<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>
<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>
<EMI ID=6.1>
<EMI ID=7.1>
<EMI ID=8.1>
<EMI ID=9.1>

<EMI ID=11.1>
<EMI ID=12.1>
<EMI ID=13.1>
réflexion à d = 3.85  0.05 A (I2) (intensité invariable).

PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF POROUS SYNTHETIC CRYSTALLINE MATERIALS CONSISTING OF SILICON OXIDES AND
TITANIUM
The present invention relates to a method
for the preparation of porous crystalline synthetic materials made of oxides of silicon and titanium
and corresponding to the formula
<EMI ID = 1.1>
where x is between 0.0005 and 0.04,
from reactants consisting of a source of silicon and titanium oxides, water and tetraalkylammonium hydroxide and, optionally, trialkylalkanoammonium chosen from the group consisting of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide and hydroxide methyltributylammonium taken separately, or the group consisting of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide, tetraethylammonium hydroxide, tetrapropylammonium hydroxide, methyltributylammonium hydroxide, tetramethylammonium hydroxide and trimethylethanolammonium hydroxide in binary or ternary mixture between them.
The present invention therefore relates to a process for preparing porous crystalline synthetic materials consisting of oxides of silicon and titanium. Belgian patent n [deg.] 886.812 has already described a porous and crystalline silica having a structure of the silicate type.
<EMI ID = 2.1> and which meets the formula
<EMI ID = 3.1>
where x is between 0.0005 and 0.04.
The preparation of the materials which are the subject of the present application consists of reagents consisting of a source of oxides of silicon and titanium and of an organic nitrogenous base and of water, with the following molar ratios:
<EMI ID = 4.1>
<EMI ID = 5.1>
mixing the reagents with water is then subjected to
hydrothermal treatment in an autoclave, at a temperature between 130 and 200 [deg.] C, under the resulting pressure of the autoclave and for a period of
6 to 30 days; the crystals obtained are then separated from the mother solution, are washed with water and dried, and then heated for 1 to 72 hours in air at
550 [deg.] C.
The organic nitrogen base is a hydroxide
tetra-alkylammonium: tetrapropylammonium hydroxide is the one which is preferred and which is used
in the examples described below. It has now been surprisingly found that if other tetraalkylammonium hydroxides are used and possibly
of trialkylalkanolammonium, it is possible to obtain other porous crystalline materials (zeolites) which still correspond to the general formula mentioned above but which have different characteristics when
we examine them with X-rays and infrared rays
(IR), said materials having catalytic properties similar to those of the materials which are the subject of the aforementioned patent.
The main object of the present invention is a process for the preparation of porous crystalline synthetic materials consisting of oxides of silicon and titanium and corresponding to the formula
<EMI ID = 6.1>
where x is between 0.0005 and 0.04
starting from reagents consisting of a source of silicon and titanium oxides and of a nitrogenous organic base chosen from the group consisting of tetra-alkylammonium and / or trialkylalkanolammonium and water hydroxides, with the following molar ratios :
<EMI ID = 7.1>
<EMI ID = 8.1>
optionally, trialkylalkanolammonium, the mixture
reactants with water being subjected to a hydrothermal treatment in an autoclave at a temperature between 90 and 200 [deg.] C, at the resulting pressure of the autoclave and for a period of 10 hours to 30 days, while the crystals thus obtained are then separated from the mother solution, are washed with water and dried, and are finally heated for 1 to 72 hours in air at a temperature between 450 and 700 [deg.] C.
The essential characteristic of said process consists in using hydroxides of tetraalkylammonium and, optionally, of trialkylalkanolammonium chosen from the group consisting of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide and methyltributylammonium hydroxide taken separately, or else from the group consisting of tetrabutylammonium hydroxide, tetraethylammonium hydroxide, tetrapropylammonium hydroxide, methyltributylammonium hydroxide,
tetramethylammonium hydroxide and trimethylammonium hydroxide in binary or ternary mixtures with one another. The source of silicon oxide can be a tetraalkyl orthosilicate and, preferably, a tetraethyl orthosilicate, or also simply silica in colloidal form.
