1) la ou les roues de rechange sont portées sur le support ou ber- ceau de construction appropriée par un chariot coulissant et/ou roulant sus- ceptible d'être extrait du support et ramené sur ce dernier en vue du pla- cement ou de l'enlèvement de la roue de rechange et de prendre appui sur le sol par l'intermédiaire d'organes appropriés en position dé sortie ;
Fig.2 est une vue latérale en élévation du support ou berceau mon- trant le chariot portant une roue de rechange en position de rentrée;
Fig.3 est une coupe suivant 3-3 de Fig.2;

In the construction method generally adopted for the various types of industrial vehicles, such as trucks, tractors, etc., the spare wheel or wheels are carried by a fixed support forming a cradle placed directly below the chassis of the vehicle.
This design, required for construction reasons, makes the removal and replacement of the spare wheels difficult and painful. Indeed, as shown in Fig.1 of the accompanying drawing, which shows a partial elevational view from the rear of a motor vehicle, to remove the spare wheel R from its cradle 1 fixed under the chassis 2 of the vehicle, the effort to be made, given the size of the cradle 1 under the vehicle and the weight of the wheel (from 80 at 150 kgs depending on the type of vehicle), is such that the intervention of two men working in a very tiring position is generally necessary.
It should also be noted that the support 1 fixed rigidly to the frame of the vehicle undergoes continual vibrations on the road, which can cause the fasteners to break.
The present invention tends to eliminate these drawbacks and for this purpose it provides separately as well as simultaneously the following new arrangements:
1) the spare wheel (s) are carried on the support or cradle of suitable construction by a sliding and / or rolling trolley capable of being extracted from the support and brought back onto the latter for the purpose of placing or removing the spare wheel and resting on the ground by means of suitable bodies in the extended position;
2) the support or cradle is suspended from the vehicle frame by means of shock absorbers of the appropriate type.
The drawing appended to this memory represents an exemplary embodiment of the invention. In of 1 drawing:
Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the support or cradle showing the carriage carrying a spare wheel in the retracted position;
Fig.3 is a section on 3-3 of Fig.2;
Fig. 4 is a corresponding plan view, and
Fig.5 is a view corresponding to the section of Fig.3, the carriage shown in the output position.
As shown in Figs. 2 to 5, under the floor 2 of the vehicle is carried the support or cradle 1, of standard construction, but assembled to the side members 3 of the chassis by bolted plates 4, against which are mounted rubber shock absorbers 5 arranged flat, while other rubber shock absorbers 6 placed on the field are carried by reinforcing consoles 7 provided inside the cradle 1.
This resilient assembly makes it possible to absorb the vibrations produced during the rolling of the vehicle and consequently to prevent a rupture of the cradle.
According to the invention, the floor of the cradle 1 carries two rails 8 in the shape of a U, which at the desired spacing serve as a track with two rollers 9, rotating freely on an axis 10 fixed towards the rear of a frame 11 forming a carriage. This is extended outside the cradle
1 by two arms 12 of constant or adjustable position and length. The rollers 9 are advantageously mounted on nozzles or ball bearings.
The tracks 8 are closed at their two ends by stops 13 intended to limit the travel of the carriage both in the position.

tion of output than input. On the other hand, at the front the carriage 12 carries laterally at its front part two vertical tabs 14 pierced perpendicularly to the carriage with a hole 15. In the retracted position, these tabs 14 come to the fore. apply against fins 16 correspondingly fixed on the outside of the cradle 1, so that the hole 17, in which they are drilled, coincides with the hole 15 of the tabs 14; consequently a pin 18 introduced simultaneously into the holes 15 and 17 will lock the carriage in its retracted position.
It is understood that one could adopt any other locking mode as well.
The pins 18 being removed, it suffices to exert a traction on the arms 12 of the carriage 11 to roll the latter on the rails 8 and to bring it out of the cradle 1 with the tire R fixed to the carriage by a system of appropriate attachment; bolt, etc. As the carriage advances, it is @ until the arms come to rest on it. The wheel R can then be easily detached from the carriage by a single man to be mounted on the axle of the vehicle. Likewise, a spare wheel can easily be brought and fixed to the carriage 11, which will be returned to the cradle 1 by a reverse maneuver. It will suffice, when the carriage is retracted, to lock it, as has been explained previously.
At the rear of each of the legs 14 of the carriage 11, a vertical blade 19 has been fixed to the latter, at a distance such from these tabs that, when the carriage is in place in the cradle 1, the blades 19 rest against the inner wall of the cradle, while the holes 15 of the legs 14 and the holes 17 of the fins 16 coinden, which facilitates locking.
When exiting or reentering the trolley, it suffices to lift it slightly at the front to release or replace the blades 19.
Instead of providing the supporting carriage of the replacement wheel with track rollers, runners could be fitted therein so as to allow it to slide or slide on the cradle.
The exit of the trolley can be done on the right or on the left of the vehicle according to needs.
