<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The invention relates to a care trolley for hospitals, nursing homes and the like institutions with an open or closed front and rear sides and two side walls existing cabinet body, a shelf covering the cabinet body upwards and with rollers mounted in roller blocks
In the clinic and nursing area, visit trolleys and simple transport trolleys for nursing services are known. Visit trolleys accompany the doctor on his daily visits to the clinic or hospital. They are pure office trolleys, in which medical records, medical records, files or the like of individual patients are kept. Transport trolleys for the nursing area are designed according to the respective tasks and concerns.
All trolleys have a mobile pedestal and are closed at the top by a work surface at a working height that suits the body.
In order to facilitate the driving and maneuvering of these two types of care trolley, a bow handle can be mounted on at least one side wall of the trolley. B known from DE 78 34 222 U and DE 87 16 473 U. However, the bow handles require additional space, which e.g.
is missing if the care trolleys are to be parked as space-saving as possible when not in use. A disadvantage of the known care trolleys is that, depending on the driving or maneuvering situation, the bow handle is not always immediately accessible. To remedy this, bow handles should actually be on all four sides of the Care trolley are attached, which in turn leads to an increase in the footprint and also has disadvantages for the design freedom in the arrangement of the individual drawers, cabinet openings, etc.
The well-known care trolleys are also not convincing in terms of driving stability. The roller blocks with the rollers are located below the body, which means that in the event of a collision they are arranged in a relatively protected manner, but there is a relatively small contact area so that the care trolley can tilt and tilt unintentionally.
From US 3 902 603 A a different type of mobile transport frame is also known, which has a lower, U-shaped frame provided with rollers, on which two parallel, upright posts are arranged, which are spaced apart in the vertical direction, horizontal guide frames for receiving Carrying crates or the like The transport frame has a locking device for the crates, which is designed as a rod articulated on a post, which is guided in a backdrop-like opening in a crossbar connecting the two posts at their upper end, a cabinet body being included however not available
GB 1 399 323 A shows a castor-provided frame for pieces of furniture, in particular serving trolleys, which consists of curved round bars,
which are somewhat protruding in the area of the corners with the rollers so that the pivot pins of the rollers come to lie in the axial extension of the vertical frame parts. The rollers are fastened to the frame with the aid of connecting elements made of plastic, with relief-like recesses in the collapsible connecting elements in accordance with the shape of the hinge pins and the sections of the frame adjacent to them, the rollers are fixed both in the vertical and in the horizontal direction
US Pat. No. 4,456,273 A shows a transport trolley with a fold-up base plate and two laterally pivotable side walls, which allows several such transport trolleys to be pushed into one another. The transport trolley has an essentially M-shaped base frame provided with rollers,
the outer legs of which can be pivoted inwards and have openings on their upper side into which pins which have a corresponding design on the side walls can be inserted
The US 4 616 756 A is concerned with an easy-to-assemble trolley for receiving fanfold folded printing paper, which consists of a frame which is composed of a lower shell, side walls and an upper shell detachably hooked onto the inner surfaces of the side walls. The side walls are over Removable castors attached to the lower shell and secured against lateral bending by means of a diagonal connection
A roller block is known from US Pat. No. 4,034,436 A which has an eccentrically arranged pivot pin which can be inserted into a bore for fastening to a chair leg or the like.
The roller block has a running member inclined by approximately 25 to the vertical, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
is rotatably attached to the portion of the roller block having the hinge pin
Finally, EP 38 872 A2 describes a cleaning trolley which is composed of a frame provided with wheels and a support frame, at the upper end of which a holding frame for fastening a waste bag is arranged.
The invention has for its object to provide a care trolley of the type mentioned (according to DE 78 34 222 U) that is easy to assemble and has good driving and maneuvering properties
To solve this problem, it is proposed in a care trolley of the type mentioned at the outset that an elongated profile is arranged on the outside of the side walls along each of the four vertical edges of the cabinet body, which is designed as a hollow profile and has at least one cavity extending over the entire length of the profile, the cross-sectional area of the hollow profile being predominantly circular and the center axis of the circle coinciding with the longitudinal axis of the cavity,
and that a pin formed on the roller block is inserted into the downwardly open end of the cavity
Such a care trolley can be assembled from a few parts and is particularly simple. The simple assembly also contributes to the fact that the profiles arranged along the four vertical edges receive the pins of the roller blocks in a manner known per se.
