BOITE A GANTS AVEC COUVERCLE ET TABLETTE PLIANTE
L'invention concerne un compartiment servant à recevoir des objets divers-appelé également boîte à gants ou vide-poches-, muni d'une porte ou couvercle et d'une tablette pliante disposée sur le couvercle, qui est agencé dans la planche de bord d'un véhicule automobile, en particulier d'un véhicule utilitaire ou d'un autocar, du côté du passager assis à côté du conducteur, la tablette dépassant du compartiment lorsque le couvercle est ouvert pour être utilisée par le passager et son dessus de tablette, pouvant être soutenu, étant composé de deux panneaux de tablette ayant à peu près la même grandeur et repliables l'un contre l'autre à la position de non-utilisation de la tablette.
Dans le cas d'un compartiment de rangement connu à tablette pliante intégrée de ce type (modèle d'utilité allemand 1 757 006), l'un des panneaux de la tablette est disposé fixe sur le côté intérieur du couvercle, de manière qu'à la position ouverte du couvercle - qui est relevable et abaissable par rotation autour d'un axe de basculement situé en bas, de sorte qu'il fait saillie à peu près horizontalement vers le passager à partir du compartiment à sa position ouverte dégageant le compartiment, - ce panneau se trouve à peu près horizontalement devant le compartiment ouvert.
L'axe de pliage entre les deux panneaux de la tablette se trouve alors sur le bord longitudinal arrière, éloigné du passager, des deux panneaux, de sorte que le panneau supérieur, replié contre le panneau attaché fixe au couvercle, doit être rabattu vers l'arrière à l'intérieur du compartiment pour créer le dessus déployé de la tablette.
Ce compartiment connu à tablette pliante a l'inconvénient que le dessus de la tablette se situe au niveau du bord inférieur du compartiment, donc relativement bas. Pour des raisons ergonomiques, le passager ne peut donc s'en servir que comme surface pour poser des objets, mais non pas pour des travaux d'écriture par

exemple. Pour pouvoir servir de surface permettant de poser des objets, la tablette doit être soutenue par des éléments d'appui représentant des pièces séparées et devant être immobilisés sur le côté inférieur de la planche de bord, mais qui perdent leur fonction de soutien quand le panneau arrière de la tablette est chargée plus fortement que le panneau avant.
Le panneau supérieur, rabattable dans la profondeur du compartiment, nécessite un compartiment pratiquement vide ou son vidage en cas d'utilisation de la tablette. De plus, le compartiment limite l'accès au panneau arrière. Du point de vue ergonomique, la tablette dans son ensemble est trop éloignée du passager, de sorte que celui-ci est obligé de prendre une position penchée loin en avant pour se servir de la tablette.
Le but de l'invention est de perfectionner un compartiment de rangement avec couvercle et tablette pliante disposée sur celui-ci, du type mentionné au début, de manière que la position d'utilisation de la tablette réponde largement aux exigences ergonomiques pour son emploi par le passager et qu'une stabilité suffisante - s'établissant automatiquement-soit garantie, et que la fonction de rangement du compartiment ne soit pas affectée en position d'utilisation ni en position de nonutilisation de la tablette pliante.
Conformément à l'invention, on obtient ce résultat, avec un compartiment de rangement comme défini au début, par le fait que le couvercle est relevable autour d'un axe de basculement disposé sur le bord arrière, éloigné du passager, du compartiment, et que l'un des panneaux de la tablette est supporté oscillant, par son bord longitudinal éloigné de l'autre panneau de la tablette, sur le bord longitudinal avant du couvercle, dirigé vers le passager, et présente sur son côté inférieur opposé au dessus de la tablette, une rainure transversale parallèle à ce bord longitudinal, rainure qui est

