Abstract
The device and the method are used in nonferrous metallurgy. The molten rock or the slag are fed through a chute (10a, 10b) to a granulation bath (11a, 11b) having inclined walls supplied with adjustable water spilling devices (21b) and with one or more spraying nozzles (19a, 19b). Nozzles (19a, 19b) are fitted in such a way that water from them is released in pulses over the entire molten rock or slag which are fed to bath (11a, 11b). The latter optionally is covered with polymer material which reduces the potential of ground explosions. Bath (11a, 11b) can be supplied with gas discharge pipe (16b) directly connected to a cooling tower (14b) which can be connected to an inducing ventilation system (15). Preferably bath (11a, 11b) has protection apertures (27) for ground explosions made of long-lasting canals (28b). Apertures (27b) are covered by polymer material (29b). 9 claims, 3 figures
