<EMI ID=2.1>

Device for measuring the working stroke of the mobile tool holder of machine tools.
<EMI ID = 2.1>
Devices are already known for measuring the working stroke of the mobile tool holder of machine tools, in which the longitudinal movement of the tool holder is transmitted to a needle indicator by means of a shaft controlling the rollers.
friction. In these measuring devices, the shaft drives cylindrical friction rollers.
The object of the present invention is to make the ratio of the longitudinal displacement of the tool holder to the rotational movement of the needle to the devices described above variable, so that the measuring device can be adjusted in such a way that a full rotation of the needle corresponds to a rounded amount, for example 10 cm., of the lateral displacement.
It is already known in measuring devices to insert a conical roller in the rotary control of a needle in order to obtain a variable transmission for different measuring amplitudes. It is also already known in measuring devices in which a rectilinear movement is transformed into a rotary movement of the needle, to adjust the transmission ratio between these two movements during walking, by inserting a cylindrical roller in the path of force, so that it can act on each point along the length of a lever that must turn with the needle.
In order to achieve this object, the invention provides for the use of a similar means, that is to say of a low friction roller.

The measuring device has to be adjusted only once, for example by determining by means of a gauge a working path of 10 cm .; then, by an axial displacement of the conical roller e towards one or the other side, the transmission ratio is adjusted so that a complete rotation of the needle d on the disc at 100 graduations for example corresponds to the measured path .
From time to time, the match of the needle indicator may be examined or restored. If, for example, a groove has formed on the conical roller, this can be easily removed by sharpening; the roller can then be readjusted.
