Abstract

Paralleledpiped reinforced plastic container for electric accumulators is made from a light transparent plastic material, and has a reinforcing frame applied to at least two vertical walls of the container. Pref. the container is made of an acrylonitrile copolymer e.g. styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer. The container is as transparent as a glass container, is resistant to sulphuric acid, is light and easily moulded, and has a good resistance to impacts and extreme temps. The frame maintains the dimensional stability of the container. The frame has at least two pieces in the form of an arc whose convex part is supported on a large vertical wall of the container. These pieces are provided with a metallic or reinforced metal cord between the arcs, and are connected and placed under tension by braces.