disposée et conformée de manière que le panneau concerné puisse venir s'ajuster à complémentarité de formes, par cette rainure, à la position d'utilisation de la tablette pliante, par-dessus la partie de préhension,
s'étendant parallèlement à distance devant le compartiment, d'une poignée installée sur la planche de bord pour faciliter la montée à bord du passager.
Grâce à la possibilité de basculement vers le haut-prévue selon l'invention-du couvercle du compartiment et l'articulation de la tablette sur son bord avant, se relevant à l'ouverture du couvercle, la tablette est amenée à une position ergonomiquement favorable pour le passager, devant la planche de bord, lors de l'ouverture du couvercle. L'encliquetage du panneau arrière de la tablette, par la rainure transversale de son dessous sur la partie de préhension d'une poignée installée sur la planche de bord, assure d'une part l'immobilité de la tablette et, d'autre part, une stabilité suffisante à sa position d'utilisation.
En variant la distance entre la rainure transversale et le bord avant du couvercle, ou le bord longitudinal arrière articulé sur ce bord avant du panneau arrière de la tablette, celle-ci peut être avancée plus ou moins, dans certaines limites, vers le passager et il est possible aussi de donner ainsi une certaine inclinaison au dessus de la tablette. Comme la tablette se trouve en dehors du compartiment de rangement à sa position d'utilisation et comme elle est repliable à sa position de non-utilisation contre le côté intérieur du couvercle, grâce au fait que son axe d'oscillation ou d'articulation est prévu sur le bord avant en haut du couvercle, la contenance du compartiment n'est aucunement restreinte.
Le compartiment avec la tablette pliante, mais également la tablette pliante seule, sont réalisables sous différentes tailles désirées. En remplaçant le couvercle, le compartiment peut en plus être équipé après

coup d'une tablette pliante. Le dépliage et le repliage de la tablette sont très pratiques et commodes.
D'autres caractéristiques et avantages de l'invention ressortiront plus clairement de la description qui va suivre d'un exemple de réalisation non limitatif, ainsi que des dessins annexés, sur lesquels : - la figure 1 est une vue en perspective d'un compartiment ménagé dans la planche de bord d'un véhicule automobile et servant à recevoir des objets divers, avec son couvercle ouvert et à l'état déplié d'une tablette incorporée dans le compartiment ; - la figure 2 est une représentation semblable à la figure 1, mais avec la tablette dépliée en partie seulement ; - la figure 3 est une coupe suivant la ligne III-III de la figure 1 ; et - les figures 4 et 5 sont des représentations semblables à la figure 3, mais montrant respectivement la tablette partiellement sortie et le compartiment complètement fermé.
Le compartiment de rangement 11, représenté en perspective sur les figures 1 et 2, est agencé devant le passager assis à côté du conducteur dans la planche de bord 10 d'un véhicule automobile, en particulier d'un véhicule utilitaire ou d'un autocar. Comme on peut le voir sur la figure 2, on a fixé en plus sur la planche de bord 10, sous le compartiment 11, une poignée 12 qui facilite au passager de prendre place sur son siège, poignée qui fait saillie vers le haut et vers le passager sur la planche de bord 10 et dont la partie de préhension 121 s'étend parallèlement au bord avant 111-dirigé vers le passager-du compartiment 11. Ce dernier peut être couvert complètement par un couvercle 13 conformé de manière qu'il soit ajusté à fleur dans la planche de bord 10 quand le compartiment 11 est fermé.
Ainsi que cela ressort en particulier des figures 3 à 5, le couvercle 13

possède à cet effet un profil angulaire à ailes inégales, comprenant une longue aile 131 et une courte aile 132 qui est coudée vers le bas à partir de la longue aile à la position fermée du couvercle. Le long du bord libre de la longue aile 131, s'étend un axe de basculement 14 par lequel le couvercle 13 est monté basculant dans la planche de bord 10 sur le bord arrière 112-éloigné du passager - du compartiment 11. Quand ce dernier est fermé, l'extrémité libre de l'aile plus courte 132 s'applique contre le bord avant 111 du compartiment 11, tandis que, à l'ouverture du compartiment, cette extrémité libre est relevée, de sorte qte l'intérieur du compartiment 11 est dégagé pour l'accès du conducteur et du passager.
On a intégré dans le compartiment de rangement 11 une tablette pliante 15 qui est repliée contre le côté intérieur du couvercle 13 quand le compartiment est fermé et peut être dépliée hors du compartiment 11 après l'ouverture de celui-ci-, c'est-à-dire après le relèvement du couvercle 13. La tablette 15 est composée de deux panneaux 16, 17 ayant à peu près la même grandeur, reliés de façon articulée l'un à l'autre, qui sont repliables l'un contre l'autre à la position de non-utilisation de la tablette 15 et qui constituent, après leur dépliage dans un plan, le dessus de la tablette 15. Les panneaux 16,17 sont maintenus chacun, par leurs petits côtés, s'étendant transversalement aux côtés longitudinaux reliés de façon articulée l'un à l'autre, entre deux bras porteurs 18,19 ou 20,21.
Les bras porteurs arrière 18,19, recevant le panneau 16 de la tablette, sont reliés chacun par une articulation 22 ou 23 aux bras porteurs avant 20,21 recevant le panneau 17 de la tablette. Les axes des deux articulations 22, 23-définissant l'axe de pliage des panneaux-sont mutuellement alignés et situés dans le plan de joint des deux panneaux 16,17. Les bras porteurs arrière 18,19, recevant le panneau 16, sont chacun coudés vers le bas, près de leur extrémité, et fixés par leur