The source of titanium oxide can be a hydrolyzable titanium compound chosen, preferably,
<EMI ID = 9.1>
The present invention also relates to the materials obtained by said process. The synthetic materials obtained thanks to the present invention have a crystal structure on X-ray examination.
This examination is carried out with a powder diffractometer fitted with an electronic counting system
<EMI ID = 10.1>
calculating the intensity values, the heights of the peaks are measured by noting them as a percentage relative to the height of the most intense peak. Depending on the tetraalkylammonium hydroxides used, the formation of materials always corresponding to the above-mentioned general formula is obtained, but having different X-ray and IR-ray diffraction spectra.
In the case where only tetrabutylammonium hydroxide is used, the synthetic material thus obtained, which always has the above general formula, is characterized in that its X-ray diffraction spectrum corresponds
to that shown in Figure 1 (the relative intensities of the most intense lines are indicated
in Table I) and its IR spectrum corresponds to that shown in Figure 2.
More particularly, the X-ray diffraction spectrum of said material, which is called TS-2, presents the typical reflections of the structure.
silicalite-2.
If mixtures of the abovementioned ammoniacal bases are used, or only hydroxide
of methyltributylammonium, we get products
which still have the above general formula but which have X-ray diffraction spectra
which, although they can be attributed to that of
the TS-1 with regard to the values of the interplanar distance d, present significant variations in the intensity ratios of a certain number of reflections with regard to the others which retain their characteristic intensity.
This product group will be called TS-3. The main reflections related to the above phenomenon are characterized by the following values of d:
<EMI ID = 11.1>
In a simple titanosilicate material, the decrease in intensity is similar in percentage for all the above-mentioned reflections, while the absolute value of the phenomenon varies from one product to another. To give a quantitative idea of the phenomenon, we chose
<EMI ID = 12.1>
<EMI ID = 13.1>
reflection at d = 3.85  0.05 A (I2) (invariable intensity).
<EMI ID = 14.1>
less than 0.1 and tends to 0.
In the case where mixtures of tetraalkylammonium and tetrapropylammonium hydroxides are used as tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, the synthetic material obtained, although always having
the aforementioned general formula, is characterized by the fact that it has an X-ray diffraction spectrum corresponding to that shown in FIG. 3 and
an IR spectrum corresponding to that shown in FIG. 4. In the material thus obtained, the ratio
11/12 has a value between 0.37 and 0.10 and preferably between 0.36 and 0.30.
In the case where mixtures of tetraethylammonium and tetrabutylammonium hydroxides are used as tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, the synthetic material obtained, although always having the general formula above, is characterized in that it has a spectrum of X-ray diffraction corresponding to that represented in FIG. 5 and an IR spectrum corresponding to that represented in FIG. 6. The ratio 11/12 is between 0.37 and 0.10 and, preferably, between 0.30 and 0.20.
In the case where methyltributylammonium hydroxide is used as tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, the synthetic material thus obtained, although always having the general formula above, is
<EMI ID = 15.1>
X-ray diffraction corresponding to that shown in Figure 7 and an IR spectrum corresponding to that shown in Figure 8.
The 11/12 ratio is between 0.37 and
0.10 and preferably between 0.30 and 0.20.
In the case where mixtures of tetrapropylammonium and tetrabutylammonium hydroxides are used as tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, the synthetic material thus obtained, although always having the above general formula, is characterized by the fact that it has a spectrum ray diffraction
X corresponding to that represented in FIG. 9 and
an IR spectrum corresponding to that shown in FIG. 10.
The 11/12 ratio is between 0.37 and 0.10 and preferably between 0.35 and 0.25.
In the case where mixtures of methyltributylammonium and tetramethylammonium hydroxides are used as tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, the synthetic material thus obtained, although always having the above general formula, is characterized by the fact that it has a spectrum diffraction
X-rays corresponding to that shown in the figure
11 and an IR spectrum corresponding to that shown
in Figure 12.
The ratio I1 / I2 is between 0.37 and 0.10 and preferably between 0.30 and 0.20.
In the case where mixtures of tetrabutylammonium and trimethylethanolammonium hydroxides are used as tetraalkylammonium hydroxides, the synthetic material obtained, although still having
the aforementioned general formula, is characterized by the
