Abstract

The lifting arrangement consists of a platform over which a frame is mounted. Two lifting heads are mounted on guide rods at either end of the frame. The lifting heads are pneumatically or electronically controlled to engage with the top sheet of the pile. The lifting head consists of a 'U' shaped profile with the open end facing downward. A block with pins is mounted in the U so that it can swivel about a horizontal axis to bring the points just below the level of the lifting head. When the heads are moved down and outward, the pins will engage with the top sheet on the pile of blanks which in the case of synthetic materials tend to adhere together due to electrostatic action.
