La partie libre de la languette 10 est déformée pour quitter la paroi inférieure de la traverse 8 et agencée de manière à s'engager contre la base du bord dressé 6 ; la longueur de la partie libre de la languette 10 est telle à être écartée de la patte 21 d'une distance pouvant être équivalente à l'épaisseur de la paroi du récipient l;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

BRACKET FOR THE CONTROL ELEMENT OF A MOBILE COMPONENT
ESPECIALLY FOR HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES.
The present invention relates to a support cross member for the control element of a movable member, in particular: for household appliances, such as a colander, mash press, - vegetable grater, shear, threshers and other utensils.
In general, and with regard to colanders, vegetable choppers and other similar household utensils, these include a receptacle of various shapes as required 'and the bottom of which is provided with openings, claws or - of- knives according to the type of device * On the said base moves a mobile element integral with a- shaft- terminated by a crank.
This shaft is guided first of all in an orifice provided for this purpose in the said bottom, then in a removable cross-member fixing itself by its ends using claws to the wall of the container; a spring bearing on the cross member exerts an elastic pressure of the movable member on the bottom of the container. Practice shows that fastening of the crosshead is often difficult to achieve, and that fasteners for the crosshead can be awkward in small sized utensils and it is especially referred to here vegetable choppers, and colanders. for a small flow.
The same is true of the mixers for creams and mayonnaise sauces, the control rod of which is also located in the upper part of the receptacle.
One of the characteristics of the invention resides in a flange provided with a bearing for the passage of the control shaft of the movable member, this flange being arranged to clamp on the one hand, a discontinuous edge erected on the wall. of the container, and on the other hand, said wall of the container, - so as to hold the flange fixedly relative to the container during the forces exerted on the crank for controlling the shaft of the movable member.
The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description and the drawing which will follow, in which FIG. 1 is an axial section of a household utensil shown schematically and on which the device for holding the control shaft is disposed.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a support cross member with a single fixing element.
Figure 3 is a plan view of the utensil.
FIG. 4 shows in section an alternative embodiment of a cross member with two fixing elements and applied to a container.
FIG. 5 is a plan view of the cross member according to FIG. 4.
Figure 6 gives in section another variant embodiment of a cross member, while
Figure 7 is a plan view.
According to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the container 1 of the household utensil comprises a bottom 2 which is perforated, perforated, corrugated or arranged in any other way - according to a type of household utensil. Above the bottom 2 moves a movable member 3 integral with a control shaft 4 which is curved at its upper part to form the drive crank. A spring 5 exerts an elastic pressure on the movable member 3 in order to cooperate plastically with the said base 2.
The upper edge of the container 1 is bent inwardly d3 so as to form an upright flange 6, this flange being partially cut away so as to form a recess 7.
The control shaft 4 is supported by a cross member 8 passing through an orifice 9 constituting a second bearing to said control shaft 4 already engaged in an opening 12 provided at the center of the base 2 when placing in the working position in the container . This cross member is integral at its lower part with a tongue 10, while its free end directed outwards is bent downwards so as to form a tab 11 which matches the outer wall of the container 1 when 'shaft 4 occupies an axial position with respect to said container.
The free part of the tongue 10 is deformed to leave the lower wall of the cross member 8 and arranged so as to engage against the base of the raised edge 6; the length of the free part of the tab 10 is such as to be spaced from the tab 21 by a distance which may be equivalent to the thickness of the wall of the container 1;
The introduction of the movable member 3 into the container is done in the usual manner and the lower end of said shaft is housed in the central orifice 12 of the bottom 2 intended to serve as a lower bearing for the shaft 4.
The cross member 8 is slid along the shaft 4 and the spring 5 being compressed, the cross member is brought above the notch 7, so as to allow the tongue 10 by a rotating movement of said tra- pours to be placed under the bard 6 of the container and thus clamp the latter between the said tab and the cross member. This rotation is sufficient to properly maintain the flange 8 on the container, so that it serves both as a support for the shaft 4 and as a stop for the spring 5.
When the tongue 10 is engaged in the notch 7 and the crosspiece rests properly on the upper edge of the container, the crosspiece is stuck on the container under the combined effect of the tab 10 and the flange. 11, so that any upward movement of said cross member is prevented.
To facilitate the rotations of the flange with a view to its installation and its release, a handle 13 is mounted on the tab 11. It goes without saying that the tongue 10 and the handle 13 can be formed by cutting. in the same flange.
The raised edge 6 may have more than one notch 7.
Referring to Figs 4 and 5, there is shown a cross member 81 extending over the entire diameter of the container and it has under its underside two tabs 101-102.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The tongues 101 and 102 are intended to be engaged under the flange 6 of the container and which is drawn up internally; the flange '6 is thus' pinched between the tabs 101 - 102 and the cross member 18.'
The length of the tongues 101 and 102 is such that their free end is in contact with the internal face of the container so that the flange 8 is held fixedly to the container during the rotation of the shaft.
The flange 6 is provided with at least two diametrically opposed notches 7 in order to allow the engagement of the tongues under the edge 6.
In figs 6 and 7, there is shown a cross member 82, but the ends of which are bent 180 downwards so as to directly form tongues 103-10 capable of gripping a rim 61 of the container, this rim being drawn up towards the outside.
The spacing between the tabs 103 and 104 is such that the outer wall of the container is clamped between said tabs.
For the installation of the flange on the container as well as its release, the edge 82 is provided with notches (not shown).
The sleepers described above find their application in household utensils other than that described above and in particular to those used to beat cream, mayonnaise sauce and the like.
The invention has been described and illustrated purely as an indication and in no way limiting, and it goes without saying that numerous modifications can be made to its details without departing from its spirit.
