Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   The invention relates to a grinding body with a grinding-inactive metal, or metal-containing carrier body, on which, for example, diamond-containing grinding segments or the like are fastened, for example soldered.

   Especially with high-performance abrasive grain with very hard abrasive grain, such as diamond or CBN, the heat generated at the grinding point brings with it the most difficult problems to overcome.

   If the heat generated is not mastered in terms of process technology, this can lead to the grinding segments or the grinding ring becoming detached from the carrier body. In addition, unfavorable grinding or separating properties of the grinding wheel occur. The invention is concerned with the problem of heat dissipation from the carrier body.

   According to the invention, the heat emission by convection and radiation from the carrier body to the ambient air is improved in that the carrier body is provided with elevations or depressions in the macro region on at least one lateral surface and has a surface roughness depth of at least 10 m, preferably 12 to 14 11 m.

   The carrier bodies are not painted, but can be black anodized.

   It is advantageously provided that the carrier body consists of a mixture of aluminum and bakelite.

   The invention further relates to a method for producing an abrasive body which has an optimal surface roughness.

   This is achieved according to the invention in that the carrier body is roughened mechanically, for example by sandblasting, or chemically after the conveying has taken place.

   Two exemplary embodiments of carrier bodies according to the invention are shown below, but the invention is not intended to be limited to these.

   1 schematically shows a diagram of a cup grinding wheel according to the invention with a roughened surface and FIG. 2 shows a schematic side view of a cup grinding wheel with an enlarged surface.

   The grinding body according to the invention consists of the slip ring --1--, which contains abrasive grain in a binder in a conventional manner, and of the carrier body, which is pressed, for example, from aluminum and Balkelit.

   In the exemplary embodiments, the slip ring --1-- is formed from cubic boron nitride in a bakelite bond.

   1 has a surface roughness of 10 11 m.
 EMI1.1
 Shaped hemispherical surfaces --3--, which also significantly increases the surface of this support body --2-- and thus the heat emulsion.

   Although sandblasting is a preferred way of increasing the surface roughness, any chemical or mechanical method could be used, such as surface hitting, rubbing, etching and the like. the like
