  Verfahren zur Darstellung von Salzen der Formaldehydsulfoxylsäure. 



   In dem Patente Nr. 25222 ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung von Salzen der Formaldehydsulfoxylsäure beansprucht, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man das   Kinwirkungsprodukt   von Formaldehyd auf Hydrosulfite oder die Formaldehydbisulfitverbindungen solange mit einem Reduktionsmittel behandelt, bis eine Zunahme an Reduktionskraft nicht mehr wahrnehmbar ist. 



   Es wurde nun gefunden, dass die Überführung von Alkaliformaldehydbisulfiten und

 als Reduktionsmittel besonders vorteilhaft verläuft, wenn man in Gegenwart von Zinkoxyd, Zinkhydroxyd oder Zinkkarbonat arbeitet. 



   Bei s pie 1 : In eine wässerige Lösung von 152 kg   Natriumformaldehydblsulfit

 120 kg Zinkstaub von   900/0 Zn-Gehalt   und 50 kg Zinkoxyd mit Wasser eingeteigt eingerührt. Man erhitzt 2 Stunden lang unter gutem Rühren auf 100 bis   1000, filtriert dann   und dampft das Filtrat direkt im Vakuum ein. Sollten etwa geringe Mengen von schwerlöslichem   Zinkformaldehydsulfoxylat   entstanden sein, so gibt man zuerst so viel Soda oder Natronlauge zu, bis die Lösung alkalisch reagiert, filtriert dann und dampft ein. Es wurden zo z. B. 98% der Theorie an Natriumformaldehydsulfoxylat erhalten. 



   Man hat schon   Alkaliformaldehydhisuiite   in Gegenwart von Zinksalzen, wie Zinksulfit, Chlorzink, Zinksulfat usw, mit Zinkstaub reduziert. wobei eine Umsetzung des Alkaliformaldehydbisulfits mit den genannten Zinksalzen zu Formaldehydzinkbisulfit erfolgt und hieraus bei der Reduktion das   schwerlösliche   Zinksalz der Formaldehydsulfoxylsäure entsteht. Letzteres Salz entsteht auch bei der Umsetzung von Formaldehydhisulfit mit Zinkstaub in Gegenwart von Zinkhydroxyd und   einem   hasischen Zinksalz. Eine solche Umsetzung findet bei dem vorliegenden Verfahren nicht oder gegebenenfalls nur als geringfügige Nebenreaktion statt und das Endprodukt ist Alkaliformaldehydsulfoxylat.
