<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The present arrangement uses as a heat source the cooling water which circulates around the engine to heat the interior of the car and this in two different ways as follows: 1 - Hot water heating. - The cooling water, after having circulated in the engine, first enters the heating piping entirely or partially, the interior of the car being heated by an ordinary hot water radiator, supplied directly by this water, and there completely or partially gives up the heat necessary for its cooling, and then enters the ordinary cooling radiator in order to it,
release the remaining heat and thus continue its usual circulation. The heating radiator is made up of simple metal pipes of any kind, light, with good conduotibility, sometimes fitted with fins to thus organize good heat transmission in relation to a minimum volume.
A valve regulated by the driver is placed at the inlet of the piping to regulate on the one hand the quantity of water admitted therein, and on the other hand the remainder which enters the cooling radiator directly (fig. 5 Pl 1 ) 3 - Hot air heating - The air / from inside the car is used exclusively, or with the addition of fresh air, to cool the water in the radiator so that the fan sucks in the air from the car, instead of sucking it in from the outside, through a hermetically sealed duct fitted with a heat-insulating covering, if necessary, and then discharging this air, heated after the passage through the radiator in the interior of the car also. It is a real "warm and hygienic ventilation that is organized in the car.
The various technical solutions of these principles are as follows: a- a wind box similar to a locomotive smoke box, of any external shape + 'applied to the front of the car hermetically attached to the radiator (fig. . 1 pl. II). The air aspiration occurs through one (or more) pipes (or a tarpaulin) placed at the lower part of the car above the ground, which on the one hand opens into the car through openings located below the seats, on the other hand in the windshield.
The latter is open towards the radiator and thus 1-air is drawn directly through the radiator and delivered by one (or more) delivery pipes placed next to or above the engine under the hood, and which is

opens out on the one hand into a vertical metal plate which hermetically separates the engine from the "ventilation chamber" made up of the wind box, the radiator, and the propeller to prevent the gases sometimes given off by the engine from entering the car , and on the other hand it opens into the plate which separates the engine from the car, towards the height of the driver's feet.
b- the suction pipe is also hidden under the hood and opens into the plate which limits the venthlation chamber, while the latter is divided into two compartments, one of which contains the fan and serves as a discharge, and the another which can be subdivided into several, depending on the position of the propeller, serves aspiration (Fig. 2 P1 I 1). - c- if the engine is wrapped beforehand, instead of using pipes, the hood is hermetically closed and the enclosure around the engine is divided into two compartments as well as the ventilation chamber, one of which serves the discharge and the other the suction (fig. 3 P1 1 1) (the discharge that which contains the propeller).
d- In the event that the radiator is placed behind the engine, the discharge occurs directly through openings in the interior of the car without piping and the suction pipes open into the ventilation chamber behind the engine which is fitted with a metal plate as above (Fig. 4 P1 1 1). Interior arrangements, adjustment: suction openings in the interior of the car are placed under the rear seats and in order to increase the passage section and thus reduce the speed of the draft, suction openings are left in the seats. front, also as well as pipes against the side walls (inside) which suck air at the top of, the car near the roof (fig. 2 P1.1 1).
For the same reason, external pipes can be applied on the roof and against the rear walls of the car which also suck air from the upper part of the car, as well as from the rear windows. The temperature is adjusted by adding cool air which mixes intimately with hot air and it is only after that it enters the car. This fresh air enters through holes carried by the suction pipe, placed below the conductor on a certain portion of the walls. This portion of pipes has a metal jacket which can slide against the walls and also completely or partially cover the holes. The control of this movement is obtained by wire and pulley or by ball by the conductor. You can install similar holes on the wind boot as well.
