Kupplung

coupling
A task that occurs frequently in industry is to connect the ends of two shafts with one another in a rotationally fixed manner, the center lines of which run parallel to one another, but are shifted from one another at a distance that is smaller than the radius of the waves.
In a known coupling, a disk made of elastic, flexible material is connected to both shaft ends, which disk still transmits the torque in the event of a center line displacement and angular displacement of a small extent. Instead of the elastic washer, an elastic sleeve made of flexible material is sometimes used, in which both shaft ends engage. The common disadvantage of these couplings is that, as a result of the constant load, the connecting disk or sleeve becomes damaged after a relatively short operating time. The material of the disc or sleeve is also sensitive to the effects of heat and individual chemical substances, such as. B. oil, not sufficiently resistant.
The constant work of deformation generates heat in the connecting material, which means that the efficiency of such couplings is not satisfactory. Finally, the arrangement of a disk requires a relatively large amount of space.
Another known type of coupling is the universal joint, but it also requires considerable space.
A coupling is also known in which the pins mounted at the end of one shaft engage in the corresponding bore of the elastic bushes or bushes made of leather that are fastened to the end of the other shaft. Their disadvantage lies in the relatively short life of the liner material, in the low resistance to heat and chemical substances and in the heat generation due to the deformation work. The efficiency also does not meet current technical requirements.
The clutch designs that transmit the torque by means of elastic, flexible materials are not very reliable due to the damage that occurs after a relatively short period of time and, above all, not suitable for the transmission of large torques.
The known couplings are ultimately used for performing special tasks, such as. B. not suitable for the direct drive of the output shaft by a planetary gear or by planetary gears in planetary gears.
Even a known coupling in the form of a so-called parallel roller drive does not meet the task of coupling parallel shafts whose center lines are at a distance from one another because the pins used in the known device for transmitting the torque are jammed or wear out after a short period of operation .
The invention aims at the production of such a coupling, which is suitable for the transmission of considerable torques at any speed, the efficiency of which corresponds to the current technical requirements in every respect, which can be installed in a space-saving manner, has great operational reliability and the effects of heat and the Resists exposure to chemical substances well.
Based on a coupling for connecting two shaft ends, their center lines to each other
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
are arranged parallel and at a smaller distance from one another than the radius of the shafts, the essence of the invention is that one coupling half has three or more bores along a circle centered around the shaft center line, in which rotatable bushes supported by roller bearings are arranged, which have bores formed with an eccentricity equal to the distance between the center lines of the shafts to be connected, the other coupling half being provided with rotatable pins which engage in the bores of the bushes and are mounted in these bores by means of roller bearings.
The invention will be discussed in more detail using the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings. Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the coupling according to the invention. Fig. 2 is the section or the view of the coupling according to Fig. 1 along the line II-II.
Bushings 4 are pressed into the bores 3 of the disk 2 attached to the shaft 1.
The design of the bushings 4 is similar to the design of the outer ring of roller bearings, with an inner bush 6 being rotatable on the rollers or needles 5.
The rollers or needles 7 arranged in the inner bushes 6 serve to guide and hold the pins 10 fastened in the counter disk 9. The disk 9 is mounted on the shaft 8 to be coupled.
The axis of the bores 11 serving to receive the pin 10 is arranged eccentrically to the axis of the inner sleeve 6. The degree of eccentricity is the same as the distance between the center lines of the two shaft ends to be connected.
The coupling according to the invention works in such a way that when the shaft 1 or 8 rotates via the pin 10, the other shaft also rotates at the same speed, with the inner sleeves 6 also rotating in the outer sleeve 4.
The advantages of the coupling according to the invention are as follows: This coupling does not contain any material that is sensitive to chemical substances or the effects of heat, so it can be used with advantage wherever it is exposed to a large amount of heat or chemical substances. In practice, it is also suitable for the transmission of any torque.
During operation, hardly any heat develops in this coupling, which is why its efficiency is high. It works reliably and little space is required for its installation. In the case of planetary gears, it is also suitable for driving the output shaft directly from the planetary gear.
