Abstract
Description
Nr. 391 032No. 391 032
The invention relates to a method for measuring the dielectric loss factor tan δ of continuously heated insulating materials by applying an alternating voltage to a capacitor, the dielectric of which forms the continuously heated insulating material, and a device for carrying out the method.
A capacitor is formed with the insulating material used for the measurement by applying two opposite, electrically conductive capacitor surfaces to the insulating material forming the dielectric. In the case of lacquered metallic wires, the surface of the metallic wire forms the one capacitor surface, the solid insulating lacquer forms the dielectric and an electrically conductive layer applied to the surface of the solid insulating lacquer enveloping the metallic wire forms the second capacitor surface.
The dielectric loss factor depends on the temperature of the insulating material in question. The temperature behavior of an insulating material is shown in the form of a curve in which the dielectric loss factor appears on the ordinate and the associated temperature on the abscissa.
The evaluation method of the intersection of two tangents, which are applied to the descending and the ascending branch of the relevant temperature-dielectric loss factor curve, is used to classify the temperature behavior of an insulating material. From this point of intersection, the perpendicular is drawn to the abscissa and the temperature found in degrees Celsius is given as the temperature break point of the insulating material in question. If the temperature specified in the temperature break point is exceeded, the electrical insulation capacity of the relevant insulating material deteriorates rapidly.
To measure the dielectric loss factor according to DIN 53 483 Supplement 1, bridge circuits, resonant circuit circuits, resonance circuits and measuring lines are known. The disadvantages of these known methods and devices lie in the time-consuming manual tuning and in the dependence of the accuracy of the measurement results on the operator performing the tuning. For heating the insulating materials provided for the temperature-dependent measurement of the dielectric loss factor, which always form the dielectric of a capacitor, warm-air ovens, metallic temperature control plates and temperature control baths made of metal melts are known. The disadvantages of these devices are their slow heat transfer or the cumbersome handling.
From DD-PS 61 312 a circuit arrangement for measuring time intervals or phase angles with a pulse gate arranged between a counting pulse generator and a pulse counter is known, which is controlled by the measuring process initiating and concluding switching pulses.
The object of the invention is to provide a method which enables a rapid and accurate measurement of the dielectric loss factor while avoiding the disadvantages of the known methods. This object is achieved according to the invention in a method of the type mentioned at the outset in that the magnitude of the phase shift between the AC voltage applied to the capacitor and the associated phase-shifted AC current is measured in a manner known per se by counting pulses in a pulse counter which is between zero crossing of a voltage half-wave and zero crossing of the associated phase-shifted current half-wave occur that the number of pulses counted in the pulse counter is fed to a preprogrammed arithmetic unit, in which the dielectric loss factor tan δ is calculated from the number of pulses, the calculated value is checked for plausibility and the plausible values are temporarily stored, so that the arithmetic unit receives a temperature measurement of the test object, which is continuously heated, and that the temperature - dielectric loss factor - K. via a printer connected to the preprogrammed arithmetic unit urve is expressed in relation to the measuring point.
B. 50 V and 1 kHz, which is applied to the two capacitor plates of the test object, a certain number of electrical pulses, z. B. 6284 pulses. Since the phase between current and voltage is shifted by 90 degrees in the case of a loss-free capacitor when an alternating current is present, this corresponds to 1571 counting pulses if the entire period of the alternating current applied to the capacitor corresponds to 6284 counting pulses. If, for example, 1559 pulses are counted between the zero crossing of the voltage and the zero crossing of the current when an alternating current is applied to a lossy capacitor, the dielectric of which consists of the insulating material provided for measuring the dielectric loss factor, the dielectric loss factor in question is tan according to the inventive method δ = 12 x 10 '^ (1571 pulses minus 1559 pulses = 12 pulses) if the full period of the alternating current applied to this capacitor corresponds to 6284 pulses
In the practical implementation of the method according to the invention, it is advantageous if a certain number, eg. B. 200, an average value is calculated from plausible values and is displayed in a display device based on measuring points. Since no measurement amplification is required to count the counting pulses between the zero crossings of the voltage and the current, the method according to the invention results in very fast and physically exact measured values. As a result of the elimination of implausible individual measurements, which result from line electrons possibly appearing like avalanches in the dielectric, it is possible for the first time to rapidly obtain an average value of the associated dielectric loss factor within very small temperature intervals in the order of magnitude of one hundredth of a degree Celsius, with the temperature of the test object increasing, to measure trouble-free and accurately.
