<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Receipt holder with suction cup.
In known suction cup receipt holders, the partial vacuum created in the suction cup to make it adhere to the windshield or other automobile glass is produced by a screw and nut system which draws the bottom of the suction cup against that of the housing when screwing the nut.
Several turns of the nut are necessary to screw it in fully, and as it must first be unscrewed to expel the air from the suction cup then screw it back to create a vacuum in it, the operation takes a appreciable time. In addition, the vent does not adhere from the first turn of the nut and if care is not taken to press strongly on the housing while screwing the nut, the assembly turns with the nut and the nut. receipt is fixed askew, which obliges the operation to be repeated.
The object of the present invention is to avoid these drawbacks and to provide a receipt holder with instant attachment and immediate adhesion.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
According to the invention, the traction on the bottom of the vent is exerted by a cam, which it suffices to turn a fraction of a turn to create a vacuum in the suction cup applied to the windshield or other ice. required for it to adhere permanently. Likewise, a fraction of a turn of the cam in the opposite direction is sufficient to expel the air from the suction cup prior to its fixing, under the action of a spring which separates the bottom of the suction cup from that of the housing when the cam is loose.
The appended drawing shows by way of example one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows in perspective, detached from each other, the elements of a receipt holder according to the invention, and
Figs. 2 and 3 are two side views, partially in section, of the mounted receipt holder, showing the elements thereof in two different positions.
In these figures, 1 denotes the suction cup which is provided, in accordance with the invention, with a grooved rim 2 in which the edge of the housing 3 fits and, preferably, a gasket ring 4, inside this edge. and intended to increase the bearing surface of the housing in the groove 2.
On either side of the bottom of the suction cup are provided two rigid discs 5 and 6, one of which 5, of larger diameter and placed inside the suction cup, carries in the center a screw 7 which, when the holder -quittance is mounted, axially crosses the suction cup 1, the second disc 6 and a conical coil spring
8 interposed between this disc and the inside of the case 3.
The cam 9 is applied on the outer face of the housing, which is retained by the head of a cap nut 10, the cylindrical body of which passes axially through the cam and the housing to be

screw on screw 7, thus assembling all the elements of the receipt holder together.
In the form of a button, the cam 9 has on its face adjacent to the exterior face of the housing three cramps 11 which cooperate with three projections 12 provided on this face of the housing.
120 from each other. The cam 9 can rotate on the body of the nut 10 forming an axis, to pass from a position close to the housing, in which the projections 12 are housed between the ramps 11 (Fig. 2), to a position away from the housing ( Fig. 3), under the action of the ramps rising on the projections, one of which 12 ', higher, enters a stopper 13 at the top of the corresponding ramp, to keep the cam in this separated position.
A rotation of a third of a turn is sufficient to move the cam from one position to the other.
Close to the housing (Fig. 2), the cam allows the spring 8 to push the bottom of the suction cup outwards, which has the effect of expelling the air from the suction cup. If this is then applied against the windshield or other glass to which the receipt holder is to be attached, and if the cam 9 is turned a third of a turn, the cam moving away from the housing (Fig. 3) attracts to. inside the latter the discs 5, 6 and the bottom of the suction cup in which a sufficient vacuum is immediately produced to make it adhere instantly to the ice.
The receipt is placed in a known manner on the disc
5, in the suction cup.
Obviously, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described here and modifications can be made to it without departing from its scope. In particular, the cam can have any other shape than that shown by way of example, the ramps possibly being provided on the housing and the projections on the button or else the cam being able also to be an eccentric rotating in a plane perpendicular to the housing. , for example,

and the assembly by screw and nut which can be replaced by a fixed axle or any other suitable device.
