ensure smooth deepening and standing stable on the bottom;
процесът на дефрагментиране (групиране на елементите) на мината след сигнал от сензорната система и подизплаването й на оптимална дълбочина осигуряват ефективното използване на поразяващата сила на подводния взрив при минен вариант или подходящо положение на елементите при торпеден вариант.the process of defragmentation (grouping of the elements) of the mine after a signal from the sensor system and subfloating it at an optimal depth ensure the effective use of the striking force of the underwater explosion in the case of a mine variant or the appropriate position of the elements in the case of a torpedo variant.
Calculations show that a floating speed of the order of 3 - 4 m/s is sufficient, which is fully achievable when using an airbag with a volume of 50 + 100 liters and an air pressure in it corresponding to the depth of its activation.
The advantage of the mine is that it provides detonation of the clustered charges at an optimal distance from the target's hull.
The nominal power of the mine is from 40 to 100 kg of TNT equivalent, depending on the number of warheads and the power of the charges in them.
A distinctive feature of the mine is that it can be placed from a moving ship or from a torpedo tube on a submarine, as well as from an aircraft launcher. After release, the mine fragments and sinks smoothly.
The mine has a low vertical profile - 150 to 200 mm, and makes a small hydroacoustic shadow, which is permissible due to the possibility that the volume occupied by the explosive substance is determined by the length and number of warheads.
The relatively large surface area and the symmetry of the shape make the mine difficult to detect and classify as a bottom mine. Mine protection is realized by mounting a camouflage of an absorbent shell with a wide frequency band that covers the entire body.
(15°).The construction of the mine allows it to stand stably in position on a bottom with a slope greater than that required by the standard for bottom mines (15°).

2).The invention of a fragmented sea bottom mine was realized by a working team of IMSTTCH-BAN1 as a prototype of a bottom mine "Starfish" (Fig. 2).
The FDMM invention, Fig. 1, consists of a central body (1) cylindrical box made of non-metallic material, with a minimum height and radius equal to the diameter of the torpedo tube, in which an electronic unit (2) is placed to control the work of the functional blocks, according to the set logical sequence, and the sensors (3) passive hydroacoustic, magnetic, hydrodynamic, etc.. In the lower part of the box, an underwater jet engine (7) (engines) is installed (fastened). An airbag (6) and a compressed air bottle (5) are placed in the upper part to fill it. In addition to the electronic unit, the elements of the non-contact detonator (4) and the power supply unit (10) are located in the remaining volume. The jet engine ensures that the structure is detached from the bottom. The airbag ensures the mine floats vertically.
The attached Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of the technical solutions for the implementation of a fragmented sea bottom mine.
Segment 1 shows the construction of the FMDM for a set of central body and four warheads. The mine in a fragmented state is a cylinder with a diameter that corresponds to 1 Institute of Metallurgy, Equipment and Technologies with Center for Hydro- and Aerodynamics - Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
На позиция на дъното първо застава централното тяло, а след това и бойните тела.the diameter of the torpedo tube (of the on-board style) from which the staging will be carried out. When the mine hits the water, it defragments, with the warheads dissolving at an angle above the central body and ensuring a smooth sinking to the bottom. This is achieved by providing an air chamber at its upper end in the construction of the fighting body, which, after taking a position, is slowly filled with water. At the bottom position, the central body first takes place, and then the fighting bodies.
Segment 2 shows the structure of the war body bed, which is connected to the central body with a hinged connection. The communication between the fighting bodies and the central body (the electronic control unit) is by an armored underwater cable or by wireless communication.
Segment 3 shows the locations of the jet engines, which serve to overcome the suction force from the muddy bottoms of the central body, and of the airback balloon, which is filled with compressed air from a high-pressure cylinder.
Segment 4 shows the stage of launching the mine to approach the target, during which the process of grouping the warheads for the purpose of simultaneous detonation takes place.
Segment 5 shows the principle of operation of the mine when it is planned to launch for impact with one or more combat bodies from the set, or to use specialized combat bodies - containers of reactive underwater shells or small-sized torpedoes. In these variants, it is envisaged to create an air pocket in the front of the container and to assume a vertical launch position.
6. APPLICATION (USE) OF THE INVENTION
Дънната фрагментирана изплаваща мина е предназначена за унищожаване на кораби и подводници и наред с другото е свързан с работата по Работен пакет 2 „Интелигентни системи за сигурност“ на проект BG05M2OP001-1.002-0006 „Изграждане и развитие на Център за 10 компетентност “Квантова комуникация, интелигентни системи за сигурност и управление на риска (Quasar)“, финансиран от Европейския фонд за регионално развитие чрез Оперативна програма „Наука и образование за интелигентен растеж“ 2014-2020.The bottom fragmented floating mine is intended for the destruction of ships and submarines and, among other things, is related to the work on Work package 2 "Intelligent security systems" of the project BG05M2OP001-1.002-0006 "Construction and development of the Center for 10 competence "Quantum communication, intelligent systems for security and risk management (Quasar)", financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Operational Program "Science and Education for Smart Growth" 2014-2020.
The FMDM is designed to strike the underwater part of the hull and inflict combat damage on ships of medium and large displacement, on submarines, on underwater self-propelled vehicles and on landing ships, including hovercraft, by placing in a position with free launching of water from the deck of a ship or from the torpedo tubes of battleships and submarines.
(15°).A distinctive feature of the mine is that it can be laid from a moving ship or from a submarine's torpedo tube. After release, the mine fragments and sinks smoothly. The mine has a low vertical profile and casts a small sonar shadow. The relatively large surface area and the symmetry of the shape make the mine difficult to detect and classify as a bottom mine. Mine protection is realized by mounting a camouflage of an absorbent shell with a wide frequency band that covers the entire body. The construction of the mine allows it to stand stably in position on a bottom with a slope greater than that required by the standard for bottom mines (15°).
The standard version of the bottom fragmentation floating mine has four warheads, each loaded with 10 kg of explosive. The actual impact on the target is approximately equal to that of a standard bottom mine with a charge of 750 kg at a depth of ZOm.
The process of defragmentation (grouping of the elements) of the mine after a signal from the sensor system and subfloating it at an optimal depth ensure the effective use of the striking force of the underwater explosion in the implementation of a mine option or a suitable position (guidance) of the elements in a cluster launch design.