Auf Grund der dichten Folge der einzelnen Meßpunkte in dieser Kurve wurde erstmals entdeckt, daß im -2-Due to the dense sequence of the individual measuring points in this curve, it was discovered for the first time that in the -2-

Temperature break point of an insulating material a clear downward peak occurs in the temperature dielectric loss factor curve. In a further embodiment of the method according to the invention, it is therefore advantageous if the temperature display of the test object is cached in the preprogrammed arithmetic unit when a downward peak occurs in the temperature-dielectric loss factor curve and is used both in a display device as a temperature break point for display and also via a printer as a measurement point Is expressed. This downward peak in the curve lies within a temperature interval of 1 degree Celsius.
In a device for carrying out the method according to the invention, it is expedient for the rapid and continuous heating of the insulating materials forming the dielectric of the electrical capacitor if the test objects provided for the continuous heating and for measuring the temperature-dependent dielectric loss factor tan δ on the outside of a cylindrical metallic tube have good heat conductivity are attached, this cylindrical metallic tube, which is good heat-conducting, is interchangeably attached to an inner cylindrical tube electrically and capacitively insulated from the electrical mass, the inside of this inner cylindrical tube is provided with an infrared radiation-absorbing layer and for heating this inner cylindrical metallic tube in it Center of an infrared radiation emitting radiation source is arranged.
Die Erfindung und weitere Merkmale derselben werden im folgenden an Hand der Zeichnung erläutert, die eine bevorzugte Form einer Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens zeigtThe invention and further features thereof are explained below with reference to the drawing, which shows a preferred form of a device for performing the method according to the invention
So besteht z. An electrically operated infrared radiation source (2) is arranged in the center of a metallic cylindrical tube (1). The distance of the infrared radiation source (2) from the inner wall of the inner cylindrical tube (1) is chosen so that the cylindrical tube (1) is largely electrically and capacitively isolated from the electrically operated infrared radiation source (2). An infrared radiation absorbing layer (3) is provided on the inside of the cylindrical tube (1). A temperature sensor (4), which is largely electrically and capacitively insulated from it, is arranged on the outside of the cylindrical tube (1). The temperature sensor (4) is connected to a temperature display (5). A metallic cylindrical tube (6) is interchangeably attached to the inner cylindrical tube (1) in a heat-conductive manner. On the outside of the cylindrical tube (6), a plurality of receiving devices are provided for the insulating materials to be heated, which form an electrical capacitor. The recording devices are expediently adapted to the shape of the measurement object. So there is z. B. for the measurement of the temperature-dependent dielectric loss factor and for the automatic display of the temperature breakpoint of a wire insulating varnish, the receiving device from a in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical tube (6) and with this firmly and thermally connected metallic groove (7), in which one electric capacitor forming enamelled wire is inserted, the one capacitor area consisting of the metallic wire (8), the dielectric made of the hardened insulating lacquer (9) and the second capacitor area consisting of an electrically conductive layer (10) firmly attached to the surface of the insulating lacquer. The capacitor surfaces (10) are electrically conductively connected to the cylindrical tube (6) by means of an attachable metallic ring spring (11). For good heat transfer between the channel (7) and the condenser surface (10) there is a suitable heat transfer medium (12) in the form of heat-conducting paste or pressed-in layers of metal foil.
From an alternating current generator (13) the measuring current in the form of a sinusoidal alternating current of preferably 50 V and 1 kHz via a measuring point changeover switch (14) connected to the arithmetic logic unit (20) correspondingly one of the wires (8) and via a zero current switch (15) via the cylindrical tube (6) one of the associated second capacitor surfaces (10) fed. A voltage zero crossing switch (16) is connected to the connections (17) and (18). The voltage zero-crossing switch (16) and the current zero-crossing switch (15) are connected to a pulse counter (19) in such a way that the pulse counter is switched on at zero crossing of a voltage half-wave and stopped at zero crossing of the associated phase-shifted current half-wave. The pulse counter (19) is operated with a counting fire frequency of preferably 6284 kHz, so that a period of the measuring current of 50 V and 1 kHz corresponds to 6284 counting pulses. The pulse counter (19) is connected to an arithmetic unit (20). The arithmetic unit (20) is preprogrammed so that the dielectric loss factor tan δ is calculated from the count values adopted by the pulse counter (19), the calculated value is checked for plausibility and, for example, 200 plausible individual measurements are used to display the average value of the dielectric loss factor tan δ in a display device (21) is displayed, a display device being provided for each measuring point (7 to 10). Furthermore, the arithmetic unit (20) is connected to the temperature display (5). In a printer (22) which is connected to the arithmetic unit (20), the calculated average values of the dielectric loss factor with the associated temperature display are recorded in the form of a curve for each measuring point. Furthermore, the occurrence of a downward peak in the temperature-dielectric loss factor curve is registered in the arithmetic unit (20), stored for each measuring point and displayed in a display device (23) for each measuring point. In addition to the downward peak visible on the corresponding curve, the associated temperature display of the temperature break point is printed out in the printer (20).