extrémité libre, par l'intermédiaire d'une charnière 24 ou 25, à l'extrémité libre de l'aile plus courte 132 du couvercle angulaire 13. Ces deux charnières 24,25 fixent l'axe d'oscillation 26 de la tablette 15, par lequel celle-ci est montée sur le bord avant du couvercle 13.
Le coudage des bras porteurs arrière 18,19 est tel que les extrémités coudées, lorsque le panneau 16 est rabattu contre le côté intérieur du couvercle 13, plus exactement contre l'aile plus longue 131 du profil angulaire du couvercle, viennent se placer le long de la courte aile 132 de ce profil et s'appliquer à plat contre celle-ci. La longueur des petits côtés du panneau 16, maintenu entre les bras porteurs arrière 18,19, et par suite la longueur de la partie droite des bras arrière 18,19 recevant le panneau 16, ont été choisies de manière que ce panneau 16 s'applique à plat contre l'aile plus longue 131 du profil angulaire du couvercle 13.
Les articulations 22,23 entre les bras 18,20 ou 19,21 sont réalisées de manière que le panneau avant 17 puisse être replié de 180 , par son côté supérieur formant une partie du dessus de la tablette, contre le côté supérieur, formant l'autre partie de ce dessus, du panneau arrière 16 (figures 1 et 4). A cette position pliée, les deux panneaux 16,17 sont rabattus contre le côté intérieur du couvercle 13 où ils sont fixés. La largeur des deux panneaux 16,17, considérée dans le sens du dépliage, a été choisie de manière que lorsque les deux panneaux en question sont pliés l'un contre l'autre, ils puissent être rabattus contre la partie du côté intérieur du couvercle 13 s'étendant le long de l'aile plus longue 131 du profil angulaire.
Après ce rabattement de la tablette, le couvercle 13 peut être abaissé par rotation autour de son axe de basculement 14, jusqu'à ce qu'il recouvre complètement le compartiment 11 à la position de fermeture illustrée sur la figure 5. Pour obtenir la position d'utilisation de la tablette 15, les deux

articulations 22,23 entre les bras porteurs 18,21 permettent un dépliage tel des deux panneaux 16,17 que les extrémités ou tranches dirigées l'une vers l'autre des panneaux 16,17 et/ou des bras 18 et 20 ou 19 et 21 viennent s'appuyer l'une contre l'autre (figures 1 et 3).
Les deux panneaux 16,17 de la tablette sont alors situés dans un plan.
Pour soutenir la tablette 15 d'en bas, le côté inférieur du panneau arrière 16, articulé sur le couvercle 13, est pourvu d'une rainure transversale 27 parallèle à l'axe d'oscillation 26 du panneau 16, rainure qui est agencée et conformée de manière que lorsque la tablette 15 est dépliée, le panneau 16 puisse venir se placer à complémentarité de formes, par cette rainure, par-dessus de la partie de préhension 21 de la poignée 12 dépassant de la planche de bord 10 (figure 3). On obtient ainsi un support très stable de la tablette 15, autorisant également l'appui des bras du passager sur elle, par exemple pour écrire.
Le soutien par la partie de préhension 121 de la poignée 12 fixe également la hauteur de la tablette 15, laquelle peut être adaptée, par une conformation adéquate de la poignée 12, de manière que le passager puisse prendre une position assise ergonomiquement favorable pour écrire. En réalisant la rainure transversale 27-dans les limites du panneau 16 de la tablettedavantage vers l'axe de basculement 14 du couvercle 13 ou davantage vers l'axe de pliage défini par les articulations 22,23 entre les panneaux 16 et 17, la distance entre la tablette 15 dépliée et le passager peut être variée dans certaines limites et il est possible aussi de conférer une certaine inclinaison au dessus de la tablette, si bien que l'emplacement de la rainure transversale 27 dans le panneau arrière 16 est déterminé aussi par des aspects ergonomiques.

