Abstract

As the vehicles are garaged transversely to the wagons they are perpendicular to the platforms. The upper level can have passenger compartments or can be used for the same purpose as the lower level, and the vehicles can be loaded and unloaded by their own drivers. - The small exterior lateral partitions if the wagons can be folded back to form platform access ramps. A pivoting staircase with spiral axis gives communication between the two levels of the wagon.

  DESCRIPTION

Watteau Lucien Louis

Nature du brevet : INVENTION

Titre :

  DESCRIPTION

Watteau Lucien Louis

Type of patent: INVENTION

Title:

Two-level railway wagons, transporters of small cars quickly parked transversely, combined with passenger transport.

The patent relates to railway wagons used to transport small motor cars from

more or less 2.50 m long parking perpendicular to the departure from the quays, hence quick embarkation and disembarkation by the motorists themselves.

The wagons can transport the cars either on two levels with adequate superimposed platforms or on the lower level only, the passengers occupying the upper level reachable by a staircase or several spiral staircases, pivoting (or others being between the parked cars, this for the occupants of cars. (The cars will be fitted with sliding doors.) Optionally, a staircase can serve two cars. In this case, the upper landing can accommodate a toilet for two compartments.

The low side walls of the wagons equipping the level occupied by the cars will fold down to form bridges between the wagons and the platforms.

The compartments intended for travelers will be equipped with either traditional seats / office equipment for businessmen or berths (hotel rooms possibly).

The invention has practical uses

1 [deg.] To allow affordable transport of cars for

travelers traveling more or less long distances in safety, day, night and if the roads are dangerous.

2 [deg.] Accompaniment of the car of the train traveler makes him

puts / going to radiate without problems and reach places not served by the railways, whether for business, tourism or other reasons.

3 [deg.] As the cars are small, their users

will be able to better circulate and park in cities and use them often.

4 [deg.] Transportation of cars by train will save energy and reduce fuel pollution from cars.

5 [deg.] For tourism, the train equipped with hotel rooms and rolling garages will allow travelers to visit poorly equipped regions, because tourism is too seasonal.

The same equipment can accommodate many travelers during exceptional events attracting a large audience in a location with little or no equipment. Trade fairs, sports competitions, any party etc.

6 [deg.] Such an arrangement of trains combined with the use

automobiles will revive interest in the use of railways.
