Es sind Pfeifenköpfe bekannt, bei welchen ein dauernd trockenes Rauchen dadurch erreicht wird, dass im Pfeifenkopf in einer gewissen Höhe ein mit Durchlassöftoungen versehener Boden fest angebracht wird, unter welchem eine zur Aufnahme der Achse des verbrannten Tabaks und der sich bildenden Tabaksäfte dienende Kammer entsteht, welche nach Losschrauben des unteren, mit dem Luftkanale versehenen Pfeifenknopfteils entleert, bezw. geputzt werden kann. Derartige Sammelkammern für die Tabakasche und den Tabaksaft sind bislang bei aus einem Stücke bestehenden Pfeifenköpfen unbekannt, weil bei Anbringung eines festen Bodens in einem solchen Kopfe die Sammelkammer und der Luftkanal nicht geputzt werden können.
Die den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildende Neuerung hat den Zweck, auch bei aus einem Stücke bestehenden Pfeifenköpfen die Anwendung von Sammelkammer durch Pntzbarmachen der derselben zu ermöglichen. Dies wird dadurch erzielt, dass der mit den Durchgangsöffnungen versehene Boden im Pfeifenkopfe kippbar angebracht is, so dass er in eine aufrechte Stellung gedreht werden kann, bei welcher die Sammelkammer von oben her zugänglich ist.
In der Zeichnung zeigt Fig. 1 einen Pfeifenkopf mit einem solchen Trockenraucheinsatz Fig. 2 ein Schaubild der letzteren, welcher nur als für Meerschaum, Ton-und Gypspfeifen geeignetes Ausführungsbeispiel des Erfindungsgegenstandes anzusehen ist.
Der dargestellte Einsatz besteht aus einem Metallringe a und aus einer in diesem um die Zapfen b kippbaren Scheibe c, welche mit einer zentralen Öffnung d versehen ist.
Der obere Rand des Ringes a ist mit nach aussen gebogenen Zähnen e besetzt, welche beim Einsetzen des Ringes a in den Pfeifenkopf P in diesen greifen und eine Ver- änderung der gegenseitigen Lage der beiden verhindern. Der Ring a wird in den Kopf P so eingesetzt, dass die Drebzapfen b der Scheibe c senkrecht zu dem Luftkanal L des
Pfeifenkopfes stehen. Die Tabakasche und die sich bildenden Tabaksäfte gelangen durch die Öffnung d der Scheibe c in die unterhalb derselben entstehende Kammer Zum Putzen der Kammer K und des Luftkanals L wird die Scheibe c in eine aufrechte Lage - gedreht (siehe Fig. 1), bei welcher die Kammer K von oben her zugänglich ist. Bei Pfeifenköpfen, mit Metallfutter kann der Ring a entfallen und die Scheibe c unmittelbar im Metallfutter kippbar gelagert sein.
Es steht natürlich auch nichts im Wege dem kipp- baren Boden auch andere Formen zu geben, z. B. denselben oblong, eckig, sternförmig o. dgl. zu machen, mit einem Worte, sowohl die Form des kippbaren Bodens als auch die Art seiner Lagerung können unter Beibehaltung des Erfindungsgedankens verschiedentlich ab- geändert werden.
Es sei noch erwähnt, dass der Trockenraucheinsatz, wenn auch in erster Linie für einteilige Köpfe bestimmt, doch auch bei mehrteiligen Köpfen Anwendung finden kann.

The innovation forming the subject of the present invention has the purpose of enabling the use of collecting chambers by making them accessible even with pipe heads consisting of one piece. This is achieved in that the base provided with the passage openings is tiltably mounted in the pipe bowl so that it can be rotated into an upright position in which the collecting chamber is accessible from above.
In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a pipe bowl with such a dry smoke insert. FIG. 2 shows a diagram of the latter, which is only to be regarded as an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention suitable for meerschaum, clay and gypsum pipes.
The insert shown consists of a metal ring a and a disc c, which can be tilted about the pin b and is provided with a central opening d.
The upper edge of the ring a is covered with outwardly curved teeth e which, when the ring a is inserted into the pipe bowl P, engage in the latter and prevent the mutual position of the two from changing. The ring a is inserted into the head P so that the pivot b of the disc c is perpendicular to the air duct L of the
