<EMI ID=1.1>
La figure 1 est une vue en perspective d'un appareil selon l'invention placé sur une table à dessin;
<EMI ID=2.1>

Multi-carriage drawing apparatus Multi-carriage drawing apparatus
The present invention relates to a drawing device, type carriage, specially designed to meet the
<EMI ID = 1.1>
appearance of electronic automata intended to adapt to the swivel head of drawing devices.
These automata are fixed on the drawing head instead of the usual slats so that the device
drawing can no longer fulfill any function other than that of supporting the automaton and it can therefore no longer be used as a conventional drawing apparatus for manual drawing work without the need for tedious assembly operations , disassembly and adjustment.
The invention solves this problem thanks to a new drawing device designed to allow its joint and simultaneous use as a support for at least one electronic automaton and as a conventional drawing device without requiring manipulations or continual modifications or adjustments.
According to the invention, the drawing apparatus is characterized by an arm formed to present at least two longitudinal guides which extend in parallel planes, and by at least two carriages mounted on the arm so as to slide each in one of the guides, each carriage serving as a support for a separate drawing head.
By sliding the carriages along the arm, it is possible to move the drawing heads in the same plane and make them cross.
The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of an exemplary embodiment illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of an apparatus according to the invention placed on a drawing table;
Figures 2 and 3 show the device partially in section, in two positions of use.
In the drawings the reference numeral 10 denotes
the board of a drawing table on which a drawing apparatus according to the invention is adapted 20.
The apparatus 20 comprises an arm 1 mounted in a manner known per se so that it can be moved by translation in a direction perpendicular to its longitudinal direction. In Figure 1 the transverse guide rail of the arm 1 is not visible. The arm 1 is formed to present two parallel guides 12, 13 arranged to each slide a carriage
<EMI ID = 2.1>
example, the arm 1 consists of two aluminum profiles 11 A and 11 B maintained at the necessary spacing by metallic or plastic spacers
(not visible in the drawings), each profile forming
one of the guides 12 and 13. In an alternative embodiment, the arm 1 may consist of a single profile formed to present the two parallel guides. Inside the arm 1, and in particular inside the profiles
11 A and 11 B are housed the counterweights of the carriages
2 and 3. These counterweights are conventionally connected to the carriages by cables running on pulleys such as 14 and 15.
Each of the carriages 2 and 3 serves to support a head
to draw 4, 5 respectively. A separate instrument can be adapted to each head: on the drawings
the head 4 is conventional and carries the slats with usual designs 6 for manual work, and the head 5
carries an automaton 7 intended for dimensioning, capturing, plotting etc. on plans. The two heads can perfectly carry each an automaton: one would carry for example an automaton designed for inscriptions which are carried and read from left to right (e.g. inscriptions
in Latin characters) and the other would carry an automaton designed for inscriptions which can be read and read from right to left (eg inscriptions in Arabic characters).
By sliding the carriages 2 and 3 along the
arm 1, it is possible to move the heads to be drawn in the same plane and to cross them. FIG. 2 shows the apparatus 20 in a position where the head 5 carrying the automaton is located towards the bottom of the drawing board, that is to say towards the designer, the head 4 being higher (on the drawing it is hidden by the head 5 which is visible).
FIG. 3 shows the apparatus in the position where the conventional head 4 has been brought below the automaton head 5, that is to say in front of the latter.
To bring the device in this position from the position shown in Figure 2 simply rotate the head 4 relative to its carriage 2, slide the head 4 down while moving the head 5 up, then fold the head 4 in the horizontal plane.
It is understood that the embodiment illustrated in the accompanying drawings is only one example among others to which the arrangement according to the invention is applicable.
It goes without saying also that the apparatus according to the invention can perfectly comprise more than two carriages,
