Abstract

The invention relates to packages made of at least one pair of cartons (A, B) of single-type goods engaged by a self-tightening lifting loop and devices for it, as well as a method for its making. The lifting loop is in the form of a closed loop of a belt (2) having a width basically equal to the lateral width of the cartons (A & B). The central loop (14) is gathered in such a way in order to form a lifting ring (15) passing through a central hole in the upper part of the belt (2). The ends of belt (2) are overlapping and are fixed to each other by sewing, adhesion, hot melting, etc. The packages can be formed by making a preset length of the belt (2) which is done by pulling it on a pair of rods (4) fitted at some distance and having a vertically mobile rod (5) fitted between them and on rod (8b) tightened to the vertically moble plate (8), and then on a second pair of rods (6) having a vertically mobile rod (7) fitted between them. The end of belt (2) is then tightened to the tightening device (3) immediately after which rods (5 & 7) are shifted downwards against the belt (2) and plate (8) is shifted downwards so that rod (8) will press it down. Furthermore the roller unit (10a, 10b) is shifted upwards against belt (2) until the latter lies on that unit. The device for feeding the belt (1) is interlocked after the preset length of belt (2) is being pulled. Device (1) can include a means for pleating of belt (2) and for engaging the pleated part (27) by a cartridge (22). The device is in the form of a loop-like belt (2) made in advance including a pleated part the central part (27) of which is engaged by a cartridge (22) for retaining the pleats together all the time. 14 claims, 14 figures