The invention relates to a compartment for receiving various objects - also called glove box or storage compartment -, provided with a door or cover and a folding shelf arranged on the cover, which is arranged in the dashboard of a motor vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle or a coach, on the side of the passenger seated next to the driver, the shelf protruding from the compartment when the cover is open for use by the passenger and his shelf top , which can be supported, being composed of two shelf panels of approximately the same size and foldable against one another in the position of non-use of the shelf.
In the case of a known storage compartment with an integrated folding shelf of this type (German utility model 1 757 006), one of the panels of the shelf is arranged fixed on the inside of the cover, so that in the open position of the cover - which can be raised and lowered by rotation around a tilting axis located at the bottom, so that it projects approximately horizontally towards the passenger from the compartment in its open position releasing the compartment , - this panel is located almost horizontally in front of the open compartment.

To be able to serve as a surface for placing objects, the shelf must be supported by support elements representing separate parts and which must be immobilized on the lower side of the dashboard, but which lose their support function when the panel rear of the tablet is loaded more heavily than the front panel.
The upper panel, which can be folded down into the depth of the compartment, requires a practically empty compartment or its emptying when the tablet is used. In addition, the compartment limits access to the rear panel. From an ergonomic point of view, the tablet as a whole is too far from the passenger, so that the latter is obliged to take a position leaning far forward to use the tablet.
The object of the invention is to improve a storage compartment with cover and folding shelf arranged thereon, of the type mentioned at the start, so that the position of use of the shelf largely meets the ergonomic requirements for its use by the passenger and that sufficient stability - establishing itself automatically - is guaranteed, and that the compartment storage function is not affected in the use position or in the non-use position of the folding shelf.
In accordance with the invention, this result is obtained, with a storage compartment as defined at the start, by the fact that the cover is liftable around a tilting axis disposed on the rear edge, distant from the passenger, from the compartment, and that one of the panels of the tablet is supported oscillating, by its longitudinal edge remote from the other panel of the tablet, on the front longitudinal edge of the cover, directed towards the passenger, and present on its lower side opposite above the shelf, a transverse groove parallel to this longitudinal edge, a groove which is

Thanks to the possibility of tilting upward-provided according to the invention-of the compartment cover and the articulation of the shelf on its front edge, rising at the opening of the cover, the shelf is brought to an ergonomically favorable position for the passenger, in front of the dashboard, when the cover is opened. The latching of the rear panel of the tablet, by the transverse groove of its underside on the grip part of a handle installed on the dashboard, ensures on the one hand the immobility of the tablet and, on the other hand , sufficient stability in its position of use.
By varying the distance between the transverse groove and the front edge of the cover, or the rear longitudinal edge articulated on this front edge of the rear panel of the tablet, the latter can be advanced more or less, within certain limits, towards the passenger and it is also possible to give a certain inclination above the tablet. As the shelf is outside the storage compartment in its position of use and as it is foldable in its position of non-use against the inside of the cover, thanks to the fact that its axis of oscillation or articulation is provided on the front edge at the top of the cover, the capacity of the compartment is in no way restricted.
The compartment with the folding shelf, but also the folding shelf alone, can be produced in different desired sizes. By replacing the cover, the compartment can also be fitted after

shot of a folding shelf. Unfolding and folding the tablet is very practical and convenient.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly from the description which follows of a non-limiting exemplary embodiment, as well as from the appended drawings, in which: - Figure 1 is a perspective view of a compartment formed in the dashboard of a motor vehicle and used to receive various objects, with its cover open and in the unfolded state of a tablet incorporated in the compartment; - Figure 2 is a representation similar to Figure 1, but with the shelf unfolded in part only; - Figure 3 is a section along line III-III of Figure 1; and - Figures 4 and 5 are representations similar to Figure 3, but respectively showing the partially extended shelf and the completely closed compartment.
The storage compartment 11, shown in perspective in Figures 1 and 2, is arranged in front of the passenger seated next to the driver in the dashboard 10 of a motor vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle or a coach . As can be seen in FIG. 2, in addition to the dashboard 10, under the compartment 11, a handle 12 has been fixed which facilitates the passenger to take his seat, a handle which projects upwards and towards the passenger on the dashboard 10 and whose gripping portion 121 extends parallel to the front edge 111-directed towards the passenger-of the compartment 11. The latter can be completely covered by a cover 13 shaped so that it is fitted flush with the dashboard 10 when the compartment 11 is closed.

