Abstract
Apparatus for measuring condition data for a rolling wheel set (14) of a railway rolling stock comprises at least one, preferably at least 2, contactless distance sensor (3) for determining the wheel flange height (Sn) vertical to the under the passing wheel flange (5) next to the rail (4). The obtained distance value (Sx) is supplied to an analysing device (4) which determines the wear (Sa) of the wheel running surfaces (5) of the average wheel diameter (DL).
