Abstract

The device comprises a light dependent resistor (LDR) connected into a transistorised amplifier circuit which drives a relay coil. The relay contacts are connected into the headlamp circuit so that when the light from the headlamps of an oncoming vehicle is detected the relay operates to switch the headlamps to low beam, and when the light passes to restore the headlamps to high beam operation. The circuit is powered from the vehicle electrical system.

Description

On a trouvé

  Vehicle glare protection device.

The present invention relates to the glare caused by vehicle lights and relates to a device for protecting motorists against this glare.

The issue of night traffic

on public roads has always preoccupied the authorities and public lighting of part of the road network has made it possible to resolve this problem, but very partially. Car manufacturers have looked at the problem and great progress has already been made, among other things

at the headlight optics.

Excessive light from a vehicle can put other users in danger by blinding them if they drive in front of this light. We found

to remedy this danger, two possibilities of lighting for a vehicle, main beam and

dipped beam switchable by a manual control within the reach of the driver. Unfortunately, this triggering of the low beam is at

thank you for a human deficiency or just the apathy of a driver. Indeed, many drivers who forget or refuse to pass

at the low beam at the right time with all

The consequences that this can have.

The protective device according to the invention aims to eliminate the intervention

of the driver at this level by carrying out the automatic change of high beam to low beam

timely.

A compliant protection device

to the invention is characterized in that it consists

in an electrical assembly allowing the automatic passage of the main beam to the dipped beam

and vice versa, said assembly being constituted by

a photocell capturing the light of oncoming vehicle lights and putting

in function The coil of a relay, via an electronic circuit amplified by transistors, to cause the change of lights of the vehicle equipped with said assembly.

To better understand the invention

This is now described on the basis of the attached diagram.

An LDR cell receives Light sent by an oncoming vehicle and, via the electronic circuit amplified by

transistors, activates the relay coil, which changes the high beam of the vehicle comprising the device in low beam. From

that the light opposite is no longer received, there is a new change and the low beams change to high beam.

If the cell is lit, the relay

is cut and, if the cell is in the dark,

the relay is on.

A wire 1 supplies the circuit with 12 volts

and a wire 2 acts as ground while a wire

3 is connected to the low beam and another

4 at high beam.

The assembly shown in the drawing is given only as an example to describe the operation of the device.

Thus, iL will be advantageous to reduce

maximum size of the printed circuit.

The LDR cell will be placed on the board

of the vehicle and the rest of the assembly will be placed under the dashboard.

It is a question, according to the invention, of an additional device to the existing equipment and the assembly may have come with the vehicle or, the wiring being simplified as much as possible, the assembly may be marketed in the form of a kit to be mounted by L 'user Himself.

As a safety measure, in case

the relay would cut off unexpectedly, the device is placed advantageously after the command

the headlight switch 5.

Of course, the dazzle protection device according to the invention applies to any type of vehicle, whether it be motor vehicles, motorcycles, road vehicles,

iron, metro, etc.
