The invention relates to a device for extracting exhaust gases via a chimney or the like .. in particular for extracting flue gases from fireplaces.
It often occurs due to weather conditions, the sooting of the chimneys or due to insufficient cross-sections of chimney openings. that the draft effect of the chimneys is not satisfactory. When renovating old chimneys, pipes made of plastic, metal or chamotte are usually pulled into the existing chimney to avoid chiseling work. This is necessarily one

According to the invention, this object is achieved by an injector consisting of a tube. to which a diffuser is connected on the outside, and a line opening into the tube or diffuser for supplying outside air.
The supply of additional air into the pipe or the diffuser in connection with the cross-sectional expansion through the diffuser creates negative pressure according to the injector principle. through which a good extraction of the exhaust gases from the fireplace is made possible. This results in a better draft effect of chimneys, especially with small chimney diameters. By using the device according to the invention, proper functioning of renovated chimneys can be ensured despite the smaller opening diameter. This means that new fireplaces can be avoided or at least delayed, and costs can be saved. At the same time, the admixture of clean air causes a dilution of the exhaust gases, which results in the emission concentrations of air pollutants such as carbon monoxide and sulfur oxide.
Nitrogen oxides, unburned hydrocarbons. Water vapor and soot can be significantly reduced. By means of the extraction of the exhaust gases, the function according to the invention can also be maintained with longer connecting lines. Likewise, the height of smoke traps can be reduced or a necessary increase avoided by the device according to the invention. Through the

Water dew point can be kept dry and sooting does not occur. In particular for the renovation of existing chimneys, it is provided that the pipe of the injector connects to the opening of the chimney or the like or protrudes into the opening of the chimney or the like.
This means that the device according to the invention can be retrofitted quickly and inexpensively simply by placing it on the chimney head.
Alternatively, the injector can also be integrated in the chimney opening in the chimney, instead of being placed on the top of the chimney or the like.
According to an advantageous embodiment variant of the invention, the diffuser or a pipe connected to it connects to the pipe partially overlapping to form an annular gap. and the annular gap opens into a chamber surrounding the tube. with which chamber the line for supplying the outside air is connected. This design variant creates particularly even flow conditions in the injector. and thereby improves the effect.
A simple but effective design variant is achieved by the diffuser being formed by a conical pipe socket.
According to a further feature of the invention, a fan for conveying the outside air is connected to the line on the outside. To avoid excessive noise, a low-noise fan is advantageously used. The outside arrangement facilitates maintenance and possible replacement of the fan.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is provided. that in the chimney or the like, preferably near the chimney sole, a secondary air device is provided for further supply of outside air. By such a secondary air device, which can be provided for example in the form of a flap over the chimney sole, is in the

Injector generated negative pressure a constant suction of air through the chimney and thus keeping it dry or quickly draining and preventing renewed wet grounding of the chimney.
Further details of the invention will be explained with reference to the attached drawing, in which an embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown schematically.
The drawing shows a chimney 1 and an embodiment of the device according to the invention, which can be placed on the head of the chimney 1. The injector 5 consists of a tube 2, which has a smaller diameter than the opening of the chimney 1, so that it can be used in it. A pipe 3 is connected on the outside to the pipe 2. wherein the diameter of the tube 3 is larger than the diameter of the tube 2, so that the tubes 2 and 3 can be inserted into one another. In the area of overlap between the two tubes 2 and 3, an annular gap 6 is created. A diffuser 4 is connected to the tube 3.
In the example shown, the diffuser 4 has a frustoconical shape, but the diffuser 4 can also have a differently shaped cross-sectional widening to the outside. The annular gap 6 opens into a chamber 7 which serves as a calming zone and surrounds the inlet-side end of the tube 3 and the outlet-side end of the tube 2. A fan 9 blows outside air into the chamber 7 laterally via a line 8. The inflow of air moves in the direction of the arrows into the chamber 7 and from there via the annular gap 6 into the tube 3. Due to the aerodynamic laws, the high speed of the air in the annular gap 6, in conjunction with the diffuser 4, results in the exhaust gas outlet zone Negative pressure through which the exhaust gases are sucked in from the fireplace.
A low-noise, low-output air fan is preferably used to blow in the air. As a result, the operating costs are very low. The electrical supply to the fan is preferably coupled to the boiler control system, so that the fan is only activated during the operation of the heater. The light from the outside

The device according to the invention can be placed and assembled very easily and quickly on existing chimneys. Adaptation to the respective chimney output is also easy and inexpensive to carry out.
For boiler outputs in the range of 40 to 50 kW, a device with a total height of 60 cm, a diameter of about 20 cm and a fan power of about 40 watts is sufficient, with a chimney with a diameter of 80 mm and 50 m length, a sufficient vacuum for one to evacuate exhaust gases safely.
Such dimensioned attachments are inexpensive to manufacture and have

The device according to the invention can be used particularly advantageously in the renovation of old chimneys, since a reduction in the cross-section of the chimney through metal pipes, fire pipes or flexible PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) pipes is permitted due to the negative pressure.
The injector placed on the chimney eliminates signs of sooting. which adversely affect the function of the chimney on masonry catches, catches made of firebrick pipes or Leca concrete in connection with an auxiliary air device, for example in the form of a flap, placed over the chimney sole. This also keeps smoke traps dry when the water vapor dew point is undershot. In addition to the preferred area of application of the device according to the invention for extracting smoke gases from fireplaces, various other applications are also conceivable. The installation of the device according to the invention in smoke traps. preferably in the area of its mouth instead of touchdown is also possible.
