Abstract
The shearing force stirrup (43b) transmits shearing force to the concrete. The stirrup is a loop component, the sections of which fixed to the shearing force bar are connected by an arc section. The loop component under the forces occurring during load is so flexible that it accommodates only tractive forces. It has a symmetrical arc section e.g. a somewhat circular, elliptical or parabolic arc section.
