<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"Tilt scale with additional weights.
The invention relates to an inclination scale with additional weights and to an intermediate device for them.
In the tilt balances with additional oids known hitherto, either these are suspended freely - on levers, or they are put in relation with the beam of the balance by more or less complicated systems. This system had the disadvantage that the box above the beam of the balance must therefore undergo considerable expansion and that the balance itself takes up a lot of space, or else only one, or at most two weights. additional can be arranged and used.
The object of the invention is to overcome these drawbacks and to create a tilting scale with which a greater number of additional weights can be employed and in which the additional weights can be placed directly on the beam of the beam. balance and rest in it constantly during weighing, and in which the placement and removal of additional weights allows

a saving of space by the intervention of an intermediate device disposed below the beam of the balance.
According to the invention, the device is established in such a way that the additional weights are supported by a support on which they rest by their base, which support moves vertically downward and upward. by the use of the additional weights on a device on which they rest by their base, it is made possible to adapt the length of the stroke covered by the intermediate weights in the proportions each time necessary in such a way that above the fleau ae the scale itself, we should not even plan any ... space for the weights,
so that the dimensions of the scale can be kept as small as possible
To achieve the most favorable construction methods of such a balance, it was recommended to arrange the axes of rotation of the levers for the intermediate device and of the indicative mechanism parallel to each other, transversely to the lever of the balance, and below it. In addition, it is always possible to fix on the same frame the part of the intermediate device relating to the additional weights, and the bearings of the levers and of the indicator mechanism, and accommodate this frame in the foot. of the balance. Obviously, it is also possible to combine 2 or more of these frames together.
In the accompanying drawings is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 shows a side view after section of a tilting scale according to the invention and Figure 2 a plan view of such a scale.
FIG. 3 makes it possible to grasp the intermediate device, for the additional weights according to a side view and FIG. 4 is the same as the previous one at a larger ecellen

and where the levers and gudage devices occupy another position. Fig. 5 is a corresponding plan and partly sectional figure.
A designates an intermediate weight, placed on the beam of the balance, the latter usually resting on knives.
In order to place this intermediate weight, a lever G resting at F (fig. 3) in an adequate manner is established transversely with respect to the beam B of the balance, one end of which is usually actuated by a cam attached to a tree D.
The latter is in the usual way connected, by means of gears, with a transverse shaft actuated by a handle C. The other end of the lever G is in relation with a second lever L which is fixed at K d 'in an adequate way. The free end of the lever L is in relation to the weight holder J which, with the help of the other lever M, can slide in a vertical upward and downward movement. To receive the weights, the beam B of the @@ ance is provided with prismatic housings N. The spring Q serves to ensure a sufficient lowering of the levers L and M, when the weight A, placed on the beam of the scale is removed.
The support anoints of the levers G, L, M and of the shaft D are fixed on the frame 0, which is housed in the foot of the balance.
By the rotation of the lever C, the cam disc fixed on the shaft D is rotated until the free end of the lever G is released, then the other end of the lever F, which is in connection with the lever L is lowered and therefore, by means of the weight support, the additional weight is placed in the desired position on the beam of the balance.