has for this purpose an angular profile with unequal wings, comprising a long wing 131 and a short wing 132 which is bent downwards from the long wing in the closed position of the cover. Along the free edge of the long wing 131, extends a tilting axis 14 by which the cover 13 is pivotally mounted in the dashboard 10 on the rear edge 112-distant from the passenger - from the compartment 11. When the latter is closed, the free end of the shorter wing 132 is pressed against the front edge 111 of the compartment 11, while, at the opening of the compartment, this free end is raised, so that the interior of the compartment 11 is cleared for the access of the driver and the passenger.
A folding shelf 15 has been integrated into the storage compartment 11 which is folded against the inside of the cover 13 when the compartment is closed and can be folded out of the compartment 11 after the latter has been opened. that is to say after the cover 13 has been raised. The shelf 15 is composed of two panels 16, 17 having approximately the same size, hingedly connected to each other, which are foldable one against the other at the position of non-use of the shelf 15 and which constitute, after their unfolding in a plane, the top of the shelf 15. The panels 16, 17 are each held by their short sides, extending transversely to the sides longitudinal hingedly connected to each other, between two carrying arms 18,19 or 20,21.
The rear support arms 18, 19, receiving the panel 16 of the tablet, are each connected by a hinge 22 or 23 to the front support arms 20, 21 receiving the panel 17 of the tablet. The axes of the two joints 22, 23 - defining the axis of folding of the panels - are mutually aligned and located in the plane of joint of the two panels 16,17. The rear support arms 18, 19, receiving the panel 16, are each bent downwards, near their end, and fixed by their

free end, via a hinge 24 or 25, at the free end of the shorter wing 132 of the angular cover 13. These two hinges 24, 25 fix the axis of oscillation 26 of the shelf 15 , by which it is mounted on the front edge of the cover 13.
The bending of the rear support arms 18,19 is such that the bent ends, when the panel 16 is folded against the inside of the cover 13, more precisely against the longer wing 131 of the angular profile of the cover, are placed along of the short wing 132 of this profile and apply flat against it. The length of the short sides of the panel 16, held between the rear support arms 18,19, and consequently the length of the right part of the rear arms 18,19 receiving the panel 16, were chosen so that this panel 16 s' applies flat against the longer wing 131 of the angular profile of the cover 13.
The joints 22, 23 between the arms 18, 20 or 19, 21 are made so that the front panel 17 can be folded back by 180, by its upper side forming a part of the top of the shelf, against the upper side, forming the 'other part of this above, the rear panel 16 (Figures 1 and 4). In this folded position, the two panels 16,17 are folded against the inside of the cover 13 where they are fixed. The width of the two panels 16,17, considered in the unfolding direction, was chosen so that when the two panels in question are folded against each other, they can be folded against the part of the inner side of the cover 13 extending along the longer wing 131 of the angular profile.
After this folding of the shelf, the cover 13 can be lowered by rotation around its tilting axis 14, until it completely covers the compartment 11 in the closed position illustrated in FIG. 5. To obtain the position of using tablet 15, both

joints 22,23 between the supporting arms 18,21 allow unfolding such of the two panels 16,17 that the ends or edges directed towards each other of the panels 16,17 and / or of the arms 18 and 20 or 19 and 21 come to bear against one another (Figures 1 and 3).
The two panels 16, 17 of the tablet are then located in a plane.
To support the shelf 15 from below, the lower side of the rear panel 16, articulated on the cover 13, is provided with a transverse groove 27 parallel to the axis of oscillation 26 of the panel 16, a groove which is arranged and shaped so that when the shelf 15 is unfolded, the panel 16 can be placed in complementary shapes, by this groove, over the grip part 21 of the handle 12 protruding from the dashboard 10 (Figure 3 ). This gives a very stable support for the tablet 15, also allowing the support of the passenger's arms on it, for example to write.
The support by the grip part 121 of the handle 12 also fixes the height of the tablet 15, which can be adapted, by an adequate conformation of the handle 12, so that the passenger can take an ergonomically favorable sitting position for writing. By making the transverse groove 27-within the limits of the panel 16 of the tablet more towards the tilting axis 14 of the cover 13 or more towards the folding axis defined by the joints 22, 23 between the panels 16 and 17, the distance between the unfolded shelf 15 and the passenger can be varied within certain limits and it is also possible to confer a certain inclination above the shelf, so that the location of the transverse groove 27 in the rear panel 16 is also determined by ergonomic aspects.
