DESCRIPTION
Dans notre description, nous supposerons comme connu le fonctionnement du charriot élévateur (sytème classique de vérin hydraulique).

- d'une partie inférieure appellée FOUCHE E mobile de bas en haut sur 15 à 20 cm grâce au vérin du chariot élévateur dont elle est solidaire par le bâti G
- d'une palette supérieure appellée PRESSOIR F dont la mobilité est également réglable par commande hydraulique.
C'est un réglage hydraulique qui permet l'ouverture de la pince, la distance entre la fourche E et le pressoir F sera bien entendu déterminé par les dimensions de l'objet à manutentionner.
La FOURCHE E est munie de dents M dont les dimensions s'adaptent exactement aux créneaux vides C de la palette de réception ou de stockage qui supporte l'objet à manutentiouner.Afin de s' adapter très exactement aux dimensions de cet objet et pour
des raisons exclusives de sécurité, les dents de la fourche peuvent être escamotables. Lors du fonctionnement de la pince ECTAN, les dents de la fourche M s'interpénètrent très exactement dans les vides de la palette de réception C grâce à un double régalge de l'ajustement :
1. réglage latéral de la fourche par commande manuelle K
2. réglage angulaire de la fourche (rotules automatiques) J 7
La PALETTE de réception ou de stockage présente une alternance de vides C en forme de créneaux et de pleins A qui soutiennent

latéraux B afin de laisser le passage aux roues du chariot élévateur.La distance entre 2 pleins est légèrement supérieure à la dimension d'une dent de la fourche ce qui permet l'interpénétration des dents de la fourche dans les vides de la palette.

L'objet à transporter D repose sur la palette de réception. Nous avons dit dans notre description de la fourche qui présente une mobilité en hauteur. S'opérateur doit donc :
1. déterminer cette hauteur afin de présenter les dents de la
fourche E en face des vides C de la palette de réception.
2. ajuster la hauteur du pressoir F de la pince à quelques
centimètres de plus que la hauteur de l'objet à transporter ( commande hydraulique)
3. introduire les dents de la fourche M dans les vides C de la
palette par un déplacement du chariot.
Une commande manuelâe permet d'amener les dents de la fourche <EMI ID=5.1>
Puis un mécanisme automatique de rotules enclenche les dents de la fourche dans les vides de la palette de réception J
4. actionner le vérin du ch ariot afin de décoller l'objet
de la palette de réception.
5. actionner le vérin de la descente du pressoir. L'objet est
ainsi maintenu en pression dynamique toute la durée du transport.
