PIED-SUPPORT STABILISATEUR AUTOMATIQUE POUR MOTO, VELO, ECHELLES, etc.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

AUTOMATIC STABILIZER STAND FOR MOTORCYCLES, BIKES, LADDERS, etc.
The use of the motorcycle, the bicycle, requires certain very useful accessories; we will consider in the present patent the question of the stabilization of these machines at rest.
Until now, this situation has been obtained with the aid of a support leg which is lowered when stopping and which maintains the machine in the vertical position when the ground is flat.
But it often happens that the stop is made on sloping ground, either to the right or to the left, in cases, the moo, the bike whose center of gravity is displaced, often drops and therefore often causes damage. damaging.
It was in order to remedy this drawback that the idea came to me to create an automatic stabilizing support foot.
With this automatic stabilizing foot-support, the motorcycle, the bicycle, the ladder, can be kept in a vertical position even though the terrain presents a steep gradient.
To obtain this result, I designed a device adapted to these machines at the location of the ordinary support feet and of which the description below.
The two support points (I, I ') which must rest on the ground are separated by a distance proportional (2) to the weight and size of the device to be supported. These two points are integral because they are the two ends of an iron bar (3) in profile, round, square, oval, triangular, rectangular, depending on the use to be made of it curved and thus forming a half circle; bar is housed in a sheath (4) where it can move circularly and freely.
This bar (3) is held on the side of the sheath (4) which is located below the inclination plane (5) fig. 5 of this when the appliance is in operation, by two springs (6) Fig. 2 which, when the appliance is not in use, allow the bar to move freely.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The sheath (4) is provided at its two ends with lugs (7); the bar (3) is provided at its ends and on the upper surface (8) of the plane of inclination of the device in service, with a series of notches (9) forming a rack.
When the appliance is put into service ;, as the bar (3) has a certain play in the sheath (4), the latter under the effect of the inclination, after having freely, being in the vertical position, automatically taken the ground level, the lugs (7) engage in the notches (9) racks, which vertically stabilizes the motorcycle, bicycle, or ladder.
Bulges (10) come at the ends of the bar (3) to widen the bases rest on the ground so as to prevent the latter from sinking into this ground in the event that the latter is not made of hard materials.
The operation of the device is simple.
Attached to the frame of the motorbike and suspended by any method of fixing while driving, immediately stopped, it suffices to fold down the device while holding it vertically, which allows the bar circulating freely in the sheath to adapt to the various levels and then tilt it slightly which has the effect of engaging the lugs in the notches, which prevents the bar from moving while stabilizing the motorcycle in the vertical position.
The shape of the device can be modified to adapt to different types of motorcycles or other devices.
CLAIMS.
1 I claim as being my invention an automatic stabilizing support foot for use on motorcycles, bicycles, ladders, or any other use requiring stabilization on sloping terrain.
2 I claim as being my invention, obtaining this result thanks to a metal bar, of any profile, of semi-circular shape which can slide circularly and freely in a sheath fixed between the uprights used to fix the device to machines capable of use it.
3 I claim as being my invention, the fact that the metal bar has a certain play in the sheath game used to obtain the free automatic movement which regulates the rotation of the bar having to match the level differences appearing in front of its end. Ci, which allows despite the differences encountered, to make the device take the vertical position.
4 I claim as being my invention, the fact that the free play of the bar in the sheath when the latter is vertical is obtained by means of two springs which hold the bar on the side opposite the lugs located at the ends of the sheath.
5 I claim as being my invention the stabilization of the apparatus in a vertical position, despite the differences in levels by the fact that by tilting the support leg, the lugs engage in the corresponding notches and by the weight of the machine using the stabilizer makes this vertical position absolutely stable.
6 I claim as being my invention, the apparatus described above, the model presented of which is indicative and not limiting, this method of construction being able to be modified to be used for other uses not described.
FIG. I represents the device which is not to scale, the dimensions having to correspond to the possibilities of adaptations to different types of motorcycles, bicycles, etc; the duct cover has been removed to show the bar (3) in its duct (4).
