  Sensenkorb.

  Scythe basket.

The well-known scythe baskets, which consist of a rigid frame with fabric covering, are attached at right angles to the scythe blade at the front end of the scythe tree and aim to create an air cushion during the cutting movement, which should keep the cut stalks in their upright position without vibration, so that they eventually fall to the ground in clumps. In the position of use, these scythe baskets either come to lie in the vertical plane laid by the tree or they have a bulge on the side opposite the leaf in order to better capture the air.

Such an arrangement of the basket cannot fully correspond, since the stalks, as a result of the movement of the scythe in a curved path following the centrifugal force, tend to slide outwards in the direction of the tree and to separate from each other, which is more or less caused by the conical air cushion is also reinforced.

The invention aims to eliminate this disadvantage and essentially consists in the fact that the basket extends beyond the end of the scythe tree and above the scythe blade overlaps part of the same like a shovel, so that the cut grain does not slide off in the direction of the tree.

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in FIGS. 1 and 2 in two views.