Due to the arrangement of the profiles outside the cabinet body, there is an enlarged contact area, which contributes to improved driving stability of the nursing trolley Return the center of gravity of the profiles, whereby the force that is exerted on the profiles during maneuvering is converted into a rotational or translational movement of the roller blocks without generating disruptive tilting moments. Finally, the predominantly circular cross-sectional area of the profiles ensures that these with regard to an ergonomic driving or
Have the maneuvering aid easily gripped by hand
The profiles arranged on the outside of the side walls simultaneously perform several functions: the profiles support and support the cabinet body, and they give it additional stability; the profiles take up the pins of the roller blocks, the profiles can be easily gripped by hand and therefore serve as a driving or maneuvering aid; and due to their arrangement outside the cabinet body, the profiles help to increase the footprint of the care trolley, and thus improve its driving stability
The pin inserted into the hollow profile can also form the vertical axis of rotation of the roller block in order to achieve good maneuvering properties.
To reinforce the profile, a plurality of hollow chambers can extend between the cavity and the circular lateral surface of the profile, which can also be separated from one another by radial webs. This results in an enlargement of the cross-sectional area of the profile, so that, in addition to increasing the stability, it is also more tangible.
According to a first embodiment, with a view to a particularly simple assembly, the profile can be provided with a recess that is open to the side over its entire length, the recess receiving a connecting bar that is screwed to the side wall of the cabinet body
According to a second embodiment, a connecting bar can be integrally formed on the profile, which is screwed to the side wall of the cabinet body.
With regard to both of the aforementioned configurations, it is proposed that the connecting strip be an elongated hollow profile. By using this hollow profile, the distance between the cabinet body and the profile can be increased, as a result of which the latter can be gripped particularly well by hand
If the profile and the connecting bar are separate components, the profile of the recess can be screwed to the connecting bar according to a preferred embodiment
It is also advantageous here if the surfaces of the profile that delimit the recess surround the connecting bar flush on at least three sides. This will be a
Form-fit between the profile and the connecting bar has been achieved with the result of great transverse rigidity. Furthermore, the assembly of the care cart is simplified overall.
The stability of the care trolley can also be improved if the connecting bar
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
is provided with a web that covers the end face of the side wall. In this way, the cabinet body is gripped and supported on two sides in the region of the vertical edges
Furthermore, it is proposed with a preferred embodiment that hinges of a cabinet door are attached to the connecting bar. In this way, the hinges are particularly well anchored in the material of the connecting strip, which preferably consists of an aluminum profile.
This anchoring is better than anchoring the hinge in the side wall made of plywood or a plastic plate
In order for the connecting bar to rest as stable as possible on the profile, it is advantageous if the recess partially has the shape of a circular segment, on which the connecting bar rests with a surface that is also curved in the form of a circular segment
In order to cover the end faces of the side wall and the rear wall, which means that reworking at these points can be omitted and thus costs can be saved, it is advantageous if the edge of a rear wall is located between the web of the connecting strip and the end face of the side wall
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.
1a in a perspective overall view of a nursing trolley, Fig. 1b an enlarged roller block in the installation direction to the nursing trolley according to Fig. 1a, Fig. 2 a partial section in the corner area through the nursing trolley in the plane 11-11 of Fig. 1a, Fig. 3 a partial section in the plane 111-111 according to FIG. 1a, FIG. 4 a partial section in the plane IV-IV according to FIG. 1a extending from the front to the back of the nursing carriage; and FIG. 5 shows a section through a combination profile for use in the care trolley according to FIG. 1a.
The care trolley consists of a body 1 with a front 2, rear and two side walls 3. The individual walls can consist of coated chipboard, and laminate panels or other plastic panels can also be used. The cabinet body 1 is covered at the top by a shelf 4 can consist of a deep-drawn plastic shell.
The cabinet body 1 is primarily cuboid, 5 profiles 6 extending along all vertical edges, which are provided at their lower ends with roller blocks 7 with rollers 8 then inserted. The profiles 6 are hollow profiles made of continuous cast aluminum , which are connected to the side walls 3 in the manner explained in more detail below. The profiles 6 have an essentially circular cross section and are located outside the cabinet body 1, as a result of which the care trolley for moving or maneuvering can be gripped on two of the profiles 6 in each case.
