The invention relates to a brush, consisting of a brush body in which a straight storage space, open on one side, is accommodated for a treatment agent, which is connected to the working surface of the brush body via passages, and a handle made separately from the brush body, which has a piston-like part, which is covered for pressing the treatment agent out of the storage container by a closure which does not hinder the insertion of the piston.
From US Pat. No. 2,090,144, such a brush is known, but it has the main disadvantage that the passages which connect the supply to the working surface of the brush body are always open, so that with a longer Storage of the supply can dry out or other changes in the supply can occur due to constant contact with air. In addition, the piston, which is connected to the brush handle, is cylindrical and there is no further safeguard against rotation between the handle and the brush body. B. with toothbrushes, etc. is extremely disadvantageous, since the brush body can twist against the handle during use.
These disadvantages are remedied by the invention, which essentially consists in the fact that the passages connecting the storage space with the work surfaces are closed by thin material points (membranes) of the brush body, which can burst open when the pressure in the treatment agent is generated when the piston is pushed in, and preferably the insertion opening for the piston into the storage space is closed by a closing part, such as a ball, stopper or stopper, which can be pushed in front of the piston. Preferably, the brush body and the handle provided with the piston-like part each have a part of a straight guide, e.g. B. dovetail guide, to prevent rotation between the brush body and handle.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the brush body and the handle in the inserted position in the brush body retaining latch, for. B. cooperating nose and recess are provided, and the passages in the brush body towards the work surface are designed to widen.
The invention is described in more detail with reference to the drawings, which represent an exemplary embodiment.
1 is a longitudinal section through a brush body according to the invention, FIG. 2 is a broken longitudinal section through the matching handle provided with the piston-like part, FIG. 2A is a cross section along the line II of FIG. 2, and FIG. 3 is a partial longitudinal section which shows the outlet of the supply when the piston is pushed into the brush body.
In Fig. 1 a fillable brush head --A--, in which the outlet openings are closed by membranes, is shown, so that drying out of the filling material is largely prevented. These membranes are made of the same soft plastic material or similar (for example rubber) material as the brush head itself. The brush head is preferably manufactured by injection molding. It does not matter whether bristles are used later or correspondingly shaped brush-like bodies are also produced in the same injection molding process. The membranes are produced at the same time in the injection molding process. The outlet openings are preferably widened somewhat towards the outside. The reasons for this are described in more detail later under the function.
There is a bore --2-- in the brush head, the cross-sectional shape of which is irrelevant for the function itself. Any cross-section is possible. The head is filled with the filling material - pasty, jelly-like to liquid - from the open side --3--. After filling, the closure takes place either with a piston-shaped bolt adapted to the cross-sectional shape, with a ball or simply by potting the opening with a suitable mass (wax, resins, plastics, etc.) that can flow when warm. The lower part of the brush head shows the positive or negative shape of a dovetail guide --4--, as well as a locking device -5-- to prevent it from accidentally sliding off the handle part --B-- during use.
The handle - B-- shown in Fig. 2 and 2A, also preferably manufactured by injection molding, shows the counterparts to the dovetail guide --4-- and to the locking device. A piston-like part corresponding to the inner cross section of the filling opening of the brush head - is in the for Bore --2-- arranged in a suitable position on the stem - B -. The length of the piston-like part depends on the usable distance between the filling opening and the outlet openings of the brush head.

For use, the brush head - A - filled with a suitable medium is inserted into the dovetail guide of the handle --B - and pushed on until it stops. The parts snap in with the help of the
EMI2.1
--5-- expressed in each other through the outlet openings. The outlet openings widened towards the outside allow the torn membrane parts to evade the outlet flow, so that an almost unhindered, light flow of media takes place.
