EMI1.1

EMI1.1
The subject of the invention is a two-stroke explosion engine in which a hollow piston is divided by a transverse wall with an automatic overflow valve ni two spaces, one of which serves as an explosion space, the other as a charge pump. The machine is illustrated in the drawing in FIGS. 1 and 2 in two axial sections perpendicular to one another through the cylinder.
In the cylinder 11, which is provided with ribs for air cooling according to the drawing, but can also be set up for water cooling. Cylindrical inserts b and b1 are fastened at both ends in such a way that annular cavities e and el open towards the interior of the cylinder are formed between these and the cylinder. The inserts are equipped with sealing rings d at their inner ends. At the dar-

orderly, whereas in the lower insert 19 adjoining the crankcase there is an automatic valve f which opens towards the inside of the cylinder. 1111 cylinder moves a hollow piston y, which always protrudes into both cavities, in which it is guided and sealed by the mentioned sealing rings.
Around the

wall, the exhaust openings n are arranged in such a way that in the lowermost position of the piston its upper space 2 is in connection with the exhaust. In the lower end of the piston, a bolt o is mounted in sprues running diametrically, onto which the push rod p for the crank pin of the shaft r is pushed. I) the housing i, in which the crank moves, is also used to accommodate the explosive mixture that is released by the
EMI1.4
the wood can move o and ah.
The machine works as follows:
In the drawing, the lowest position of the piston is shown - when the piston moves upwards, as a result of the pressure reduction in space 1, the automatic valve f opens, through which the explosive mixture is sucked from the crankcase t into this space 1. When the piston is in operation, this mixture is compressed in space 1, the valve 1 closes, the valve expands and allows the mixture to flow into the upper space of the piston.
When the piston moves up again, the explosive mixture is sucked into space 1 again through valve f, while at the same time the mixture is compressed in space 2, whereupon it is ignited by the spark plug at the moment when the piston reaches its highest point and explodes. The normal operation of the machine now begins.
As a result of the explosion, the piston is driven downwards, whereby the mixture contained in space 1 is compressed. At the end of the downward movement of the piston, the exhaust ports n open and the pressure in space 2 drops bs-

interpreting; At this moment, the compressed mixture in room 1 opens valve h, which was previously kept closed by the pressure of the explosion gases, and drives the remaining combustion gases under pressure to the exhaust openings, whereupon these openings close again when the piston moves upwards. The compression of the mixture then begins in the upper space 2 of the piston, while 1 new mixture is sucked into the lower space. This process is then repeated.