In addition, it is possible to grip the care trolley also at the edge 9 of the shelf 4, for which purpose this edge 9 is designed in the form of a bead
The sectional representations according to FIGS. 2 to 5 show that the drawn profiles 6 have a predominantly circular cross-sectional area, a cavity 10 in the form of an elongated channel being located centrally within the circular area defined in this way.
The cavity 10 is preferably of circular cross section and at least open towards the bottom, so that the roller block 7 can be inserted into this open end from below. For this purpose, the roller block 7 is provided with a pin 11, as can be seen in FIG. that fits exactly into the bore 12 of the cavity 10. It can be secured there by means of a screw which, analogous to the screw 20 shown in FIG. 3, engages in the material of the pin 11
Since pins 11 and cavity 10 or bore 12 have only a small diameter of approximately 2 cm, but for better gripping of profile 6, the profile 6 must have a larger diameter, further hollow chambers 13 are grouped around central cavity 10 of the extruded profile.
These are separated from one another by radial webs 14. The advantage of this structure of the profile 6, in addition to the volume increase, is the considerable rigidity.
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, the profile 6 is provided with a recess 15 which is open to the side, this recess 15 being directed in the direction of the side wall 3. A connecting strip screwed to the side wall 3 fits exactly into the recess 15 16 into the connecting strip 16 is also a hollow profile of essentially rectangular cross-section, which can consist of continuous cast aluminum or steel. The connecting strip 16 is introduced later
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Provide holes 17 through which screws 18 can be passed for connection to the side wall 3 (FIG. 2).
FIGS. 2 and 3 show that the connecting bar 16 extends along the vertical edge 5 of the cabinet body 1, the front end face of the connecting bar 16 being flush with the end face 19 of the side wall 3
The connection between the connecting bar 16 and the profile 6 can, for. B in a form-fitting manner via a dovetail guide. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, on the other hand, this connection is made via a further set of screws 20 which extend from the hollow chamber of the connecting strip 16 into the hollow chamber 13 of the profile 6.
The head 21 of the screws 20 can be reached via bores 22 which are located in the side wall 3 of the cabinet body 1 in the extension of the screws 20. It is understood that the screws 20 shown in FIG. 3, which are the connection between the profile 6 and the connecting strip 16 serve, are arranged at a different height than the screws 18 shown in FIG. 2, which serve the connection between the side wall 3 and the connecting bar 16. The screws 18 and 20 can, for example, be arranged alternately one above the other. The surfaces of the profile 6, on the one hand, and the connecting bar 16, on the other hand, which are directed in the direction of the screw 20, are exactly matched to one another in the form of circular sections, as can be seen in particular from FIGS. 3 and 4.
As a result, a very good positive fit of the connecting strip 16 within the recess 15 of the profile 6 is achieved together with the lateral surfaces of the recess, and the assembly is also improved.
A different design form of the connecting bar 16 compared to FIGS. 2 and 3 is shown in FIG. 4. The connecting bar 16 is wider in this case, so that there is a distance A between the profile 6 and the side wall 3a. This design of the connecting bar 16 with the profile unchanged 6 is used when the side wall 3a is relatively thin, for example because it consists of a relatively thin-walled plastic plate, for example a HPL laminate. In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, it is further provided that the connecting bar 16 in the side facing away from the profile 6 Formed in the direction of a web 23 The web 23 covers the end face 19 of the side wall 3a and also reinforces it.
In Figure 4 it is also shown that in addition to the side wall 3a, the rear wall 27 is thin-walled, and preferably also consists of a HPL laminate panel the rear end face of the side wall 3a and the web 23 of the rear connecting bar 16 is located. The rear connecting bar 16 is designed symmetrically to the front connecting bar 16.
The advantage of this arrangement is that the end faces of side wall 3a and rear wall 27 are not visible. They therefore do not have to be reworked, so that inexpensive production is possible if the side wall 3a and the rear wall 27 are made of a material such as HPL (high-pressure Glue plate), and furthermore profile 6 and connecting strip 16 consist of aluminum, the care trolley can also be sterilized, e.g. B for use in the operating theater.
In all exemplary embodiments, the front side 2 of the cabinet body 1 is covered by a pivotable door 24. In the exemplary embodiments FIGS. 2 and 3, the hinge 25 for the door 24 is fastened to the end face 19 of the side wall 3, while in the exemplary embodiments FIGS. 4 and FIG 5, the hinge 25 is attached to the forward surface 26 of the connecting bar 16.
